Walk to End Alzheimer’s unites the entire community in a display of combined strength and dedication in the fight against this devastating disease. More than 5.7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease, the sixth-leading cause of death in the U.S. and the only disease among the top 10 causes that cannot be cured, prevented or even slowed. In Contra Costa County alone, there are over 20,000 people living with the disease and and that number is expected to increase by as much as 85% by 2030.
