FORMATIVE EXPERIENCE / CV DARIANA-MARIA NISTOR Highly motivated Part I Architectural Assistant looking to gain professional experience in a creative architectural practice. My entire design philosophy stays in the challenges that occur during the design process, which I always look for in a brief and thus, enjoy to overcome. For me, the ‘puzzle work’ behind a finished product is just as important as the result itself. My educational architectural journey has been a narrative of constant curiosity which I am eager to transfer further into my career. I strive in a teamwork environment and my personality defines me as being very competitive and ambitious. My social and communication skills are great assets of mine, demonstrated by my professional achievements. I have always been a creative individual, trying to see possibilities everywhere, which I address further on with pragmatism.

A hotel, a hostel and a habitat come together to create the 3h building. Three volumes appear as a monolithic piece of architecture when viewed from the outside. While approaching, a new world reveals itself through the geometric play of shapes, dynamic geometry created by the glass facades. A building that looks out to its surroundings, ďŹ tting in with the local athmosphere, while also looking inside to the people, to its soul, creating an inner, micro universe.

It is a building designed for social awareness, a building for everyone. A hotel and hostel following the principles of traditional tourism accommodation, while a habitat environment oering shelter for people in need. Three separated volumes, linked by their own entities, in a wish for togetherness and acceptance.

THIRD YEAR PROJECT HOTEL DESIGN HUDDERSFIELD, UNITED KINGDOM [concept, modelling, renderings, presentation]
A Co-housing project sits on the premises of an old derelict factory, from which only the tower and external walls still stand. It is a conservation project, with a complete new building which is connected to the external walls of the factory, the tower looking over the entire community. The internal spaces interlock with the external arrangement, the green all-around balconies offer social opportunities. The scheme will accommodate young families, elderly persons and students, offering both separation and privacy, but also inclusion and a feeling of belonging.
Fixby Winery is an extension project, linked to the Grade II listed Georgian Fixby Hall. The arms formed by the extension hug the old building, in a wish to protect what it is inside. The extension is both subtle and elegant, but also dynamic and parametric-oriented. The Voronoi pattern that forms the structural skin mimics the growth of the vineyards which will be planted on the site. The extension aims to offer a journey, from a wine taste hall, to a greenhouse restaurant and culminating with an underground exhibition of wine bottles and barrels, the finished product.
SECOND YEAR PROJECT EXTENSION DESIGN HUDDERSFIELD, UNITED KINGDOM [concept, parametric modelling, renderings, presentation]
Fixby Hall -> Golf Club old building keeps the same purpose
basic shape of the extension, intersection between Fixby and Winery in the central point: Fixby room, the future meeting room
apply the concept of embracing and suggest dynamic and geometric shape to contrast the old building
extrude shapes to give volume
stretch the upper level of the northern wing for more space in the hotel rooms gradually push the southern wing into the ground, while keeping the same volume
North Extension -> Accommodation | Events Hall | Exhibiton Space north extension oers additional services to the winery
Fixby Hall Fixby Hall
South Extension -> Restaurant | Wine tasting | Greenhouse | Shops | Underground Terrace south extension oers the main space for wine tasting, while also acting as a ramp
By having the southern wing gradually going into the ground, a ramp is formed for the people to walk on and get straight to the second level of Fixby Hall. Furthermore, the extension dissapers into the ground, leaving Fixby main facade untouched and extension is present, but it does not cover the old building.

HudUni Pavilion offers a space inside the University Campus for students to meditate. Taking advantage of the canal and the greenery surrounding it, the pavilion lies at the connection of the path and water. It offers a dynamic experience, movement of the body position is required if one wants to proceed further. Three areas inside the pavilion form the experience: crawl, stand, sit. The journey culminates with a space for meditating over the water, surrounded by nature. It represents a paradox created inside the busy campus.

Castle Hill Visitor Centre aims to come as a sensible solution for a scheme designed at the boundary of the most important landmark of the town, a scheduled ancient monument. The project aims to encapsulate the attention to its surroundings, offering views and pointing towards three different strenghts of the site: ancient Victoria Tower, busy town and scenic hills.
