CAREERS IN THE CLASSROOM
The Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance’s Economic Impact Committee started a new initative called, “Careers in the Classroom”. The goal is to provide an opportunity for Lakewood Ranch High School Seniors to hear from local businesses and their employees about the careers available here in the region.
We want these students to know there are really great opporutnities here in their backyard. Companies from different industries and sectors, who they could consider for internships and jobs in the future.
This past school year our members from across different industries joined the initaitive and gave presentations. They shared how they got started, what their bussinesses offer, history of their company and so much more. This program provided the opportunity for students to ask questions and explore careers in a new way!
We look forward to continuing this partnership and inviting more business leaders into the classroom to raise up the next generation in the years ahead.

Are you looking to grow and establish relationships with experienced and knowledgeable business leaders in the Lakewood Ranch region? Join us for Mentor Connect!
How does the Mentor Connect event work?
An effective mentor relationship takes time and effort for both participants. Mentor Connect is a starting point for mentors and mentees. Participants will engage in several discussions about the topics of your choosing, and you will receive instant guidance and professional development.
Prior to the event, mentees are asked to complete a survey to identify their areas of interest and pose three questions where they would like mentorship. Mentees will be paired up with three mentors in advance, based on these questions. During the event, each mentor and mentee will meet with each other for 20 minutes to discuss their predetermined questions. The mentees will rotate stations to meet with each of their mentors and afterwards there will be time for networking, as well as food and drinks to enjoy.

MEET OUR BOARD
Erin Wotson Co-Chair of the Events & Programming CommitteeWhere is your hometown?
I don’t have a hometown! I’m an Army brat with 9 moves before I turned 14. Home was where the Army sent us!
What’s a fun fact?
I was born in Hawaii, I have a dog named Burt Reynolds, and fun facts are hard!
What’s the best advice you’ve ever recieved?
”No” is a complete sentence and we don’t always owe an explanation for our “no”. However, we can say it with kindness. Well-being and the boundaries we put in place to protect our well-being will help us be better people and professionals.
Tieler Gittleman Chair of the Young Leaders AllianceWhere is your hometown?
I’m originally from New York, but have lived in Florida for the last 10 years!
What’s a fun fact?
I’m an avid skier and spend the winters exploring the mountains all over the world.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received? Success does not follow a linear path, but rather an exponential one. This is why it is so important to build strong habits early on. The benefits aren’t obvious in the beginning, but as you continue to learn, you will experience success that you never thought was possible. The key is remaining consistent, even when you’re not seeing tangible results.

“I received a gift certificate for Scout & Molly’s for Christmas, & ordered my first piece of custom made apparel - a jumpsuit. It came out perfect - the fit, the color & the style - and I LOVE it. The owner & her staff are very easy and pleasant to work with. I highly recommend them for that unique outfit you want for a special occasion”.
“I’ve been a customer at Scout & Molly’s for years, because I love their style and their attentive, personal service. Every time you shop, you leave feeling great. You also leave with amazing clothes that fit perfectly. When something comes in they think I’ll like, they set it aside, and they’re right — I always love it!”
