i am a creative, ambitious and dedicated young man looking for the opportunity to kick

start my architectural career. i believe that with the skills developed over recent years, combined with a high level of enthusiasm and passion, i can contribute highly to your practice.

i have recently completed my masters degree at the university of liverpool, with first class honours, and cannot wait to compete in the professional world whilst continuing to develop my own skills, experience and architectural style.

ARCHITECTURAL EXPERIENCE software

skills

bm3 architecture

- birmingham

at bm3 architecture, i worked both in groups and by myself, on planning applications and autocad ecotect revit sketchup photoshop indesign archicad microsoft office

final drawing packages for housing masterplans and urban apartment blocks. my time here gave me the chance to work in a building sector i had little experience in, learn more

about the dynamics of a larger practice, whilst also increasing my sketchup, autocad and photoshop skills.

seymour harris architecture

- birmingham

during my time at seymour harris i was fortunate to operate in a variety of riba stages

on numerous projects. my tasks included; planning, detailing, model making, and facade studies. the majority of the work was in the educational sector but i was given an insight

into all sha’s projects when asked to enhance older drawings and photos for the firm’s new website. i matured as a professional very quickly, learning a considerable amount about the industry’s gritty side

-

budget cuts, cost-obsessed clients and the resulting

consequences; learning the importance of detail and how to ensure a projects design is carried out precisely when working difficult clients and contractors. education bolton school boys’ division a-levels: art, maths, psychology as-levels: physics gcse’s: 4 a’s 5 b’s and 1 c

broadway malyan

- manchester

after part 1, i participated in a short placement scheme with broadway malyan. whilst

mainly working on my own project, i was given the opportunity to get involved in some of broadway malyan’s projects. assisting architects, technicians and planners on numerous

schemes in the education and accommodation sectors, this brief experience showed me

the quality and commitment standards required to be successful at a practice of this size.

jm architects

- manchester

at just 15, jm architects educated me in the world of work, not just architecture. from

attending meetings with engineers and contractors to creating models for clients, i gained a general insight into how an architectural practice works. the impression i got from this brief trial was the catalyst i needed for a pursuit into an architecture career.

i have carried out my masters degree over the past two years at liverpool

university; during which i was selected to participate in the semester abroad scheme in dessau, germany. throughout the course i have worked on multiple

group and individual projects; ranging from a technical drawing focused elephant house scheme to a conceptually driven project tackling the refugee crisis; culminating in a dissertation and thesis this year.

- style and religious identity as a site for conflict - cottonopolis: reigniting industry through innovation. the experience gained at both universities, from multiple tutors with completely different approaches to design, has only added to my desire to further my architectural education professionally. dissertation thesis

- architecture and environmental design

in three years of study i gained a broad but detailed appreciation of many different aspects of architectural design from the historical influences to technical detailing. i also developed a large environmental understanding due

to the strong attention the course gave to passive environmental strategies in design and research.

AWAY FR O M AR C H ITE CTU R E away from architecture i keep myself busy both professionally and socially; working part time promotional work and participating in as much sport as my free time allows; whether it be rugby, football, golf, cycling or cricket. in

recent years the majority of my sporting attention has been focussed on cricket. whether i’m coaching junior teams on friday nights, representing the 1st xi team on a saturday, or completing 1000 mile charity cycle ride to raise money for the club; i’ve been a member at astley bridge cricket club with growing

responsibilities for two decades. the club has taught me invaluable lessons in community, teamwork, leadership, loyalty and charity and has helped mould me into the person i am today.
