This I believe Essay

I believe that every good day starts off with a cup of coffee. Whether you slept well, or didn’t get any sleep at all a nice steaming cup of Joe could brighten your morning. A healthy dose caffeine will sweep away any of the morning anxiety or the last lingerings of sleep. Whether you take it with flavored creamer, half and half, or milk with or without sugar, it doesn’t matter the effect is still the same. The drink of intellects, coffee is enjoyed by a variety of people in all levels of society from elaborately decorated tiny espressos to your plastic toped Newman’s Own, light and sweet. Flavors are creative and multicultural like people. Stretching from Italian Amaretto to Hawaiian Kona beans their flavors range from sweet to bitter. Types of coffee have different styles, flairs, or complements, they go good with any pastries or spices or even a glazed doughnut from Dunkin. Coffee is universal found in the hands of many a sharply dressed career woman to a weary construction worker who just clocked in. It’s a drink that brings people together to talk over important issues or maybe just insignificant tête-à-têtes. I remember the long talks over politics or family vacations sitting out in the netted gazebo on our deck the sun rising over the tops of the wired fence and casting tiny beams across the braided rug floor. “Did someone put on a pot of coffee?” mom would ask and her answer would arrive shortly, delivered in chunky mugs or smooth green ceramic cups. She’d laugh and say “Is there enough for everyone?” Coffee doesn’t have to be colorful or sweetly tasting its plain and doesn’t need any additions. It fills the artistic mind; enter any Starbucks or corner side café to see suave men and women chatting over their drinks in large stocky sofas, or artsy youths tapping away furiously at their laptops in the corner. It’s a drink on the go, easily carried in travel mugs or disposable Styrofoam cups, the ultimate grab and go drink. It answers society’s call for the quick, easy, and satisfying. Ultimately coffee is like those who drink it, a reflection of their own personality. My Dark roasted coffee with Carmel Macchiato creamer is a reflection of my sharp mind and sometimes blunt candor a rough side that is softened by the kind and sweet taste of Carmel. Everybody has a different taste a different personality and a different flavor some bitter like a heavy blend others light and sweet like Café Mocha. It’s all bundled up and grinded together, every flavor, color, and blend. I believe that coffee not only fuels the mind but the soul.
