The capsule collection “OBSCURITÉ” for Autumn/Winter 2017/18 explores the unique juxtapositions that exist within the personal exploration of self-identity, particularly of the populations in urban environments. Split into phases, each individual phase explores contrasting themes: the juxtaposition of revealing your identity while simultaneously attempting to conceal it. The four phases each find their roots in the forms of the urban environment and how this environment sways its inhabitants; their attitudes, their ideas and how they present themselves to the world.
OBSCURITÉ is a collection purely in black and white; the stark contrast a nod to the conflicting phases, the coinciding darkness and light of city life. The collection is mixed; with garments for both men and women, nevertheless, they are envisioned to be worn by anybody who seeks OBSCURITÉ.
