Step One 

Your canvas, which is your face, needs to be cleansed and moisturized before any makeup application

This helps ensure a smooth surface

As well, if skin is “thirsty” it will rush to absorb the oils in the makeup making fine lines appear more noticeable.

Foundation “101” Now that you’re all set… 

Your foundation shade should match the tone of your skin, or be as close as possible.

How do you know if the color of your foundation matches your skin tone?

Foundation is “the perfect colour” if it blends well with your skin, it should seem that you are not wearing any foundation at all.

Foundation “101” 

If the color of your skin changes, be sure to adjust the color of your foundation. This is especially key in the summer months when we enjoy a sun-kissed glow.

Also, to know for certain if you are picking the right color of foundation for your skin, always test the foundation under natural light.

Inside your arm or under your jaw line are two good spots to test the shade selection.

Concealers Revealed 

If you have blemishes that you’d like to hide, such as pimples or dark spots, smooth a concealer on blemishes before applying foundation.

The right concealer can hide just about every imperfection and provide the look of flawless skin.

Tip to apply: gently pat concealer on with fingertips, or brush on with a soft flat brush.

Concealers Revealed 

Concealer should be one or two shades lighter than your foundation and have the same undertone (yellow or blue).

Concealer should cover entire under-eye, including outside of eye to give it lift. This will take years off your look.

With liquid or solid foundation, best results are obtained by using concealer afterwards.

When using a cream-to-powder foundation, concealer should go on first.

Always Remember ď ą

Blend. Blend. Do not forget to....blend!

ď ą

You don't want to see where color begins or ends. Whether it's foundation, blush, or eye color: no hard, drawn lines should be seen.

The Eyes Have It! 

Eyeshadow is a powerful tool in your cosmetic case arsenal

Depending on “the hues you wish to use”, you can get colorful and creative with the wide selection of eyeshadows we offer.

No longer just shades of eye shadow powder, now you can accessorize your eyes with a beautiful array of creams and glittery dustings; as well as colour with benefits (like Anew Eyeshadows).

There’s a formula for every age, every look, everyday!

The Eyes Have It! 

Select a shade that either compliments or contrasts your eye colour.

Complimenting the eye colour gives a sleek, finished look while contrasting provides a more contemporary look.

For a dimensional look, blend two colors of powder or one color of powder atop a cream shadow base.

Tip: With cream-based eye shadows, less really is more; cream shadows need a light application across the lid. Wait for it to fry before applying more.

It’s a Fine Line ď ą

To really define the eyes, apply a thin line of eyeliner in black, brown, grey, plum or navy to the outside line of bottom lashes.

ď ą

To properly apply the eyeliner pencil or liquid liner, gently pull the corner of your eye outward, forming a straight line along your lashes. Starting at the inside corner and working toward the outside, delicately trace a line with the pencil angled toward your lashes.

It’s a Fine Line 

Be careful how much eyeliner you apply, as a little really does go a long way.

For a dramatic look, thicker and darker is very acceptable. For a subtle definition, stick with a lighter application.

Mascara Magic 

When selecting mascara, many factors come into play. From thickening to lengthening to colour concerns, waterproofing and curling, each of our mascara products has a special offering of its own.

Considering your own lashes, choose one that best suits your needs and desires.

Generally, applying two coats of mascara will give enough definition to lashes to really make a difference.

Mascara Magic ď ą

Allow the first coat to dry before applying the second in an effort to lessen clumping.

ď ą

If some of the mascara accidentally brushes onto your eyelids or underneath, simply use a cotton swab dipped in makeup remover to remove it. Doublecheck if eye shadow still intact if need be.

Makeup helps enhance the beauty that is You.
