The Prime Minister of England, Theresa May visits Nigeria on Wednesday 29 August,2018.She promised Nigerian Government to provide more military equipment to protect its citizens against the Islamic insurgents in Nigeria.

She arrived FCT-Abuja as part of her visit to African countries. May said tackling the "menace" from groups like Boko Haram was in the UK's interest, and also agreed a £10.5 million package to help victims of modern day slavery which is illegal trade in Nigeria. Shortly after her arrival, she proceeded to Presidential Villa in Asokoro for a 2-Days official meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari. She signed bilateral agreements with Nigeria’s Government: Security. Partnership, aimed at boosting economic between both countries. President Buhari assured May of his commitment to conducting free, fair and credible elections in 2019 and commended UK Government for the supports. “I assure you that I’m all out for free, fair and credible elections. I’m very pleased that my party is doing very well,” the President was quoted in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina. Buhari told May“ The High Commissioner will brief you more. The recent successes in polls in Katsina, Bauchi, and Kogi have boosted our morale greatly. "We are determined to work side by side with Nigeria to help them fight terrorism, reduce conflict and lay the foundations for the future stability and prosperity that will benefit us all," Mrs May said. Why is Nigerian First lady Mrs Aishah Buhari not invited to meet the British Prime Minister.
