We’re a city bound together by a vital, collective spirit. One fueled by western values that grow more relevant in a changing and challenging world. We invite the world to gather with us at Stampede Park, so be sure to use your planner to make the most of your Calgary Stampede visit. Each year at the Park you’ll find new attractions like the Bell aqua ranch H2X Extreme Watershow, an amazing aquatic adventure, or the ENMAX Corral Show: Family Feud Live!™, which is, you guessed it, the live version of the TV game. Of course for the tried and true Midway fans, we’ll have a host of exciting rides, food, games and entertainment. From the zipper to everyone’s favourite, the mini donuts, the Midway will be alive with sights and sounds.
Best wishes,
Bob Thompson President and Chairman of the Board Calgary Stampede

Animal care
General Information
Animal Care at the calgary Stampede
66
The care of all the animals involved in sport, ranching, education and exhibition activities is one of the most important priorities of the Calgary Stampede. Whether it’s at Stampede Park or at our Stampede or OH Ranches, people and science are at the heart of our animal care approach. This is why a team of veterinarians monitors all animals, particularly the performance horses in events like chuckwagon racing, team penning, rodeo and heavy horse competitions. In 2011, the Calgary Stampede initiated a significant and progressive performance horse health program called Fitness to Compete (FTC). The program is designed to provide guidelines, information and medical support to assist equine owners in managing and caring for the elite horses they bring to participate at the Stampede. Last year, in partnership with researchers from the University of Calgary, we began a clinical study on chuckwagon horses that will provide detailed information about the metabolic changes and cardiac electrical activity of horses that compete regularly through the use of electrocardiogram (EKG) equipment.
The Stampede continues, as it has over the past decade, to work with both the Calgary Humane Society and the Alberta SPCA, who attend every day to provide an independent assessment of the care and attention given to all animals that are brought in for the 10-day Stampede. The Stampede is confident that our progressive approach to animal care is appreciated and understood by the millions of Calgarians, Canadians and international visitors who are true fans of The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth. So, as you watch the Rodeo or the GMC Rangeland Derby, or if you are wandering through the Agriculture barns, you can be confident in the care and treatment these magnificent working animals are provided. And that this care is being provided by good people. It proves once again that We’re Greatest Together.

The residents of the Indian Village represent the five tribes of Treaty 7: Tsuu T’ina, Stoney Nakoda, Siksika, Piikani and Kainai. The Village has 26 tipis with selected tipis open daily for visitors to enter and experience the artifacts of days gone by. Since the early days the tipis have competed for ‘Best in Camp’ and are judged on everything from size to design, the inside and outside displays, and the beadwork

In the business of delivering energy, we connect with many special places. Places rich with character and history. Places generous with people and lessons learned. Places defined as much by an unwritten code of conduct as by the remarkable scenery. These foothills have taught us about integrity and respect. That’s why we’re giving back through the Calgary Stampede Foundation’s Citizens of Tomorrow Program. It's a program dedicated to keeping alive the timeless western Canadian values so needed in a modern world. In every community we serve, we learn that how we do business is as important as what we do. These lessons have made us one of the Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World.
