The hnited Nations Development Program ;hNDPͿ is supporting the Tanzania Association of Tour Kperators ;TATKͿ to revive the Tanzania tourism industry to spur other businesses, recover thousands of lost jobs, and generate revenue to the economy. Wildlife tourism in Tanzania continues to grow with nearly 1.5 million tourists visiting the country annually, earning the country $2.5 billion ʹ equivalent to nearly 1ϳ.ϲ percent of GDP. This cements its position as the country͛s leading foreign currency earner. Additionally, tourism provides ϲϬϬ,ϬϬϬ direct jobs to Tanzanians and over one million others earn an income from the industry.

BEHIND TANZANIA-FRANCE ICON PASSES AWAY

GĠrard Pasanisi, a renowned French national who devoted his entire life to foster tourism development and wildlife conservation in the country as well as diplomatic ties between Tanzania and France, has died at 94. Mr Pasanisi, who came into Tanzania 1967 with love of tourism and wildlife conservation, passed away peacefully on August 1ϯ, ϮϬϮϬ, aŌer a short illness. ,e would be buried on August 1ϴ at Nice, a seaport city in Southeastern France. The man, who spent 4Ϭ years in Tanzania, is credited to have poured his energy into nurturing the current multi-billion-tourism industry, and spearheading wildlife cons. Dar Life passes its sincere condolences to family, friends and those who are touched by his death. May his soul Rest In Peace.

The worldwide CKsID-1ϵ pandemic certainly is a human tragedy which affects millions of people around the world. The Tanzania Tourist Board has carefully monitored the ongoing crisis and due to this Tanzania Tourist Board regret to inform you all that the ϲth edition of SITE ϮϬϮϬ which was scheduled to take place from 2nd to 4th October, 2020 has been postponed , in the interest of all stakeholders and to be ready for next year, the tourism show which will take place from 6 th to 8 th October 2021 at the Mlimani City Conference Centre, Dar es Salaam with a well-prepared networking platform to meet Θ greet each other aŌer a long time, and to promote Tanzania and East Africa tourism activities again.
