She’s ignored her mom’s pleas to learn about her heritage and spent most of her time just trying to blend in. But when her family ends up dead in a freak car accident, and the powerful book of spells Larissa was supposed to inherit goes missing, Larissa is forced to face the embarrassing side of her life, and what she finds isn’t pretty.

Evolution is contagious, and there is no cure. There is no cure for love. The world is ruled by dragons. The human’s only protection is the Dragon Guard, magic-wielding humans with a secret. The magic is a disease. The more they use their powers, the sooner they will turn dragon. When Joi is infected she falls in love with a young guard named Conner. She must find a cure to save him before he hatches. But is the cure worth the price?

Homeowner’s Guide To Plumbing Getting To Know Your Toilet How to find the brand and model of your toilet?
Manufacturers will usually stamp their brand name and model number on the underside of the tank lid or on the back wall of the tank itself. It will also have a stamp date of when the toilet was molded. For Example: Kohler Toilets always have had a K-0000 number. American Standard will always have a 0000.000 number. Below is a simple diagram which may help you identify the more common parts of a regular toilet.
Not every flapper is equal Toilet flappers differ from brand to brand and
also by age. If you have one of the following brands of toilets you may not be able to use a universal flapper. • American Standard • Kohler • Toto Jerry Says: “When fixing a toilet do not throw away your old parts until you know for sure that your new parts are working.”
What to do if your toilet is leaking? The first thing you need to do if you suspect
that your toilet leaks, is to find out where it is leaking from. 1. If your fill valve turns on at random intervals, it might mean your flapper is letting water pass into your toilet bowl. Thus draining your tank, and making your fill valve refill the toilet. 2. If there is a puddle of water on the floor it can mean three things. It is either leaking from the bowl wax, tank to bowl gasket or tank-to-bowl bolts. First put a drop of food coloring in the tank. If one of these gasket’s are leaking then it will need to be replaced.
Jerry Says: “Make sure your water is turned off under the toilet before you start working. If you do need to replace the valve make sure it is a quarter-turn valve.”

Homeowner’s Guide To Plumbing Know Your Faucet
Startling facts about a leaky faucet? Did you know that if your faucet drips five times a minute you will waste over five gallons per day, 2,082 gallons and fourty-one bathfulls a year in water. The best and easiest solution is to fix your dripping faucet as soon as possible. Not only does it waste water, a leaky faucet can cause the body of your faucet to corrode. This forces you to replace the valve . Even if it there is no access to the faucet itself.
How do you know what faucet you have? Some faucet manufacturers have their name/ initials/logo stamped on the faucet itself. Other’s, mainly import faucets, will have nothing at all. The easiest way to know what brand of faucet you have is by the cartridge/stem which is inside. The handle of the faucets does not always help in identifying brand of the faucet. The handles may have been changed or could be a universal/fitall handle. It is best to try to identify the faucet by the stem first. Newer Faucets have ceramic cartridges. Older faucets use what is called a compression type stem. This means that when you turn the handle it compresses a washer at the end of the stem on to a brass seat.
See diagram below:
What to do if your faucet is leaking. For most compression type faucets you change the seat washer at the end of the stem and also the brass seat if it is leaking. Compression style faucets sometimes leak out of the handle itself. This means that either an oring or the packing need to be replaced. This means that you need to add packing or replace the current packing. This is true for kitchen, bathroom, tub and shower faucets. Ceramic style stems will start to leak when dirt, rust or debri are mixed with your water and are pressed the two ceramic surfaces in your stem. Any scratch on those surfaces will make your faucet leak. Spouts on kitchen faucets will leak over time. This is because there are two o-rings, one at the base and one closer to the handle, which will keep water from leaking past. All kitchen faucets which have a swing spoout has o-rings which keep it from leaking. After time o-rings will wear out and need to be changed. They should also be lubricated with silicone grease. Jerry Says: “What is so special about silicone grease is that it helps preserve and lubricate rubber parts. It also does now swell or soften.”

Homeowner’s Guide To Plumbing Leaky Hose Bibb’s How to fix your hydrant?
Hose Bibb Basics
You may know them as spigots, hydrants, or hose bibbs. Hose bibbs can easily become a homeowners worst nightmare. Most new houses will have what is called a hydrant. See Picture to the right. It is now code to have a outside hydrant with a vacuum breaker or anti-siphon device. An anti-siphon divise is prevents water that could siphon back inside your main water line. This can easily happen when a garden hose is left immersed in a body of water (pool, pond etc.). This can create contamination of the local water supply. Although these hydrants meet code requirements does not mean that you have to intall one. If the project in which you are working is not going to be inspected by the city then you do not need to have an anti-siphon hydrant.
What brand of hydrant do you have?
Many of the brands have different color handles associated with them. Here is a list of what colors normally corespond with their brands:
• Arrowhead- Green • B&K- Red • Mansfield- Green • Nibco- Blue/Tan • Prier- Green Oval Handle • Watts- Blue (NLA) • Woodford- Tan/Grey
Jerry Reccomends: “Woodford is best when replacing yourcurrent hydrant. It has many replacable parts available.”
You will have to take out the stem of the faucet in order to see what is going wrong. The stem of the faucet can be 4” to 24” long. This is because the further back the water is in your wall the less likely it is to freeze during the winter. Some models have a beveled washer at the end others you will need a seat kit. It really varies depending on the brand of hydrant. The best thing to do is bring it in and we can help identify what may be wrong. Jerry Says: “Always use the right tools when repairing anything. Pliers are usually not the best answer. Use a crescant wrench and a pipe wrench.”
How to fix the old fashioned hose bibb?
Older houses will have a compression style hose bibb. These are more likely to leak because they are compression style and must be shut off inside the house. Usually with a valve which is called a stop & waste. This helps a homeowner drain the water that may be left in the valve which could freeze and expand the line. The best thing to do if it is leaking is to just replace it. Even if it is between two galvanized pipes.. If the handle is broken you may be able to find a handle to fit. The stems of these valves are not interchangable.

Homeowner’s Guide To Plumbing
Six Simple Maintainance Tips for a Leak Free House 1. Water Heater Check your water heater often for leaks if it is 5 or 6 years old. The regular warranty time on most water heaters is 5 to 6 years. This means that one day it will leak and you will have to replace it. Although in some cases water heaters can last for a lot longer. If your basement is finished you may want to invest in a water heater pan. This will have a drain in which if you water heater is leaking it will drain into your floor drain instead of causing damage to your finished basement. 2. Sprinkler System Make sure you disconnect the water to your sprinkler system every year. If there is water in your line it can freeze and burse the pipes. Many sprinkler systems have what is called a stop and waste. This means you can turn it off with a sprinkler key. If your sprinkler system does not have a stop and waste you may need to blow out your line with air pressure to make sure the water gets out and doesn’t freeze your lines. 3. Hydrants & Hose Bibbs Before the winter always make sure your garden hose is disconnected from your hydrant and hose bibbs. Garden hoses retain water in them and when water freezes it expands and can travel vertical to your hydrant causing it to burst and freeze inside your house. Before you use your hydrant in the spring look at it and see if it is frozen. Turn it on and then check to see if it leaking inside your house. A plumber once told me that people flood
their basements too easily in the spring because they turn on their hydrants to wash their cars or water the lawn and never go back inside to check to see if it leaking. They find out 30 to 40 minutes later and it has caused a lot of damage. 4. Faucets The best thing to remember is that if it starts to leak fix it right away. WARNING: Do not let it linger on for months and let it make holes in the valve body. You will have to replace the whole valve. You will need your whole stem to determine what brand of faucet you have. A handle does not always help you. Remember always use the right tools when working with a chrome or special finish. 5. Toilets Same as faucets, if it is leaking fix it right away before any damage occurs. Not every toilet is the same. Not every flapper in the toilet will look or work the same. Remember the more expensive the toilet the more specific parts it will need to be repaired. Which means that you will not find the parts at any of the big-box stores. WARNING: Never overtighten the bolts on your toilet. Toilets are porcelian and will break. 6. Swamp Cooler If you have a swamp cooler make sure you winterize it. Drain the water out of the cooler and disconnect the water supply and let it drain.
