Bierton Strict and Particular Baptists were formed as a Protestant Calvinistic church in, 1831 whose articles of religion are set out in the appendix of this book. Sadly all but one of its members died in December 2002 and their chapel was closed for worship and sold as a domestic dwelling in 2006. David Clarke remains to sole remaining member and he joined the church in 1976 and is the author of this book. The authors personal testimony is told in his book, ‘‘Bierton Strict and Particular Baptists’’, published and listed under further publications at the rear of this book. The author withdrew from the Bierton church over matters of conscience in 1984 as the church allowed the teaching of general redemption and would not correct this error. This was contrary to their articles of religion. Despite his succession the author remained a member of the church. This was due to the strict rules of church membership as the church was a Gospel Standard cause whose article governing membership determines only the church can sever one membership, either by honourable transfer to another church of the same faith and order dishonourable dismissal. The church never did terminate the author memberships they wished him to return. This book seeks to tell of the continuing work of the author as the sole remaining member of Bierton Particular Baptists seeking to fulfill his calling as a sent minister of the Bierton Church seeking to preach and teach the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ which it continues today in an International capacity. A full account of the authors succession may be read in, ‘‘The Bierton Crisis’’, published and listed under further publications at the back of this book. Bierton Particular Baptists has worked in the Philippines continues to function in the UK and supports a work in Pakistan. The difficulties that the author faced after his secession for
4 FOREWORD BY THE PUBLISHER the Bierton church were many and he relates them fully in his book, ‘‘The Fall, Desperation and Recovery’’, published and listed under further publications at the rear of this book. During the period 1984 through to the present time many changes took placed all of which are told in the authors book, ‘‘Converted on LSD Trip’’ which was the first edition of, ‘‘Bierton Strict and Particular Baptists’’.

2 HISTORY OF OUR MISSIONS TO THE PHILIPPINES 2 History Of Our Missions To The Philippines
7
The first mission to the Philippines was in October 2002 with the objective and bringing assistance to Michael Clarke, the Authors brother, a Co-director and founding member of Trojan Horse International CM, and other prisoners in the Philippines. Due to the success of this mission a further mission was engaged in 2002 to 2003. Our mission log is recored in, ‘Before The Cock Crows’, Part 1, II and III; alternatively , ‘‘The Daily Diary of Trojan Horse International’’, Published and listed under further publication at the rear of this book. Michael became a Christian and turned his back on his criminal past. His story of conversion is told as Testimony 41 in our book ,‘‘Trojan Warriors’’. (Testimony 41 Inmate Michael John Clarke) It was this news that prompted the writing of David’s first book, ‘‘Converted on LSD Trip’’, published and listed at the rear of this book. In this David tells of his early life, conversion from crime to Christ and his missions to the Philippines to bring assistance to his brother Michael and preaching the jails of the Philippines. These Mission was called Trojan Horse International Christian Ministries Christian Ministries. Return From The Philippines On returning to the UK in 2003 the author encountered further difficulties after seeking to join in membership with like minded believers which resulted in him be rejected from seeking such membership. This was due to him holding scriptures views in the Sabbath. As a result he republished Dr. Prideaux book, The Doctrine of The Sabbath, published and listed under further publication at the rear of this book. The work of Bierton Particular Baptists continues to this day, publishing printed and electronic ePub books, video and audio books. We had a large collection and library of Christian books. https://www.BiertonParticularBaptists.co.uk

These articles of religion are an extension of and a more comprehensive set of the original Bierton Particular Baptist articles of 18318. These articles are written as a means of edification and for clarification, we do not expect each person seeking to join the church to fully understand all points mentioned as they are the weightier matters of Christian religion9. It is believed the son of John Warberton from Trowbridge signed and witnessed the deed.
The Articles are as follows: And whereas certain persons meet together and with the blessing of God will continue to meet together for the purpose of divine worship at a chapel or place of worship adjoining the said hereditament and called the Bierton Baptist Chapel and the said persons call them selves “The Society of Particular Baptists” and such persons are herein after meant and referred to by the expression of “The Church” and the said persons believe and pledge themselves to the promulgation and support of the tenets
26 or articles of faith herein after set forth, that is to say, 1 They believe that the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are given by inspiration of God and are the only rule of faith and practice and that these scriptures reveal the one true and only God who is self-existent, infinite and eternal. That there are three self existent co-eternal persons in the Godhead namely the Father the Son and the Holy Ghost and these three are one God and that the Lord Jesus Christ is very God and very man in one glorious complex person. 2 That Before the world began God did elect a certain number of the human race unto everlasting life and salvation whom He did predestine to the adoption of Children by Jesus Christ of his own free grace and according to the good pleasure of His will. 3 That God created Adam upright and all his posterity fell in him, he being the federal head and representative of all mankind. 4 That the Lord Jesus Christ in the fullness of time became incarnate and that he really suffered and died as the substitute for the elect of God only and in their stead whereby he made all the satisfaction for their sins which the law and justice of God could require as well as made a way for the bestowments of all those blessings which are needful for them for time and eternity. 5 That the eternal redemption which Christ hath obtained by the shedding of his blood is special and particular that it is only and intentionally designed for the elect of God who only can share its spiritual blessings. 6 That the justification of Gods elect is only by the righteousness of Christ imputed to them and received by faith without consideration of any works of righteousness done by them and that the full and free pardon of all their sins and transgressions is only through the blood of Christ according to the riches of Gods grace. 7 That regeneration, conversion, sanctification and faith are the work of the Almighty efficacious and invincible grace of God the Holy Ghost. 8 That all those chosen by the Father, redeemed by the Son
27 and sanctified by the Spirit shall certainly and finally persevere unto eternal life. 9 That there is a resurrection of the dead both of the just and the unjust and that Christ will come a second time to judge the quick and the dead when he will consign the wicked to everlasting punishment and introduce His own people into his kingdom and Glory where they shall be for ever with Him. 10 That baptism of believers by immersion and the Lords Supper are ordinances of Christ to be continued until His coming again and that the former is absolutely requisite to the latter, that is to say that only those are to be admitted as members of the church and participate in its privileges including the ordinance of the Lords supper who upon profession of their faith have been baptized namely immersed in water in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. And that no person who has not been baptised as afro said shall on any account be permitted to sit down or commune at the Lords table within the said school room and whereas for the purpose of giving effect to the objects and intentions of the parties hereto and of the said church it has been agreed that the said Hereditament’s shall be conveyed to the trustees upon the trust and for the purpose hereinafter contained and these present have been approved by the members of the said Church meeting called for that purpose and held at the said chapel on or before the date Hereof The indenture further witnesseth that in further pursuance and consideration of the premises they the trustees do hereby severally covenant and agree amongst themselves and with each other and with the church that they the trustees their successors and assigns shall and henceforth stand and be possessed of the hereditament And premises herein before conveyed unto them upon trust to dedicate and devote and preserve the same for the purpose of holy and divine according to the tenets or articles of faith herein set forth. That the election of any future pastor of the said church and
28 the removal of any pastor shall be decided by the vote of two thirds of the church assembled at a regularly convened church meeting together with the object for which it is convened having been publicly announce for four successive Lords days. Signed and Witnessed by John Warburton Jr. 1831 Bierton Particular Baptists Chapel The Closure of the Bierton Chapel The Bierton Chapel closed for worship on 22nd December, 2002 this was whilst Mr David Clarke, the sole remaining member of the Bierton Church was an mission work to the Jails of the Philippines. Mr Clarke joined the Bierton church in 1976 and was called by the Lord and sent by the church to preach, in 1982. The Bierton church had become a Gospel Standard church in1981. However due to serious errors in doctrine David succeeded from the church in 1984 over matters of conscience but remained a member of the church due to their strict rule relating to membership. Only the church has the power to terminate ones membership as they were governed by the Gospel Standard
29 rules of conduct. A full account may be read in, “The Bierton Crisis12”, available from Amazon.co.uk. In July 2003 Mr Clarke returned from mission work in the Philippines and was informed by Mr Crane, the Bierton church overseer that the Bierton chapel had been closed for worship, on the 22nd December 2002 due to the last church members death. David recalls that this time in December that it was exactly the same time he was continuing his ministry, preaching and teaching the Gospel in Baguio City, where 30 souls had confessed their faith in the lord Jesus. This was the work of William Poloc13, who was our sent man. As a result David baptized 30 souls who had been added to the Church, so confirming the ministry of William C. Poloc. David baptized them in his capacity as a sent minister from the Bierton Strict and Particular Baptist Church. The Bierton Chapel Disposed Off In July 2003 Mr Crane suggested Mr Clarke return to Bierton and reopen the chapel and he informed him that the Association of Grace Baptist Churches LTD (South East), 7 Arlington Way, London EC1R 1XA, had taken on the responsibility of the churches property. They had taken the Bierton Church Trust Deed from the lawful Trustees, Mr Janes, Mr Martin, Mr King and Mr Baumber who had expressed they were too old to bare the responsibility of looking after the chapel. It transpired that our Bierton Trust Deed had been lodged with Gwen Eliss one of our senior church member’s solicitor, which is a fact that is important when registering property with the Land Registry for the first time. They had recovered the Bierton Trust deed from the Solicitor when she died. The Association of Grace Baptist Churches LTD refused Mr Clarke permission from using because they wanted to sell the chapel and profit from the sale. They had hastily gone on with demolition work, contrary to the terms of trust, seeking to sell 11

30 the Chapel, at a profit once they had acquired planning permission. The Association first of all denied that the Bierton Church was a Gospel Standard Church and then Mr Clarke’s standing as a member of the Church. Mr Clarke gave a copy of his book, ‘The Bierton Crisis 1984’ which confirms the facts and truths of these matters along with letters of confirmation from Mr. Ramsbottom confirming the Bierton Church was a Gospel Standard cause and along with Mr. Cranes confirmation that had suggested and supported Mr Clarke’s request to re open the chapel. This was despite our strict rules of church membership which safeguard his membership as the church never terminated his membership. The Association of Grace Baptised churches insisted they were the lawful trustees despite they had not be elected but the church. Trustees were to be elected by the church and were to be men who believed and supported the Articles of Religion14 and doctrines stated in the indenture. The reality was that the Bierton Church was a Gospel Standard Cause and had no association with Grace Baptist churches. The church would never have elected this Association to be its trustees because their beliefs were opposed to the Bierton Articles articles and were those of the London 1869 Baptist Confession, and not those of our Church, which was the Bierton Church and Gospel Standard.

Bierton Strict and Particular Baptists
My Testimony and Confession Authored by Mr David Clarke Cert.E List Price: $13.99 5.25” x 8” (13.335 x 20.32 cm) Black & White on White paper 376 pages ISBN-13: 978-1508408277 (CreateSpace-Assigned) ISBN-10: 1508408270 BISAC: Biography & Autobiography / Religious There are three separate accounts in the New Testament of a man who had been possessed with devils. He had been living among the tombs and the people had attempted to bind him with chains and fetters but he broke them so he would not be bound. People were afraid of him and avoided him. He had no house and wore no cloths and the devil drove him often into the wilderness. And Jesus had just demonstrated his authority over the wind and the tempest to his disciples and now had commanded the
32 unclean spirit to come out of the man and gave leave for the legion of devils to go into the swine and as a result the man was found at the feet of Jesus clothed in his right mind. The man wanted to be with Jesus and go with him, but Jesus said no but rather got to his own city and tell of all that the Lord had done for him. And straight way he went and published throughout the whole city of all that Jesus had done for him. This book is a record of the personal testimony of the author in which he tells of what the Lord Jesus Christ has done for him it was first published on 11th February 2001 under the title Converted on LSD Trip. It is not written to glorify his past life but written as a testimony to what the Lord has done for him, despite his past sinful and criminal life. In this he tells of his early life before his sudden conversion from crime to Christ, him learning the doctrines of the grace of God and him joining the Bierton Strict and Particular Baptists church, in 1976. He tells of his succession from the church over matters of conscience, in 1984. These matters are told in detail, in his book The Bierton Crisis 1984 Even the apostle Paul told of is past life as a religious man in his own defense when persecuted by the Jews. He was a Hebrew of the Hebrews, circumcised the 8th day, Of the tribe of Benjamin, as toughing the Law blameless, not in a way of boasting but to show his past life, even though he was a religious man he considered it as worthless. He had been a Pharisee and from a religious zealous point of view persecuted the church even unto strange cities. He punished them oft in every synagogue, and compelled them to blasphemy, and being exceeding mad against them. When the Apostle Paul was arrested by the lord on the Damascus Rod he fell to the ground and Jesus instructed him that he was to make him a minister and a witness both of the things he had seen and those things He would appear to him. The author has written this book for this reason to inform
33 the reader of all the that lord Jesus has done for him and to point out those important truths of the gospel of Christ. The Bierton Crisis 1984

Bierton is a village near Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire. The Bierton Church was a society, in law, called Strict and Particular Baptists, formed in 1831 and was presided by the son of John Warburton of Trowbridge, Wiltshire. It and became a Gospel Standard listed church
34 in 1983. My succession from this church was not a separation from any other Strict Baptist church just the Bierton Church. I was not the subject of church discipline but rather I withdrew from the communion as a matter of conscience. And according to our church rules practice I am still a member. Conscience Free My voluntary leaving of this society leaves me free in conscience to relate my experiences, being bound only by the Law of Christ and not the rules of that society. The date of my secession was the 26th of June 1984. This is written believing this may help any persons finding themselves in similar situations and to point out the ignorance of some religious people. Mary, Mary Quite Contrary

This matter only relates to men and women in a Christian church. It is about the rules of the house of God, which is the church of the living God and rules for those who are members of the body of Christ and members of an heavenly county. The Suffragettes Emmeline Pankhurst 1858 -1928) was a Suffragette and worked very hard to bring equal rights for women to vote as men. In the year of her death all women over 21 gained the right to vote. The Suffragette movement brought about many changes for the better in a secular society but not so for women seeking to follow Christian principles. One of her famous quotes was, “Trust in God She shall provide”. Terms which do not reflect Christian beliefs. We know God will provide and He is not a she. In the USA and the UK, women’s political rights were brought into general political consciousness by the suffragettes and since then there have been legal rights granted to the Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender groups, same sex marriages, along with the development of the feminist movement and the appointment of persons from the LBGT community to responsible positions in the Church of England. All of this has caused conflict in the Christian community due to differences beliefs of right and wrong. This book seeks to show what the bible has to say about the role of women in the church and family. Since these rules are taught by the Apostles of Christ they are the word of God to us and we should obey. The secular world may differ and turn from the narrow path taught in scripture but we should follow the word of God, this is our wisdom.

BA, Bch. FRCPsych. DPM “Converted on LSD Trip” This book, the personal testament of David Clarke, in an autobiographical style. It charts his life, which became one of crim-
37 inality and drug taking though an experience in 1970 of finding God whilst under the influence of LSD. Cynics may say that this was just an effect of drugs, but it is clear that the experience changed his life. Later when in court facing charges he admitted to many other crimes and was fortunate in receiving three years conditional discharge and not a prison sentence. Since then David has combined his work as a lecturer in electronics with his mission of spreading the word of God. This is a scrupulously honest book recording both the difficulties he has faced as well as the successes in his life since 1970. A continuing worry is the fat of his brother, currently serving a long prison sentence in a Philippine jail who himself has recently found God. “This is an inspiring story of a life that has been turned from crime to a positive account and may be of help to others who find them selves directionless and involved in crime and drug misuse”. For two years he wondered what the future held for him and wondered about the the direction that he should go. This led him to severe depression thinking that God had rejected him and then to a desperate state of mind resulting in him turning away from God and to open sin. This is the continuing story of David life as told in his book , “Converted on LSD Trip”, and relates the journey that led to his fall, the desperation, recovery and restoration to faith in Christ . He tells of the good news he received of his brother Michael and his conversion from crime to Christ, that took place 5 years into
39 a 16 year prison sentence, in the Philippines. This was 30 years after David ‘s own conversion from crime to Christ, which was the moving factor behind publishing his book, “Converted on LSD Trip.” David believes this book will be very useful for people of all ages who wish to see the hand of God at work and in particular for those learning the Christian faith. There they became young criminals and were sent to prison for
40 malicious wounding and carrying a fire arm without a licence. Michael went to Maidstone prison, for 2 years, and David to Dover Borstal. On leaving Dover Borstal, in 1968 David had a 3-year career of undetected crime until he experienced a dramatic conversion and became a Christian. He turned his back on his criminal past and sought to follow the Lord Jesus Christ. He learned to read, to educate himself as he was virtually illiterate, by reading the bible and classic Christian literature. Michael was unaffected by his change and continued his flamboyant lifestyle. David went on to Higher Education, became a Particular minister sent to preach by Bierton Particular Baptists, and taught electronics for over 20 years, in colleges of Further and Higher Education. Michael formed a travel business, taking advantage the existing night life and lifestyle of sin Cities in Angeles and Olongapo Cities, in the Philippines but was entrapped and sentenced to 16 years in New Bilibid, Maximum Security Prison, in the Philippines. Five years into his prison sentence Michael too was converted from crime to Christ and it was through reading C.S. Lewis book, “Mere Christianity”, that he was convinced that Jesus was the Christ, the son of the living God. New Bilibid Prison is the largest prison in the Far East and houses over 35,000 inmates, in three compounds, the Maximum, Medium and Minimum Compounds and Penal Farms. Michael was sent to the Maximum Security Compound, housing 13,000 inmates, inside which is Death Row, where there were some 1200 prisoners, scheduled be executed by lethal injection. On Michaels conversion, they worked with other prison inmates and visiting religious volunteers to promote the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ within and without the prison. This book tells of David’s visit to the Philippines, as a minister of Bierton Particular Baptists, and their work in New Bilibid Prison with other prisons in the Philippines along with prison inmates, seeking to assist them in their reformation. That is he did not say how this was to be done. David, the author of this diary, puts forward the reason why no specific terms were give as to how to go about the tasks and with good reason. This was because had He given a detailed and specified schedule it would have proved too daunting to his disciples, due to the frightful dangers and opposition that they would meet. So instead He left the methods and practices open to the imagination of men who had been renewed in their minds by the Spirit of God, and with the directions written in scripture. By this means God would be glorified and often the carnal religious mind would be infuriated. It is only when one seeks to obey the command that it is realised that wisdom, determination, courage, skill, diplomacy, in fact every skill that man has devised in terms of dealing with money, travel, visa permits, medical practices, local laws, legal practices and customs are required and in general with fallen man. This book Before the Crows (Part2) tells of the opposition this mission experienced when seeking to bring the gospel to the prisons in the Philippines and in particular those in New Bilibid Maximum security prison. It covers the period 1st January to March 24th 2003, and relates how the directors of this work were forsaken and let down by others due to ignorance and ignoring scripture principals but as a result Trojan Horse International (TULIP) Phils. For as we read in the Acts There rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees, which believed, saying, that it was needful to circumcise the people, and to command them to keep the law of Moses; whereof the Sabbath was apart: Which in
47 the general, as the apostles labours to suppress in their first General Council, held in Jerusalem: So did S. Paul, upon occasion of whose ministry this controversy first began, endeavor what he could against the particular, shapely reproving those which hallowed yet the Jewish Sabbath and observed days, and months, and times, as if he had bestowed his labor in vain upon them. But more particularly in his epistle to the Colossians, Let no man judge you in respect of a holy day or of the new moon, or of the Sabbath days, which were a shadow of things to come but the body is of Christ. Both which expressions of Paul are in this following discourse produced to this very purpose. Yet notwithstanding all this care both generally of the Apostles and more especially of Paul to suppress this error; it grew up still and had its patrons and abettors. This reproduction of, ‘The doctrine of the Sabbath’, by Dr. John Prideaux has been presented for those who have been troubled by the insistence of those religious people who insist that the first day of the week is the Sabbath day and to be kept holy, as dictated by the law of Moses. It is not. We include also Dr. John Gill on the subject of the circumstances of public worship as to place and time. It is the view of this publisher that the time and place of Christian worship it is a matter for the Christian community to decide and is not legislated in the scriptures.
