At the Marin Headlands, offers a picturesque day trip easily filled with admiring the grandeur of the Golden Gate Bridge on a clear day, visiting fascinating historical sights, and witnessing a breathtaking sunset over the Pacific. I, along with my family, enjoyed the Rodeo Beach Coastal Trail on our spontaneous adventure. It is an 11-mile hike that features a number of abandoned military batteries and stunning views. Lush green hills combed by the wind combined with heavy waves crashing against the black pebbles of Rodeo Beach made for a magnificent spectacle. The sights and sounds are simply rejuvenating. One will not only walk away feeling satisfied from the number of calories burned and steps taken but also marveled at the magnitude of beauty that is our backyard. Cap the day off with a meal in downtown Sausalito, and it will undeniably be one to remember.

The day’s last light, saying goodnight to the beach.
Whether it is the Point Bonita Lighthouse, the Marine Mammal Center, or even the Nike Missile Site SF-88, there is something for everyone within close proximity. Do not miss this chance to capture an Instagram worthy picture poised to leave others envious. So, grab some friends, put on warm layers, and embrace the opportunity to see a spectacular piece of the place we so fortunately get to call home.
