Farmland Section drawing

Farmland is one of the parts of the idea of self-sustaining. The self-sustaining aim to fulfill part human needs for a resource such as foods, energy, and water. By building up PV-panels shading devices to collect water and solar energy. Also, the parking lot is a way to collect water and solar energy. Farmland is built for both food and scientific research.

Social Hub Section Drawing

In this project, the woody island is the social center, a circulation area that connects the other program. This area is the hub for various human social activities and social living spaces, including a dining building, research and study center, welcoming center, and dormitory. The design of Woody island was inspired by the land feature: woody and wet soil. So it elevates from the ground to minimize the damage to the natural environment.

Cabin Group Section Drawing

The cabin group aims to keep privacy and distance from the social area. This area includes diverse types of living space: duplex houses and studio cabins, which fit different needs for group size. Each house/ cabin is designed with a water collection system to capture rainwater.

Dexter rowing center aims to create spaces for athletes, public visiting, and boat storage. My design intends to blend the building into the dexter park site; the building itself is a part of the natural landscape instead of an “object” that sits on the dexter lake bank.
