Main features Direct contact installation The rail is designed to be fixed in contact with the surface without using any brackets.

The balls are in TorlonÂŽ.

The pinstop is not to be considered as a vertical fall arrest system.

Some installations‌

Main features Wide range of brackets The rail is designed to be fixed with brackets and structural connectors, choosing the best solution for each installation from options in stainless steel or anodized aluminum.

Multiple users The high load capacity and certification to CEN/TS 16415:2013 make it possible to use the rail with up to 4 users at the same time when designed as fall arrest system. Anodized aluminum The rail and extruded brackets, made of aluminum T6 6082, are designed to withstand extreme conditions and available in anodized finishes for corrosion resistance.

Long span between brackets The rail profile is designed to achieve up to 3m spans between brackets for fall arrest (1,5m for rope access).

Structural connectors Strong, premium-grade stainless steel or aluminum connectors secure and align rail end for smooth trolley transition from one rail segment to the next, without drilling the rail.

Shortly after the launch of the new Long Span rail, we secured two prestigious installation projects Nuvola di Fuksas – Italy

RAIL - mounting positions ➢ The rail can be mounted in every position: Ceiling, Wall, Floor

➢ Depending on the load direction, it is important to choose the correct car type

IMPORTANT ADVICE Obtain the best performance of the trolley • •

Identify the direction of the load on the trolley during the use of the system Choose the rail positioning so that the load direction is as much as possible perpendicular to the rail face

TECHNICAL DRAWING 3m

Sec. A-A The blind hole is intended to block the trolley using the "pinstop mechanism.

Sec. B-B The countersunk hole is through the fastening hole.

Sec. A-A

Sec. B-B

SPECIFICATION FOR COMPLIANT INSTALLATION •

The type of fastener recommended by HARKEN is based on screws/bolts; minimum specification of stainless M8 A2-70 countersunk head ensuring a workload > 6kN. Torque settings for fixings are to be identified and adhered to, according to fixing specification for selected structure and anchor combination. Please note that recommended typical values for M8 A2-70 bolts are: 21Nm for a dry fixing, or 19Nm for a lubricated fixing.

HARKEN recommends the use of an oxide inhibiting barrier system between dissimilar metals, such as TefGel, to maximize the lifespan of the Access Rail System and anchors.

The fixing centers can be at 100mm, 200mm or a maximum of 300mm, to be selected to suit the strength and capacity of the anchorage structure and fasteners available (refer to User Manual for details).

It is recommended to always fix the rail in the last hole near the edge connector, 50mm from either side of the joint, as the splice link connector is primarily used to maintain the alignment of the rails. Splice link IN1649

SPECIFICATION FOR COMPLIANT INSTALLATION •

FIXED endstop (IN9561.CLEAR) should be installed using a longer bolt, fastening back to the structure as an anchor. If for any reason you can not fix the endstop to the structure, we recommend fastening the endstop to the rail by forming a threaded M8 hole and using an M8 A2-70 stainless steel bolt, making sure to place it before the last fixing on the rail (or within 5cm of the last fixing).

REMOVABLE endstop (IN1642.CLEAR): secure it in one of the holes for the locking device of the trolley ("pinstop“), making sure to place it before the last fixing on the rail (or within 5cm of the last fixing).

In the case of hardware with characteristics lower than the recommended minimum specification, it is suggested that the designer increase the frequency of fixings (reducing the fixing centres). Always use hardware that, when tightened to appropriate torque level, is recessed or flush to the rail and does not protrude from the profile, to avoid interference with the movement of the trolley.

MAINTENANCE In case of dirty conditions, especially with fine dust/powder, the performance of the trolleys could decrease. In such situations, follow these easy instructions: Blow the 2 tracks of the trolley with compressed air, in order to remove as much as possible the dirt and dust between the balls

• •

Spray a dry lubricant (like McLube Sailkote) on all the balls. Shake the trolley, so that the lubricant adheres to all the balls and drains the excess. If you notice un-lubricated bearing, repeat the operation. Wait a few minutes until the lubricant is completely dry.

In case of missing Torlon® balls, replace them (30 + 30 spheres for each trolley) The empty space (about 5mm) indicated by the arrows is correct
