Linden McKinley Class of 1973 - 50th Class Reunion Advertising Proposal

CLASS OF 1973

Dear Local Businesses, Alumni, Linden McKinley Stakeholders, and Community Stakeholders,

The 1973 Class of Linden McKinley High School in Columbus, Ohio, achieved remarkable feats during their senior year. One student had the privilege of working as a DJ at the legendary Radio Station WVKO, the city's premier Soul/R&B station. They collaborated with renowned DJs like Eddie Saunders, Kirk Bishop, Bill Moss, and Les Brown. Another student would call in to Les Brown's show and report on high school news. The Senior Class Officers organized city-wide dances at the Columbus Bush Armory, known as "Back at the Bush," which were announced by the WVKO DJ.

These Friday night dances attracted students from near and far and became historic gatherings with not a single incident. The proceeds from these dances were used to purchase stage curtains for the school's auditorium, trophy showcases, and to reduce Senior Class dues. As high school seniors, we were bright, creative, and innovative, displaying genuine love for our classmates, community, and alma mater. We were committed to making a difference in our community and school. Now, fifty years later, we still have a burning desire to create an impact as we organize another significant "gathering" this summer.

We are thrilled to announce our 50th High School Reunion in August. The theme is "Jubilee in '23 - A Precious Moment in Time." It will be an elegant evening filled with dancing, fine dining, fun, and surprises at the prestigious Mozart's venue. Our goal is to "WOW" at least 100 guests, who will have the pleasure of enjoying a prominent guest speaker, stellar live entertainment, and door prizes. Tickets can be purchased through the 73lindenpanthers website until August 1, 2023.

To enhance this memorable celebration, we are creating a beautiful keepsake program for each classmate, with the support of generous sponsors.
