Entry from garage into mud room with lockers and ample storage

style pillars, stone, brick and solid wood siding, and an attention-grabbing roof line with multiple peaks. At once traditional and modern, the view from curb offers a sign of the uniqueness within. The two-storey 19 Weybridge Lane home offers 5,182 sq. ft. of living, plus 760 sq. ft. of attached garage space – more than enough for two cars plus all the lawn tools and toys, camping gear and sports equipment you own (or have borrowed and not returned). The access ramp, one of the home’s many universal-design features, leads from the garage to the basement and is wide enough for any mobilityassistive device, including a wheelchair, walker or scooter. With its own Velux sun tunnel to light this area of the house, the garage is a bright, open area that’s ready to take you to the rest of the home. This room is both elegant and easy, a cozy and spacious spot to catch up on some Netflix on the large flat screen TV or enjoy a get-together with loved ones. The beverage centre with copious wine storage located between the family room and the kitchen begs for fun gatherings. The laundry room is large enough to fit an in law who may have overstayed their welcome, while the guest room is perfect for anyone else. And the Master? It is a study in blue – upon entering, one can feel the day float away. An impressive Juliette balcony in this amazing master suite overlooks the family room below. The ensuite has a massive no-threshold shower that is a nod to European bathing rooms, as well as a vanity and soaker tub fit for a spa. On the opposite side of the master suite is the walk-in closet/dressing area that will suit any number of suits! Were you to go downstairs from the main living floor, you’ll be in recreation heaven. From the pool table to the home gym, the walk out to the backyard or the separate cinema room with 5.1 Dolby sound system, it’s the spot to gather, to play, to eat and to work off all that movie popcorn all on one floor. As for the décor of the lottery home, as is true of every year, interior decorator Meg Wallace of Harmony Interiors is the creative brains behind the stylish operation. A black and birch theme runs throughout the home, and was indeed the starting point for the decorator. “This year I was struck by the contrasts between black and natural birch, and between black and gold,” says Wallace. “I was inspired by a soft, muted, antique matte gold which would be rich against the black and surprising against the light shades of birch wood. I knew I wanted to do a black and natural birch staircase from day one.” Continued >>>

Black shows up in the home’s appliances, kitchen backsplash, paint trim and wood trim on the staircase railings, the light fixtures, drapery, and in the upholstery. However, were one asked to recall the main colour scheme in the house, it would be unlikely they would include black in the description, yet the theme transitions subtly from room to room. “The black is what sparks the other design elements and makes them pop,” says Wallace. “It’s a sophisticated yet minimalist colour scheme that shows off the dimension and colour shading of the birch. It’s dramatic and warm at the same time.”

An interior decorator for over 30 years, Wallace is an expert in all details of new home construction, renovation work, and all types of interior requirements. She has partnered with Cresco on various home projects for over 16 years. With too many exciting and unique features to fully describe, it would be truly remiss to not mention the elevator. Yes, all three floors are accessible by the Savaria home elevator, which was engineered and manufactured in Canada. Driven by electric motors and counterbalanced just like a commercial version, this beauty is smartly decorated inside with a New York city scape on the walls.
