THE PLACE AND THE SYSTEM The project describes a new underground train station in Tønsberg, a neighboring regional centre to Europes fastest growing urban area, the Oslo metropolitan region. Not only is there a demand for a station due to a great increase in traffic, but also because moving the railway underground will provide highly needed area for a town in rapid growth. The station proposed is drawn after local plans and guidelines set by thte Norwegian National Rail Administration. SITUASJONSPLAN 1:1000
The project is all about meetings. How the station meets the town, and how it can tie it together and simultaneously serve as the first step in an expansion of the downtown area. The project also describes how the system, a major infrastructural intervention, can connect to a local place, and how logistical needs can interact with secondary functions. These meetings have drawn the project and appear in different scales. They can be intertwined, sometimes completely hidden - in veiled transitions, and sometimes clarified and clearly. In such ways as a traveler can encounter a place.
Existing urban structure.
Indicative structure.
The station is positioned as an extension of existing structure, and indicates direction for future development.
The existing road network.
New road proposed.
New infrastructure indicates a natural position of the new station hall.
The platform hall connects to the main hall and two secondary entrances.
Parking occurs by the north entrance, pedestrians use the main hall, while bustransfer is located by the south entrance.
Facing south, a new green space creates the frame for arriving by foot.
The space connects excisting green areas, and stitches the town together where it once was split.
The underground platform hall can be constructed without demolishing buildings.
To the north, arriving by car (drop-off, parking), and delivery of goods.
BB
Another meeting occurs in the connection between different functions. The station will be robust to withstand heavy traffic, but also generous enough to make room for shops and eateries. The station is not only designed after logistical terms, but also in the face of the town and its inhabitants.
Daylight filters through thin aluminum plates mounted in the ceiling.
The floor is coated partially with the local stone Tønsbergitt.
The building consists of a visible concrete structrure. The intervals are covered with wooden frames. The plans different climates and functions determines the local sill depth and if they frame variations of glass or concrete.

postindustrial living “The post-industrial society is a term for the social structure when an industrial society is transformed into the next phase; a service society based on knowledge.” Central in the Copenhagen channel, lies Christiansholm, or colloquially “the Paper Island”. It got its name from the large storage buildings that until recently, stored paper. With its industrial and partially fenced areas, the island is an unexpected neighbor to iconic public builings such as the Play House, the Opera, or the thriving area of Christianshavn. The island remains with a strange character of physically being in the centre of a city, but socially, isolated. This project is about inhabiting the Paper Island, while preserving its industrial mood and character. The proposed solution is based on a construction system of steel beams and columns. The construction creates a structure that works as a frame where prefabricated modules are placed. These modules can contain different programs, but in this suggestion the units are residential. The flexible of an open structure means that the proposed intervention can also contain other future programs, within culture, retail, or others.

COMMON HOUSE
This project describes a new common house for an allotment garden in Copenhagen. The suggestion proposes a building that encloses an urban space to the south, while opening up to the diverse allotment houses in the north. The plan is organized according to the same principles, where the different scales are represented through materials. A concrete foundation makes a mark within the building, containing harder functions. A wooden shell coveres the foundation, creating a flexible space that connects with the garden outside.
