I’m a young architect recently graduated in Building Architecture at Politecnico di Milano. I enjoy the interaction between architecture, design and engineering and I would like to examine in deep this relation in the working field. This interest led me to study the relationship between structure and architecture, as well as the communication process. These aspects, as you can see in the attached portfolio, have marked some of the most significant projects I have dealt with until now.

PROJECT 01
The Greco Breda railway yard is developed along the Milano-Monza line, separating the Bicocca’s residential district from the Precotto’s residential area. The main aim of the project is to reconnect these two parts of the city through the redesign of the public space, especially through the new bridge of the Milano Greco Pirelli railway station, which becomes a hub for the new masterplan redevelopment of the ex-railway yard. The project of the station aims to present structure and architecture in a deeply tied way, since they’re conceived as nondivisible elements.

PROJECT 02
In the brownfield of Caserma Mascheroni in Milan we hypothesized the creation of a new university campus where “Grande Brera” could be established. At the beginning of this exercise, an accurate functional program was defined, in which were included classrooms, offices, laboratories, a library and an auditorium. The concept of the project refers to the principle of the central court which becomes a place where new and pre-existing buildings coexist harmoniously. The project was developed by studying the structures through the use of structural design software as SAP2000. In addition, we studied the technological aspects of the ventilated facades that define the skin of the new university buildings.

PROJECT 03
The project focuses on an primary school located near the shores of Lake Como. The environment is characterized by a suggestive view of the lake and the mountains. It was fundamental to design in plan and in section at the same time, because the site had an irregular terrain with a total slope of 7 m. What gave character to the project was the individuality of the classroom, which was enhanced by providing each classroom with an open space for lesson and recreation, creating independent space units connected to each other through a central path with ramps. Common functions have been placed at the beginning and end of the path as project regulator items.

PROJECT 04
The area of the ex-Alfa Romeo of Arese includes a big part of the northwest territory of Milan, which has been used as parking lot during Expo 2015. The project becomes an opportunity to experiment a new residential model for the post-expo period. The starting point was the idea of a village, meant as a place where social relations within a limited space, define a new community. Urban underwood redefines the concept of limits, it is no longer a physical one but rather a shell system that offers protection from atmospheric agents. We designed a provocative solution, defining an intentionally utopian project, in order to better characterize the starting point.

PROJECT 05
The project is developed in Caserma Mameli area in Niguarda (MI). The design exercise had to be compared with the needs of the area, and consequently the functional layout has been defined according to the deficiencies within the neighborhood. At the same time, the topic of the reuse in the abandoned buildings of the barracks area has been studied. The final product of this exercise consists in a project that plays on the alternation of full and empty, a regular grid of buildings and open spaces, whose rigidity is broken by two paths that allow the usability of different spatial typologies. This is a wellrecognized hierarchy, in which we find three central elements around which the entire composition rotates.

PROJECT 06
For the Milan Design Week, The School of Architecture, Urban Planning and Constructing Engineering promotes every year for all PoliMI students an exciting design contest. The project is composed by a cube covered by a dual sloped roof that allows the element to be connected on both directions. The composition simplicity has two main consequences: an accurate work on the design of the joint and the ease of assembly. No site-specific project. No site-specific project.

PROJECT 07
In this project I took care of the design and the set-up of Russia 1917, an exhibition I followed from its design concept to its execution on-site. The challenge of this project was to find a solution that could work well with the low budget available. This led to the realization of walls made of a wooden skeleton, some parts of which were covered by a semi-transparent fabric that characterized the image of this exhibition.
