LOOKING AHEAD

The Cayman Islands real estate market is enjoying strong performance across all product categories. A total of 827 properties sold in 2019, representing approximately US$638 million in sales. CIREBA reports that due to a limited supply in the prime Seven Mile Beach area, demand is growing for canalfront properties that provide views and water access, and availability of inventory may become a bigger issue than price. Dart Real Estate is confident in the long-term outlook of real estate in the Cayman Islands. Tax Neutrality There are no income, property, corporate, capital gains or inheritance taxes in the Cayman Islands. A one-time stamp tax (land transfer fee) is applicable on real estate sales. Ease of Access The Cayman Islands is one of the closest Caribbean destinations to the United States mainland. Direct flights from Miami are just over one hour in length, and flights from New York City are three and a half hours. The Owen Roberts International Airport has just been completely renovated with capacity to welcome two million visitors annually.
