PRIVATE YACHT CLUB
This is a club for yacht club membership, and it can also be used for gourmet, leisure entertainment and hotel accommodation. The club is located in Wuyuan Bay, Xiamen. As the club is defined as a leisure entertainment and accommodation, the main users can be divided in two kinds:members and staffs. How to organize these two circulations and how to integrate grey space into the yacht club is the main challenge of the project.

INNOVATION CENTER
This is a graduation project include eight students from three classes. Each student has an opportunity to design an unique innovation center by myself in the Hefei Chuangkai Technopark. According to the actual site and specific requirements of tutor and client, the main task of this project is to design an artistic construction with advanced ideas and technology, and to reflect Chinese cultural peculiarities and national characteristics. I choose the fashion research and design as the building theme.

The formation of Chinese city is usually based on a "coast to inland" process, which can satisfy the fundamental requirement of the human activities.A picture of the skyline of coastal city is magnificent, while the situation of inland city is backward. Therefore, in order to accelerate the pace of development in the area, the city of Anhui is building a high-tech park. Our project is focus on one of innovation centers in the high-tech park, which will provide collabrative environment for top innovators and enterprises.

Even today,Hui style architecture, Huangmei opera, textile processing, Huang Mountain and kirigami are still the most distinctive things in Anhui province. So. the second idea is to integrate these local characteristics into the innovation center. Clothing design industry is the theme of public building. Innovation center provids designers a working place for research, development, prototyping and making up. It also can hold a large fashion show and clothing exhibition.

Innovation Center lies beside the main road of the area. Most of original villages have vanished, replaced by big scale blocks which better fit for cars. Even if renowned as Hui style architecture, it’s difficult to stay or enjoy the special forms of architecture. I hope people might be attracted into the innovation center by the view at the entrance. Their eyes would follow the fall of the stairs coming from the ground all the way down to the atrium. People could choose getting into the space either through the ramp of roof or the atrium with trees and stage on the negative layer. They would stay and chat under the tree in the atrium, or, see the fashion show by the stage. Meanwhile, they could enjoy clothing artworks and watch other people lingering inside the building through glass curtain wall. The glass curtain wall implies people to the other side of the building, and introduces them to come to the public stairs-plaza on the roof, where people could sit and enjoy sunshine, or look down to the atrium, or even do some activities with people.

SITE ELEVATIONS The pavilion we built is located in our university and it is between two dark red campus buildings. One can see the project from the classroom window. After we finished the pavilion, it became a good place for students to rest.
The Initial Ideas of Our Group Thoughts regarding external stimuli is peaceful.I want to design a pavilion for students to relax and take a nap. It is likely to be a harbor to warm a person.
PROSPECTUS 1. What are you going to design? You are not designing a building. 2. What is the thing you are trying to design? (Start with the definition.) 3. What is your first thought about the thing you are trying to design? (What do you think about the thing you want to design?) 4. Why are you going to design this thing? (What is your purpose not the function)? 5. Where will the think you design be placed (located/ sited)?
Idea about my thought is wall. The utilization of strategies are contrast, volume and this order to conceptualize, organize thoughts, in order to design a pavilion.Wall is the expression of thoughts regarding dependence. The articulation of expression is bound to a maker's ability to express thoughts (The System of Ideas)regarding forms within the immediacy of a corresponding moment. You can hear the calling from the wall and self-blessing as long as you stay in the pavilion. We need a pavilion to let us enjoy sunshine in a pleasant day.School require a relatively quiet space for people to think and enjoy.Thoughts regarding external stimuli is container. It can absorb the essence of the outside world while shielding interference.

I hope that the pavilion is an extension of the environment. Extending from one space to another space. Converting from one space to another space allows students to have different feelings. I will take the concept deeply into the design. Let them feel this process.

SITE ANALYSIS - Conditions SITE PLAN 100M
SITE ANALYSIS-Forces From the questions,we measured the pavilion site and block paving as well as the position of trees.Three times measurements can ensure the data accurately. We can easily build the pavilion to avoid moving trees.

Then we began to analyze traffic flow and people flow.We researched the walking routes of students through the site and sketched site analysis diagrams about forces. 33
DIAGRAMING
MASSING formation of interior
IDENTITY PROJECT Movement Through the Form Our first thought is about peace, which is a state of mind.It is difficult to create state deliberately, so we need to create a peaceful atmosphere through pavilion in the site. If you have peace, you are not being disturbed, and you are in calm, quiet surroundings. This kind of surrounding will lead you feel content and calm. Our pavilion provides a place for people at peace and calm down. We chose the wall as the idea because it has welloriented characteristic and easy to break up a space. Exterior space provides people to communicate with others, while interior space bring themselves the feeling of calmness. Meanwhile, oriented wall guides people to the peaceful environment from the noisy space. During the process of design, it is necessary to make a point of not only the entity form itself, but also the spaces around which defined by the entity.

How shadows would be cast around/thru the pavilion
This is the massing plan. This diagram illustrates the pavilion among its more depth to go, the stronger the sense of enclosure. This space can effectively avoid any interference in order to bring people the feeling of calmness in a independent space.

This is the massing elevation.Wall has well-oriented characteristic. It helps people reach two spaces which are created by us.They are internal and external space. the Winter Solstice
This diagram is massing with perspective effect. We use comparative methods to express the oriented force. When people come into the internal space, they will find the oriented force increases dramatically.

Structure Plan
Search of the wood We went to the market of wood to search for a kind of wood which will have best constructibility to the pavilion. We selected the structure solid wood and board.Thirty-one large solid wood columns upheld the pavilion's heavy roof. We used board to cover the whole solid wood columns and surrounding a curve space.

THE RESULT
WINTER
Finally,it didn't come out exactly as what i expected, but what i learnt during the whole period came far more than i had expected. As to the construction of pavilion in the last month, it turned out the biggest challenge to test members'capabilities. It was the first time for me to cut wood by electric motor saw and paint wood against corrosion as well as fix wood by electric drill. All those efforts of the first time refreshed my understandings of the divergence between theory and practice. From then on, I formed the clear knowledge that architecture should not end up with theoretical study or paperwork but get upgraded in frequent practice.

PHOTOGRAPHY Photography is one of my hobbies. In period of university, I spend a lot of time visiting many places in vacations.Capturing the details of construction and the moment through the lens is the most enthusiastic thing in my traveling. It makes me come into contact with different culture and meet a variety of architecture styles. This part of the photography is mainly from the process of accumulation during tourism and practice.

PAINTING I have 4 years of professional educational experience in painting. When I was a child, i liked painting the Carton. After I study in the university I fell in love with taditional Chinese watercolor painting. In this part, I would like to represent the watercolor painting and the pen drawing of architecture during my university period as well as excellent drawing skill and capability in three-dimensional form controlling.
