Hello! I am Tai Kin Weng, Daniel, I am studying Industrial Design in Taiwan. What I think about design is that there are many parts in the process of Design, meanwhile, we can't finish a design without components, every component has its function and significance even if it is hidden, and I think that those functions and significances are the specific presences of the relationship between the users and products. For me, design is to design all of these all components and keep them hidden under the outward appearance. Welcome to my portfolio, here are my creations about product design in 2013 - 2015. For Our Mothers Have you ever seen the mothers walking their bikes, buying stuff around the
markets? For purchasing faster along the streets, mothers are likely to make bikes leaned on themselves without placing them. In addition, the weight of stuff disturbs the balance of the bikes.
BicyCart provides a shopping experience of safety and convenience.

Initial Problems
Statistically, for the injured rate of cyclist, the female number is higher than the male. The percentage for purpose of shopping is 38.5% at most.
Aging Society & Bike Accidents
In the aging society, there will be over 100 million senior citizens by 2050 in the globe. According to the official statistics in
Taiwan,there are 60% deathes from bike accidental injuried in the
aging population. Moreover,there has been an increasing rate of cycling using among the elderly. 12

Observation & Interview We did a field investigation between 6-9 AM in five traditional markets in Tainan.
Observations and interviews on 20 retired women have been conducted for the cycling behaviors.
To general the results of the observation and interview , we realize that the main
problems of the process of shopping with the bicycle
No suitable place for the important items. Often pauses while walking during the buying procedures. 14

Design Guidelines We are looking forward to create a more convenient and easier way of buying in the market for the retired
women.
In terms of the above user study, we concluded the following design guidelines:

How to use ? when reaching the entrances of the markets, the users could transform the bikes into carts in a simple way. 20
Reach the entrances of the markets
Hold the saddle and pull up the rear frame
Switch the securing button on the basket. then it would turn to another side due to the gravity.

Suspension Magnet Lock Comblined with the suspension and the magnet, it can be the lock of the transformed mechanism.

Initial Problems Long time sitting and regular tasks make
us easier feel tired and
bored.
Nowadays, it take people more time to sit , watching TV, Movies, having lunch. since the computer and internet were invented, they almost instend all of our activity. especically, for the officers, it take almost all the working time for them to sit on the chair and work with the computer, long time sitting and the regular works make them feel tired and bored, it creases the effort of working.

Observation & Interview Moving is the main
way for getting relax.
We have the observation and interview the people they had to
work on the chair for long time in the office or studio. we find that they like to have some strength on the chair, and change the
posure(ex. sitting on a side, putting the legs onf the chair ...) for relax.

This is a project of form trainning, I choose a imaginary character as my target user to design a toaster.

Young Honest Patriotic The character I chose was the Captain America,
Steven Rogers was born in the 1920s, is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books
published by Marvel Comics. Captain America was designed as a patriotic supersoldier who often fought the Axis powers of World War II.

He would probably interest in the new technology product in 30's
To general, I have a conjecture about the character's hobby ( it is my subjective opinions ). I think that Captain living in 30's, he would interest in the new product in 1920-30, and he is patriotic so I choose the new series car s, "Model-T" and "Model-A" of FORD , an America brand, as the form reference.
