The Autumn period is often a fruitful time for new releases after the drought of summer and this year in particular we certainly have a bountiful programme to be happy for. A new Almodovar, a foreign language Oscar winner In A Better World, two great new British dramas from classic texts, Jane Eyre and Tinker, Tailer, Soldier, Spy, as well as the best Woody Allen in years - the delightful Midnight in Paris show that promise has been more than fulfilled. Finally, what better way to say goodbye to the summer than three epic movies in a great big setting? Our outdoor film festival - running as part of Totnes Festival - puts three fantastical films into the Tiltyard on a 40ft screen. It promises to be an extraordinary experience so don’t miss out. Saturday matinées belong to kids!
24
Welcome to the very first BarnKids programme! We’ve taken our regular Saturday Matinees and added some new stuff to make them even better. We start our new programme with our Barn Owl as inspiration and look at some of the most interseting animals put on film. OK, some of them aren’t real but Kung Fu Panda’s Po is just too cool to miss out on! Our first special event just for members is on 17th September when Will - Dartington’s very own Nature Warden - will join us before the screening of One Life (the amazing big Screen version of the BBC’s Living Planet Series) to talk about all the great animals who live right beside us. More information on all the films in our Un-Natural History series and other exclusive events will be in the first newsletter.
Un-Natural History Whether you like your animals real or animated you’ll find them all at The Barn
