For us, it was wonderful to have an almost white Christmas in Colorado with our American family. Here is a quick update on our last couple of months. We've spent a lot time in the car! In the last six weeks alone we have covered well over 3,500 miles & still need to return to Missouri from Colorado. In November we were able to travel to Peoria, IL for the International Conference on Missions. The whole family really enjoyed it. The kids got some special attention at their children's program and got to meet other missionary kids. Sandy and I attended workshops, connect with other missionaries, meet up with old friends and supporters & receive a whole lot of encouragement. We were also able to coordinate a school trip for CCCB student to attend the conference as well. During the weekend three of those students committed their lives to full time mission work. After the conference, we spent Thanksgiving in Colorado with family and we connected with more supporters. Apart from that, we've been all over Missouri meeting new people, connecting with churches, seeing family & getting the word out about 3 Measures & Namibia.

Back in Moberly, our work at Central Christian College of the Bible has been going well. We're enjoying spending time with the missions students, our teaching opportunities and being a part of the missions program there. Reese is homeschooling & Avi is attending a local preschool. They both seem to be doing well where we are right now. Reese is struggling with some homesickness for Namibia, but we can see God has been working in him since we've been here. Perhaps the best thing has been the incredible support our family has had. Reese just turned six and we were blessed by all the people who came out for his party. Avi had a preschool Christmas program & Phil and Theressa Marley came out just to see him. Things like that have meant a lot! As I said, we are in Colorado now, we came for Christmas and have a professional debrief the second week of January with Mission Training International. We are very much looking forward to it, each member of our family will receive specialized counseling and care as we continue to adjust and sort through some of the difficulties we faced on the field. Thanks to Pikes Peak Christian Church for arranging this for us! After the debrief we'll head back to Moberly just in time for the next semester. We're looking forward to the rest of our time in the States & to a lot more miles (already planning a trip to Indiana early in 2018), but we are also very excited to get back to Namibia when the time is here.

Thanks for your prayers and support, David, Sandy, Reese & Avi Echols

Support Although we will be located in the States for an extended "home assignment," we will continue to rely on support & will do our best to operate on the same budget while we are away from Namibia. We will however, need to raise that support level before the start of our next term in Namibia. Upon our return we will need to be prepared to pay more for rent and to pay school fees for both kids. If you would like to join the work of Three Measures through a monthly commitment or one-time gift, simply go to www.3measur.es/donate OR return the included response card OR contact us at support@3measur.es.
