PORTFOLIO 2018
Introduction
Introduction
I am an enthusiastic graphic design student with interests in a wide range of subjects including primary illustration, photography, user interface design, brand design and advertising design. At school I often found it difficult to communicate my thoughts using words. This led to an initial interest of sketching and drawing and then as I developed my drawing and sketching I found my love for computer design and I started to teach myself the Adobe Creative Suite. The biggest thing that inspires me is the creative design process and the experimentation that goes into a new design. Aspirations and target are always something I set my self because you always need something to aim for. My aim is life is to grow a client base as a graphic designer and develop my skill to create other media. The end goal for me is to run a design agency that can create a range of media. In my portfolio you can expect to see a range of work from brand design to poster design and app design. You can also expect to see the creative thoughts behind the final designs and understand my design process. A designer that influences me is Andy Gellenberg his collage style and the way he uses shapes to make up images is a design style that really interests me. I also really enjoy and find inspiration in the work that Is produced at the London Print Club, I really like the way they use screen printing in a unique way. I also find a lot of my inspiration in the design work I see on Instagram from a range of photographers, artist and designers. This really helps me develop creative ideas with a wide range of styles and themes. I have chosen to apply for this course because I feel that it will be the best place and course for me to develop my knowledge and design skills.

Research Research is a key part of the design process. For all of my projects I start by researching my client, then I move on to reading and understanding the brief and researching the target market. I also include other design styles or research needed to get a transparent view of the brief and an understanding of the topic and the market. One of the best ways for me
to research is to create a mood board, or if the information is written I create pages breaking the brief down. By creating a mood board I can create a board that describes the visual language of the design.
Research
This is an example of a mood board. I like to get a range of images and then add some annotation to understand the visual language.
