Website A simple, easy to use website was needed for a local artist to display his portfolio and have contact details. The solution was to use a limited, traditional colour scheme and simple layout for ease of use and to reflect the clients work.

The website was designed and coded with two days, and made live soon after. It can be found at www.brushclub.com.

Reflections On A Local Level

Album Artwork

A Grimsby based local musician required a logo as well as album artwork for his latest ep, ‘Reflections On A Local Level’. A custom typeface was created to be used as a website banner and on the album artwork.

The full name is Air Up & Withers. Air Up is the musicians name, as Withers is the producers name. In the case of this ep, only the musician took part, so doesn’t require the full name.

The client gave full creative control, and three different designs were created. Only the front of the cover needed to be designed as it is going to be distributed digitally.

Logo, Business Cards and Watermark

Business Cards

Watermark

A minimal, straightforward logo was required to be used as a watermark and on business cards for a Leeds based photographer. The solution was a clean sans serif font, and an aperture in the name to reflect the practice.

Business cards were made which had a variety of her photographs on the back so she can choose the appropriate topic to give to clients.

This is used on her photographs in the corner, and always in white.

Paw Print

Dog Bone

A custom font has been created so that it is exclusive to the brand. The rounded edges create a friendly and playful tone. Capital letters will make it stand out to the customer and passers by.

Green has been used to suit the client’s needs and compete with brands such as Pets At Home. It is an outdoorsy, forest green to connect to dog walkers and animals such as rabbits who live outside.

The paw print fits in with the client’s wants and gives relevance to the type of business it is. Combined with the ‘C’ it also resembles a collar tag when turned on its side.

The dogs bone around the ‘Companions’ not only makes that word stand out next to ‘Pet Shop’, but shows the customer the kind of products that it sells.

Conversation in Code

A conversation in my kitchen was recorded and then turned into soundwaves using Logic 9. These were then turned into vectors and arranged to make this poster. They show the dialogue that happens in my house on a daily basis visually.

Here is a photograph that was taken in Barcelona airport. Dialogue thrives in this environment, with people waiting for each other, connecting people from all over the world, and it can be an emotional time.

Here a recent conversation when ordering an ice cream is depicted through code, using comments, forms and styles to describe it. As I am interested in web, this is a way of combining both print and web.

Main Brief

Solution

Brief asked to create the future of bacon packaging for Danepaks bacon range. Focus on keeping the meat fresh for longer, shelf impact, portraying a premium brand and bear in mind environmental concerns.

The solution was to create a recloseable bag which eases the handling, stops cross contamination of food in the fridge and keeps the meat fresh for longer. It has an outer package which portrays a premium feel.

BEAR

Brief

Solution

To design backs of cereal for BEAR, being educational or crafty, with games lasting more than two minutes. The company is ethical, has an organic feel and an alternative to unhealthy kids cereal. The project is a collaborative effort.

The concept is to create scenes based on Woodland to reflect the brand and encourage kids to be outdoorsy. The kid can then cut out parts of the scene and build it to create a tabletop playset, as well as learn from the facts included on the box.
