hen it comes to checking out new and innovative building products, contractors and DIY-loving homeowners can feel like a kid in a candy store at the Real Home Show. This will be the seventh year that Mike Connors, owner of Capstone Building Products, has been setting up a booth at the Real Home Show – and his fifth year as a major sponsor. He loves the opportunity to chat with like-minded people about new products, reliable favourite products, and how to best tackle their latest projects. “The Real Home Show gives homeowners a chance to meet builders, renovators, contractors, and suppliers, and ask all of their questions,” says Connors. “It also gives contractors a chance to meet with their suppliers, and learn more about new products they want to start using.” Specializing in high-level building and renovation products for home exteriors, Capstone Building Products is known for being on the leading edge when it comes to innovative products. Connors says Capstone remains aligned 22

with leading industry manufacturers like IKO Industries, Owens Corning, Extreme Windows and Doors, Wayne Dalton garage doors, MoistureShield composite decking, and Century Aluminum Railings. At the Real Home Show this year, Connors expects to be fielding a lot of questions about renovations, as more families choose to wait to sell their home until the market improves. “New decks and rail systems have been very big over the last year, and consumers interested in outdoor living solutions should consider the distinctive, durable, and long-lasting beauty of Century Aluminum Railing systems combined with MoistureShield composite decking products,” says Connors. “They’re warranted for on-ground, in ground and under water usages, and we’ll be displaying both of them at our booth.” Composite decks are attractive, durable, and don’t require the level of upkeep as a traditional wooden deck. “No new trees are cut down to make MoistureShield decking – they’re made

from 95 per cent recycled content,” says Connors. “By putting in a 12’ by 12’ MoistureShield deck, you’re actually saving 110 gallons of gas and reducing greenhouse gas by more than 600 lbs. of carbon dioxide.” Capstone is a big supplier of Century Aluminum’s railing systems, and Connors says homeowners admire their “distinctive look and durability.” “They have a sleeker look, with picket or tempered glass,” says Connors. “They’re premium powder-coated – which eliminates the need for painting – and they’re very easy for homeowners to install.” Connors encourages homeowners to come prepared with questions, so he and his team and help steer them in the right direction. “Just visiting the Real Home Show for a day will be time well spent – and a wise investment in the future success of your project.” Capstone Building Supplies is a major sponsor and proud supporter of The Real Home Show
