Hello 2022! We could not be more excited for this new chapter at the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance. Like many companies in our region, we have overcome obstacles, grown in many ways and experienced change along the way. This past year, we saw a transition of our CEO and the team at the Alliance continued to deliver excellent programs and engagement for our members. We are extremely grateful to the staff, Board of Directors and search committee who put in the extra hours to ensure a seamless transition. We were excited to welcome Brittany Lamont as our new President and CEO and look forward to what is on the horizon in the future.

Most of all, we are so thankful for you – our members. I have personally been a part of this organization for over 10 years and it’s been instrumental in building my business PostNet of Lakewood Ranch. It’s an honor to move into this role as your Chair of the Board and I look forward to making connections with each of you.

We, the LWRBA, are committed to continuing to be the Power of Connection for our members and providing opportunities for them to connect and engage with each other.

I hope to see you here soon at one of our upcoming events and wish you health and happiness in 2022!

As I embark on my 3rd month at the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance I am truly grateful for this opportunity to lead the organization as the new President/ CEO. I have been overwhelmed by the warm welcome I have received by the staff, Board of Directors and you, our members. I’ve been blown away by the engagement of our committees and the true connection this organization has with its members. I’ve enjoyed personally meeting so many of you, and those I haven’t, I look forward to doing so in the next couple months.

It’s been a busy 4th quarter for our team. I am in awe of the mighty team of 5 here at the Alliance and their passion for ensuring our members feel connected, supported and appreciated. We have so many amazing things to look forward to in 2022. Providing many opportunities for our members to connect through events and programming, educating our members on community related topics and the latest business trends and supporting our members through advocacy, as your voice of business here in Lakewood Ranch region.

Within these pages of the publication, you will see the amazing opportunities you have to engage with your fellow 600 members. We look forward to being a resource for you and I personally look forward to connecting.

Thank you for your membership and this opportunity to be a part of the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance family.

STRONGER TOGETHER

Are you interested in being more engaged in your community and our organization? Looking for a leadership position that aligns with your profes sional goals and objectives?

It’s no secret the heart of the Alliance has long been the strength of its 8 committees and volunteers. The 150+ members who give their time and energy are essential in supporting our staff and board in delivering member value and shaping the activities and opportunities the Alliance provides our busi ness community throughout the year.

The Alliance encourages you to become an involved member of our organization through committee engagement and leadership opportunities. There is something for everyone’s skillset and interests, and there is no commitment. Feel free to check out any of our meetings to see if it’s a fit. Select committees are even offering the opportunity to join virtually.

Serving on a committee can be highly rewarding! We asked a few highly engaged committee mem bers about their involvement to learn what they get back by volunteering. It’s about building communi ty, making friends, and growing together. We hope to see you soon!

“I have been part of the programming com mittee for about 11 years. My involvement has allowed me to strengthen relationships and develop better communication, organizational and leadership skills through the years and now have the opportunity to give back and help new committee members develop their skills.”

“The Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance has one of the most active, engaging, and productive membership groups I have ever been involved with. The talent, abilities, and experience that populate the membership and the staff is an amazing resource not only for network ing, and education but also for understanding our community. I encourage everyone to get involved on committees and share your talents and experi ence. Abraham Lincoln once said, “The best way to predict the future is to create it.” Your involvement will not only enrich your life and business, but ev eryone else’s in our community.”

“My experience participating in the Eco nomic Development Committee has been so rewarding! The opportunity to befriend and engage with the other committee Ranchers is a constant pleasure and has led to many great outcomes for me personally and in our mission to increase awareness of the many businesses serv ing our great community.”

“I’ve always enjoyed connecting with peo ple and connecting people with each oth er. Being on a committee allows me to do that because you can’t help but form a relation ship with those on the committee with you. Those relationships fan out to forming others within the Alliance and that leads to business for our com pany. Personally, I enjoy the time spent with my fellow committee members and I feel good about contributing to the Alliance to further its mission!”

The Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance representatives from the Government Affairs Committee - Susan Goldstein (GAC Chair), Casey Welch, David Fink and Greg Green recently went to Tallahassee to meet with the local delegation. While in Tallahassee, they had the opportunity to meet with Representatives Michelle Rayner, James Buchanan, Tommy Gregory, and Will Robinson; as well as Senators Jim Boyd and Joe Gruters. During those meetings, the LWRBA shared its legislative agenda which focuses on three key areas – Economic Development, Education and Workforce and Infrastructure.. The team was also able to meet with Assistant Secretary of Transportation to Courtney Drummond to focus on workforce and

transportation programs in place and soon to come to our area.

Locally, both Dan Sidler, VP and new CEO Brittany Lamont joined Susan Goldstein and incoming 2022 GAC Chair Ron Beck at the Manatee and Sarasota local delegation meetings. These meetings focused on reinforcing our public policy initiatives for the coming year.

Thank you to our local delegation for their time in commitment to creating a business-friendly climate here in Lakewood Ranch and for our GAC volunteers for representing our almost 600 member businesses.

Forbes/SHOOK Best-in-State Wealth Advisors list is comprised of approximately 5,000 financial advisors. It was developed by SHOOK Research and is based on in-person and telephone due diligence meetings to measure factors such as: quality of practice, industry experience, compliance record, assets under management (which vary from state to state) and revenue. Although neither UBS Financial Service Inc. or its employees pay a fee in exchange for these ratings, UBS may hire RJ Shook to be a speaker for events. Past performance is not an indication of future results. Investment performance is not a criterion because client objectives and risk tolerances vary, and advisors rarely have audited performance reports. Rankings are based on the opinions of SHOOK Research, LLC and not indicative of future performance or representative of any one client’s experience. For designation disclosures, visit ubs.com/us/en/designationdisclosures. As a firm providing wealth management services to clients, UBS Financial Services Inc. offers investment advisory services in its capacity as an SEC-registered investment adviser and brokerage services in its capacity as an SEC-registered broker-dealer. Investment advisory services and brokerage services are separate and distinct, differ in material ways and are governed by different laws and separate arrangements. It is important that clients understand the ways in which we conduct business, that they carefully read the agreements and disclosures that we provide to them about the products or services we offer.
