Names for the 29 World Travel Awards nominees have just been compiled. By default, Tanzania has been nominated again to contest for Africa's Leading Destination in 2022, a title which the country won during the last year awards’ results. Fighting to retain the crown this year, Tanzania is competing against Kenya and South Africa in the category. The country is also fielding nearly 20 entries in the 2022 race for Africa’s best travel and tourism features and properties. The incumbent Serengeti National Park for instance, returns to defend Africa's Leading National Park title against its twin destination, the Maasai Mara Game Reserve on the Kenyan side and Kruger National Park of South Africa. Tanzania has two cards in the Africa’s Leading Attraction 2022 segment, these are Mount Kilimanjaro and Ngorongoro Crater. These will try to wrestle the crown from last year’s winner, the Table Mountain of Cape Town, South Africa which contends by default.
