BIG GREEN|GAME NOTES THIS WEEKEND The Dartmouth women’s hockey team continues its four-game homestand with a weekend slate against No. 2 Cornell and Colgate. Friday’s contest with the secondranked Big Red will mark the end of a 10-day hiatus for the Green after having last played No. 5 Boston College to a 3-3 tie on Nov. 12. LAST TIME OUT Dartmouth is unbeaten in its last four games (3-0-1), keeping that streak going with a late push against the Eagles. Senior Reagan Fischer scored twice in the third period to overcome a 3-1 deficit after two periods to pull her team even and force the tie. Her second of the night came with just 1:16 remaining in the third as her wrister from the low circle found space under the crossbar for the gametying goal. BACK-TO-BACK When the Big Green step on to the Thompson Arena ice Friday night, it will

Boston College came to Hanover with the No. 5 ranking in the country, while Cornell brings with it the No. 2 spot in this week’s polls. The last time Dartmouth squared off against a team ranked inside the top five in consecutive games was when it played No. 2 Cornell in the ECAC Hockey Championship Game and then again in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on consecutive weekends in 2011. AGAINST CORNELL The top team in both ECAC Hockey and the Ivy League standings, the Big Red currently sit No. 2 in both the most recent USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls. These two teams split last year’s two meetings with each winning in the other’s building. Both times, the visiting team narrowly edged out the hosts with a one-goal win as Dartmouth took a 5-4 game in Ithaca (Nov. 11), while Cornell won an overtime contest, 1-0, at

Thompson (Jan. 21). A Frozen Four team from a season ago, the Big Red come into the weekend having won its last seven contests. The team scored nine goals in each of its last two games, sweeping a home-and-home with Colgate last weekend, 9-0 and 9-2. Junior forward Brianne Jenner leads the league with 2.29 points per game as she has 16 points (8g/8a) in just seven games played. Classmate Lauren Slebodnick has posted an impressive 1.79 goals-against average so far and is 5-1-0. Sophomore Katelyn Pippy has proven to be a more than capable backup as she is 3-0-0 and boasts a .952 save percentage and a 0.78 goals-against mark. AGAINST COLGATE The Raiders have had a tough go of it this season, sitting 11th in the ECAC Hockey standings at 0-5-1 with one point. Overall the team is 3-9-1 with just one win in the last month; a 2-1 home victory against RIT on Nov. 9. Dartmouth swept last year’s series with a 2-0 road win (Nov. 12) and a 4-3 overtime victory in Hanover (Jan. 20). In fact, Colgate has not defeated the Green in the last two seasons (0-4) and is just 5-29-2 all-time against Dartmouth. Senior Brittany Phillips leads the team with nine points on three goals and six assists. Classmate Jenna Klynstra also has six assists to tie Phillips for the team lead, while Miriam Drubel and Jocelyn Simpson each have three goals as well.

Goaltending duties have been split between freshman Ashlynne Rando and sophomore Susan Allen. Both have GAA figures north of four (4.11- Rando, 4.41 – Allen) and neither has a save percentage of at least .880 (.878 – Rando, .865 – Allen). NEARING 100 With her two goals and three points against BC, Fischer is closing in on the 100-career point milestone. Her gametying goal in the final minutes was her 40th in a Dartmouth sweater, while she also has 53 assists for 93 career points. Fischer is looking to join classmate Camille Dumais who reached the scoring milestone late last season and now has 107 points (47g/60a). Fischer’s 1.33 points per game ranks 27th in the country and is one of just seven players in the top 30 to have played fewer than 10 contests thus far (all Ivy League players). SPEAKING OF 100 Barring any lineup shakeups, Dumais and fellow senior Margaux Sharp will play in their 100th career games on Saturday when they take to the ice against Colgate. Entering the weekend, five members of the senior class are all within five games of the century mark. Sasha Nanji (97GP), Jessica Gagner (96GP) and Sally Komarek (95GP) should all join the club before the start of 2013. Fischer (104GP) reached the figure in October in the team’s matchup at Quinnipiac.

NOVEMBER 23-24, 2012 • vs. CORNELL & COLGATE BIG GREEN|GAME NOTES (cont.) RECEIVING VOTES Following the tie with the No. 5 Eagles, Dartmouth is starting to gain traction in the national polls. The USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine women’s rankings have the Big Green just outside the top-10 and receiving votes for the second week in a row. BERREMAN’S BLAST Not known as a goal-scorer, senior defenseman Lisa Berreman found the back of the net just 8:37 into the opening period against Boston College with her team on the power play. The marker was just the second for Berreman in her career. She now has four points on three assists and that power-play goal this season. In her 89-game career, Berreman has 19 points (2g/17a). outing. It marked the third time that she had multiple assists in a game. STANDING TALL Junior goaltender Lindsay Holdcroft withstood an early barrage of shots in the first period against BC. The Pittsburgh native stopped 11 in the first and finished the game with 22, including three in the five-minute overtime period, to remain unbeaten this season in goal (3-0-1). Her .875 winning percentage ranks as the fourth-best figure among qualified goaltenders this season (minimum 33% of team’s total minutes played). STRONG STARTS It’s been just six games, but head coach Mark Hudak has to be pleased with what he’s seen from some of his younger players so far. Freshmen Lauren Stacey and Lindsey Allen rank as two of the top young point-producers in the nation to this juncture. Stacey’s point per game average (1g/5a) is tied for 12th in the nation, while Allen is 15th at 0.83 per game (3g/2a). ONE-LOSS TEAMS Only five teams from across the nation remain with just one loss or fewer. Minnesota is the lone unbeaten program (14-0-0), while Mercyhurst (12-1-1), Cornell (8-1-0) Harvard (4-1-0) and Dartmouth (4-1-1) round out the quintet of teams with just one blemish on its records. Dartmouth can also boast that it is the only school in the country where both the men’s (5-1-2) and women’s (4-11) teams have just one loss this season. ROAD SWEEP The Big Green came away with their first road weekend sweep since Jan. 27-28, 2012 (also at Brown and Yale) when they knocked off the Bulldogs and Bears Nov. 2-3. Dartmouth defeated the Bulldogs, 5-4, in overtime, before downing the Bears, 1-0, the following night.

NOVEMBER 23-24, 2012 • vs. CORNELL & COLGATE HEAD COACH|MARK HUDAK Mark Hudak enters his 10th year behind the bench for the Big Green and 15th season with the program. Last year, he guided the team to an 18-10-2 record with a 14-6-2 ECAC Hockey mark. The 2011-12 squad advanced to the ECAC Tournament for the eighth time with Hudak at the helm, falling to St. Lawrence in the First Round. During his tenure as the head coach, Hudak has coached two All-Americans, an Ivy League Player and Rookie of the Year, an ECAC Hockey Player and Rookie of the Year, along with two first team All-ECAC Hockey selections, seven first team All-Ivy performers and an ECAC Hockey Goalie of the Year. He also has tutored four U.S. and Canadian National Team members who have combined for seven appearances at the last three Winter Olympic Games. During the 2010-11 season, Hudak helped the Big Green bounce back from a down 2009-10 season, leading Dartmouth to a 22-12-0 record with appearances in the ECAC Tournament Championship and the NCAA Tournament. The team ended the year ranked eighth in the nation. During the season, Hudak earned his 150th career victory and his 100th ECAC Hockey victory. Also that season, Hudak served as an assistant coach for the U.S. Women’s National Team at the 2010 Four Nations Cup and at the 2011 International Ice Hockey Federation World Women’s Championship at Hallenstadion. He was ultimately named the 2010-11 New England Hockey Writers Association Coach of the Year. In 2009, Hudak led Dartmouth to its seventh NCAA Tournament appearance and fifth of his coaching career. The Big Green also won their fourth ECAC Hockey Tournament and second under Hudak. During the 2008-09 season, he passed former head coach Judy Oberting for second all-time in career wins. Now, with 180 victories to his credit, Hudak is just 14 wins away from tying George Crowe as the all-time winningest coach in program history. During the 2007-08 season, the Big Green made the ECAC Hockey semifinals for the fourth time under Hudak. He achieved two milestones that season, posting his 100th career victory with a 6-4 win over Mercyhurst on Dec. 16 and leading Dartmouth to the program’s 500th win on Nov. 17 with a 4-1 win against Yale. In 2006-07, Hudak led the Big Green to a record-tying 27 victories for the second time during his tenure as head coach. It was his third 20-plus win season since taking over the program in 2003. Hudak helped his team to its first ECACHL regular season championship since 2002 with a 16-1-1 regular season mark in conference play. The Big Green won the Ivy

League, ECACHL regular season and ECACHL Tournament in the same season for the first time since 200001.

Career Record: 184-90-23 2 Ivy League Titles, 2 ECAC Tournament Titles, 1 ECAC Regular Season Title, 6 NCAA Tournament Bids

During Hudak’s second season as Dartmouth’s head coach in 2004-05, the Big Green posted a 27-8-0 mark, garnering second-place regular-season finishes in both the ECAC Hockey League and Ivy League. Dartmouth qualified for the ECACHL Championship and then knocked off Wisconsin in the NCAA quarterfinals to reach its fourth NCAA Frozen Four. The 27 wins tied a single-season program record, and allowed Hudak to reach the 50-win plateau faster than any other coach in program history.
