Last year, Danville enjoyed the first Open Studios in several decades. 27 artists showed their work across Danville and over 1200 Danville and nearby residents enjoyed the opportunity to see a broad variety of outstanding art, much of it on sale.

This year, Open Studios will take place on May 11 and May 12 – Mother’s Day weekend. This will be an excellent opportunity for mothers and their families (and everyone else!) to wander around the neighborhoods in Danville at their leisure and see or buy from the very high standard of work to be presented. Each location will be clearly marked with a street side sign.

Tricia Grame is one of the featured artists that will be participating in Open Studios. She will be hosting a couple of other artists in her studio as well.

Additionally, local artists will be demonstrating plein air painting at the Dao House, accessible by shuttle from the Danville Museum on Railroad Avenue.

Danville town staff, working with the Danville Arts Commission, have been busy registering artists and preparing the brochure that will list the locations where work can be seen along with images of the art. A map will be included.

Brochures will be available at the Village Theatre Gallery on Front Street on both days of the event. Artist studios will be open from 11am to 6pm Saturday May 11 and from 11 am to 5 pm on Sunday May 12.

Both the artists and their visitors thoroughly enjoyed last year’s event and this year will be no different. Be sure to visit Open Studios on Mother’s Day weekend!
