Just south of the Equator at an altitude of 1,675 m Nairobi enjoys an almost perfect, healthy climate: warm sunny cloudless days with the temperature seldom rising above 25 C and cooler nights.This city, born in the spirit of adventure in the days of the early pioneers, about 100 years ago, was then an insignificant jumble of tents and ox wagons beside the Uganda Railhead, which halted here 500 km inland from the coast to gather steam for the way ahead. The good climate and the abundance of water made it grow quickly, becoming one of the most important and vibrant cities of Africa, truly a Babel Tower of races and cultures with a population of almost 6 million colorful people from many nations. Leave your hotel after breakfast and drive through Nairobi suburbs and through into the National park where the elephant orphanage is located. Here you will have the opportunity to learn more about the orphaned Rhinos and elephants.
Begin with a visit to the former home of famous novelist Karen Von Blixen. The house contains many of her original pieces along with some pieces donated by the makers of the film, “Out of Africa”. Then continue to the Giraffe Centre where you have the opportunity to feed the giraffe from an elevated platform. Giraffe Centre, initiated by AFEW, is an important conservation centre worth visiting.

Day 2 – Amboseli National Park After breakfast drive to Amboseli National Park, lying below the most famous symbol of Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro. The 392 sq km Amboseli National Park lies due south of Nairobi, within clear sight of Mt Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain at 5896 metres. The waters of the mountain feed the seasonal swamps and marshes on which the game and birds, which live in the park, rely. It is here that photographers will hope to shoot the classic picture of the elephant or giraffe standing against the dramatic backdrop of the snow capped mountain. Arrive for lunch at your lodge. The permanent water supply of the Uaso Nyiro River is what attracts the game to Samburu. Crocodiles lie quietly in the mud. Much of the reserve is arid, hilly landscape but riverine forest fringes the riverbanks and there are Doum Palms, the fruit of which is a great favorite with Elephants. In Samburu there is abundant bird life, including Palm-Eagles, Storks, Hornbills, Bee-eaters and plenty of Weaver Birds. Day 12 Serengeti National Park A cooked breakfast is included at our hotel this morning. Today we enjoy another full day of exploration of this magical place unlike any other in the world. The southern plains of the Serengeti actually lie in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where Masai live. Masai still live life in the traditional manner, with their flocks and herds sharing the plains with the migratory animals and their attendant carnivores. The Masai do not hunt or eat wild animals. Instead their traditions preach of harmony between man and nature. Overnight: Serengeti Serena Lodge (LDBB) Day 13 Ngorongoro Conservation area A cooked breakfast is included at our hotel this morning. We drive across the Serengeti this morning to Olduvai Gorge, known as the” The Cradle of Mankind.” It is here where Mary Leakey found early human remains dating back almost 1.75 million years. We take time to visit the small museum before continuing onto to our lodge at Ngorongoro. This evening enjoy a glorious sunset and views of the crater from our lodge on the crater’s rim. Overnight: Ngorongoro Serena Lodge (LDBB) Day 14 Ngorongoro Conservation area A cooked breakfast is included this morning. Visiting the crater is one of Africa’s great safari highlights. The crater is a natural paradise and a vast array of animals and birds inhabit this Eden, whose pastures are fed by permanent water sources on the floor of the caldera. Our 4x4 safari vehicles will take us down the steep walls of the caldera into the primeval paradise of woodlands and plains and lakes and rivers that shelter over 20,000 animals! After our safari, we continue to Lake Manyara and our hotel Unlike the other protected areas in the region, Ngorongoro is not a national park but a conservation area. As a result, the land is managed not only for the benefit of the natural flora and fauna but also for the Masai people who are permitted to live in the area with their cattle sharing the grazing with the indigenous grazers. The crater hosts a remarkable wildlife spectacle. Contained within these walls are microcosms of so many of the eco-systems of this part of the world. There is savanna, bush land, forests and lakes, inhabited by the same range of game, from elephant to lion to wildebeest. There is even a soda lake for the flamingos and in the green season small numbers of wildebeest migrate through. The crater has permanent water too. The only absentee of note is the giraffe, which cannot manage the steep slopes. Overnight: Ngorongoro Serena Lodge (LDBB) Day 15 Lake Manyara National Park Breakfast at your lodge, then drive to Lake Manyara National Park, one of the Rift Valley’s numerous alkaline lakes, which apart from its abundant bird life, is known for its tree-climbing Lions. It is home to the largest population of lions in Kenya, and we will see them lazing in the shade of the acacia trees. Vast herds of buffalo, zebra and wildebeest also roam the plains. Impala, gazelle, giraffe and hartebeest grace the landscape and the waters of the Mara River are home to crocodiles and hippos. We are up early for a game drive before breakfast to search for predators hunting their prey and to take advantage of the morning light which is exceptional for photography. Later we return to our lodge for a hearty breakfast before meeting our naturalist guide for a mid-morning ‘nature walk” to learn more about this unique park. TERMS AND CONDITIONS
MAKING A BOOKING Your contract for all services confirmed is with relevant supplier(s) and is governed by the laws of the country in which the supplier is located and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that country. Some of the suppliers have special additional terms and conditions which may apply to certain services for example certain lodges, camps or rail journeys. These special terms and conditions may further limit or exclude the supplier’s liability to you and may differ from those contained herein, for example they may impose more stringent cancellation penalties. Any special Terms and Terms and conditions will be advised by the supplier(s) at the time of booking and all cases will be considered part of your contract. Payment is usually required 35 days prior to the commencement of the tour. If booking is received within 35 days to the commencement of tour, payment should be done 5 days after confirmation. PRICES All lodges, hotels , domestic airlines and any other suppliers reserve the right to increase or decrease the prices of unsold holidays at any time. Once the price of your chosen holiday has been confirmed at the time of booking, then subject to the correction of errors supplier(s) will only increase the prices in the following circumstance. Prices increases after booking will be passed on by way of surcharge. A surcharge will be payable if inflation, the cost of service, fuel, labour or material or currency fluctuates adversely. However, the supplier(s) will not impose any surcharge after full payment has been paid. If the total surcharge is 10% of the price or greater, you may cancel your booking without any penalty and receive a full refund of all monies paid to the supplier except for amendment charges, provided you notify the supplier of your cancellation in writing within 14 days of the surcharge notification. All hotels, lodges, and other suppliers reserves the right to correct errors in both advertised and confirmed prices as soon as they become aware of the error.
TOUR PRICES INCLUDES: Accommodations as specified in the itinerarary (or similar) in standard rooms on a sharing twin basis with private facilities (where available). Single rooms are available at the supplement indicated but due to limited facilities in lodges and tented camps, cannot be guaranteed even with payment of single room supplement. If you have paid the single supplement and a lodge or a tented camp is unable to provide you with a single room, the supplier{s) will refund the appropriate pro-rated single supplement to you. OTHER SERVICES INCLUDED ARE: Park entrance fees, Medical air rescue services to the nearest local medical facility, hotel taxes and service charges.. TOUR PRICE EXCLUSIONS Tour prices do not include visa fees, airport departure taxes, any beverages, laundry, telephone calls, flights unless specifically mentioned, gratuities and all other expenses of personal nature. CANCELLATION BY YOU: If you are forced to cancel your travel arrangement, you must notify the supplier(s) in writing. Cancellation fees will be based on the date the supplier(s) receives written notice of your cancellation and are listed: * Cancellation received more than 35 days prior to commencement of services: No charges. * Cancellation received 35-21 days prior to commencement of services will forfeit 50% of the total cost per person plus any special cancellation fees imposed by supplier(s) for special services. * Cancellation received 20-14 days prior to commencement of services will forfeit 75% of the total tour per person plus any special cancellation fees imposed by suppliers(s) for special services.
* Cancellation received 13-0 days prior to commencement of services will forfeit 100% of the total tour cost per person. If clients are forced to cancel any portion of the tour while in progress, there is no refund for any unused services. Participants are urged to purchase cancellation insurance. CANCELLATION BY THE SUPPLIERS If he supplier(s) is forced to cancel your services (for reasons other than your default in payment), the supplier(s) will offer you the choice of purchasing alternative services (and paying a supplement or receiving a refund in respect of any price difference) or receiving a full refund of all monies paid them, except in cases where the suppliers cancellation of service is due to lack of participants, or circumstances beyond control of the supplier(s), such as force majeure event(s). The suppliers(s) will also pay you compensation in the amounts listed below. Cancellation compensation: * If supplier cancels your service more than 56 days prior to departure, no compensation will be made. * If the supplier cancels your service 56-43 days prior to departure, you will receive US$ 25 per person cancellation compensation. * If the supplier cancels your services 42-29 days prior to departure, you will receive US$ 45 per person cancellation compensation. * If the supplier cancels your services 28-15 days prior to departure, you will receive US$ 65 per person cancellation compensation. * If the supplier cancels your services 14-0 days prior to departure , you will receive US$ 90 per person cancellation compensation.
CHANGES TO SERVICES: If you wish to make any changes you must notify the supplier(s) immediately in writing as soon as possible. BY THE SUPPLIER (S) Under certain unusual and unforeseen circumstances, such as events of force majeure, the supplier(s) may be forced to change or cancel services while the tour is in progress. This is extremely unlikely but if the situation does occur, the supplier(s) will be unable to make any refunds, pay you any compensation or meet any expenses you incur as a result. The supplier(s) reserves the right to make changes to and correct errors in brochure and other details. If these changes occur more than 14 days prior to commencement of the services, the supplier(s) will make all reasonable efforts to notify you of such changes. In the event of these changes are significant, the supplier(s) will provide you with the option of accepting these changes or to cancel service. In the event you choose to cancel your services because of these changes, the alternate arrangements (and paying or receiving a full refund of all monies paid to them). In addition, in the event of significant changes by supplier(s) will pay you compensation as advised earlier. In all cases, the supplier will determine whether changes meet the criteria if significant in order to determine whether additional compensation will paid. No compensation will be paid and no liability beyond that mentioned above will be accepted by supplier(s) where changes are as a result of circumstances beyond direct control of the supplier(s) and /or in the case of force majeure events. DELAYS: No supplier(s) is responsible for the provision of international flights. Further, suppliers are not responsible for any losses or additional expenses incurred should any delays or cancellation of connecting international flights or onward connections.
