Big cleats to fill as SRVHS says goodbye to these stellar athletes;

#6 - Samm Shah

Samm was a 4 year varsity athlete and captain her junior and senior year. Her favorite memory is winning the EBAL championship. Off of the field she loves to spend time with her family and friends. Samm will be continuing her education at UCLA in the fall.

#21 - Paige McLeod

Paige was a 4 year varsity athlete and captain her senior year. Her favorite memory from softball is winning the softball national championship on her travel team. Off the field, she loves to listen to music with her friends. She will be continuing her softball career at Division I Illinois State University in the fall.

#24 - Sophia Baccei

Sophia played 3 years on varsity and was a captain her senior year. Her favorite memory is winning the EBAL championship for the first time in SRVHS history. Off the field, she loves to spend time with her friends and play with her dog. She is excited to attend Cal Berkeley in the fall to study PreMed.

#3 - Nick Rivera (Catcher)

Nick’s favorite baseball memories are beating Monte Vista and De La Salle. When he isn’t on the baseball field, he enjoys hanging out with friends and family. His favorite quote is “Believe you can and you’re halfway there” (Theodore Roosevelt). He will be attending University of Colorado Boulder in the fall, where he plans to study business.

- Blake Jacobs (3rd Base)

Blake’s favorite baseball memory was his first season on varsity when they went on a 16 game win streak, including a series win vs De La Salle. When not on the baseball field, he enjoys working out, hanging out with friends and fishing. His favorite quote is “There may be people who have more talent than you, but there’s no excuse for anyone to work harder than you do” (Derek Jeter). Next year he plans to play baseball at UCSB and study communications.

- Jordan Rutchena (Pitcher)

Jordan’s favorite baseball memory is this year, when he threw a complete game in the Fresno Tournament. When he isn’t on the baseball field he enjoys lifting at 24 Hour Fitness. His favorite quote is “I see no greater life purpose than to perish in attempting the great and impossible” (Nietzche). He plans to play baseball at Ohlone College in the fall and study either kinesiology or philosophy.

- Kam Croghan (Pitcher)

Kam’s favorite baseball memory was on his birthday in little league all stars where he hit a walk off grand slam. In his free time, he enjoys hanging out with his friends. His favorite quote is “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take” (Proverbs 3:5-6). In the future, he plans on studying aerospace engineering and astrophysics. He has not committed to a school yet.

- Nic Volpe

Nic’s favorite baseball memory was when he lived in Australia, where he played in the Australian Little League National Championships. When not playing baseball, he enjoys working out, watching sports and spending time with his friends and family. His favorite quote is “I’ve failed over and over again in my life, and that is why I succeed” (Michael Jordan). Next year he is attending University of Arizona and studying exploratory studies.

#23 - Bryce Hix (Pitcher)

Bryce’s favorite baseball memory is beating De La Salle. When he isn’t on the field, he enjoys hanging out with friends. His favorite quote is “Stay Hard” (David Goggins). In the fall he plans to study business at Arizona State.

#30 - Mason Hill

Mason’s favorite baseball memory is hitting his first homerun on his birthday. When not on the baseball field, he enjoys hanging out with friends, lifting, and playing other sports. His favorite quote is “If you’re afraid to fail, then you’re probably going to fail” (Kobe Bryant). Next year he plans to attend Cal Poly San Luis Obispo to study communication studies.

#33 - Robbie Watson (Pitcher)

Robbie’s favorite baseball memory was when he was 12, when he traveled to Cooperstown and hung out with his team. When not on the field, he enjoys hanging out with friends. His favorite quote is “I don’t understand why people would want to get rid of pigeons. They don’t bother no one.” (Mike Tyson). In the fall he plans to attend DVC for two years, then transfer to a UC; and his area of study is undecided.
