Joseph Hackmey United States Classic Covers THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION OF USA CLASSIC COVERS, FORMED BY ONE OF THE WORLD’S GREATEST COLLECTORS! Joseph Hackmey, rdp, frpsl, is an unquestioned heir to the mantle once worn by Ferrary, Burrus and Caspary. Of course, Mr. Hackmey has chosen a further arena in which to compete, that of competitive exhibiting, andhas won more Grand Prix and high level awards than any other philatelist, for subjects as diverse as Persia, Chile, France, Romania, Holy Land, Ceylon, New Zealand, Turkey and Switzerland. He has used the resources, the philatelic knowledge and the connoisseurship for which he is well known to build collections (reflected in his exhibits) that have matured into the finest of their kind - in fact, many are widely considered to be the finest ever formed (a feat increasingly difficult with the widespread dispersal of philatelic items world-wide). His philantrophy, his business acumen, his love of the finest things of life are all legendary; he is a reknowned collector of books and fine art as well as postage stamps & covers. We are indeed honored to have been chosen by Mr. Hackmey to present this collection at auction.
