We already know the details, and any supporting materials. dates for the Speech contests at District level. This makes planning the date for the Division level “Area Governor Training” contests easier. Because the contest dates are earlier, the whole calendar is brought forward. One of the first tasks the new club officer board will need to do. Is to agree on the club budget, and have it It was recommended that depending on the distance agreed at a club meeting. This is vital that you as an needing to be traveled within your Area. That the Area Governor , help and assist in this task. One of the key initiatives is allowing the The calendar is available on Google docs share: Divisions to propose its own budget for the year. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/19deG84qGb This is funds, requested from the District, to aid in rsyJV3UmK7cVfYQoT_aDkv-3PpgDTXIP9A/edit? club growth, membership building, contests and usp=sharing training events. The most important message is that the Humorous speech and table topics contests. Deadlines are contests need to be scheduled at the club level, to be held during August. Due to the summer break in the Nordics, this means there is not a huge amount of time to prepare, if you do not act on this immediately. “Perfect is not a way to do business. AREA Division G – Nordic Countries Our Division comprises 7 Areas. Each Area has its own Area Governor. Each Area Governor (AG) will have their own support team, that each AG hand picks themselves. The AG's support team, have the titles such as Assistant Area Governor Education & Training, Assistant Area Governor of Marketing, Assistant Area Governor of PR, etc. However this is only historical. You are free to be creative, and use your own support team titles if you choose. Support team titles are unofficial Toastmaster roles. Meaning no official credits, or recognition awards are defined for the supporting team. However, these roles are usually grooming roles, for future AG's, and District leadership positions. All assistant roles, are the Area Governors support team, and known as the Area Council. Typically the Area Council arranges the Area contests, and speech contests. As well as actively, and proactively supporting clubs reach full Distinguished Club Program points (DCP points). Area Governor List: G1: Roseline Olomina, Stockholm International G2: Svetlana Breum, Aarhus TM G3: Liselotte Kolmberger, Lundby TM G4: Jesper Caron, Borås TM G5: Josephine Andersson, Göteborgs Talarklubb G6: Matilda Smeds, Helsinki TM G7: Luis Garcia, Virtual Speakers Division Governor: David Gelkin Asst.Div.Gov Edu &Training: Leena Rantala Asst.Div.Gov of Marketing: Matteus Åkesson Asst.Div.Gov Treasurer: Dhiraj Paryani

As this is a new process, it will require the assistance of the Division Council. The Division Council is the Division Governor as Chair person, and the Area Governors of the Division. We will have at least 2 scheduled meetings to discuss, and resolve issues and solutions within the whole division. The first issue being the creation of the Division budget proposal to the District. Until the proposal has been submitted and accepted, the division has no financial resources. As you can guess, this is a HIGH PRIORITY task that needs to be done as soon as possible.

As in the popular quote from past World Champion of public speaking, Darren La Croix. Perfection is I will be sharing a budget template with each area not our objective, on our planning. We are aiming to governor to complete. This will be the basis of our get the task we set out to accomplish done. overall Division budget. Obviously Area Governors who have a larger distance to travel between clubs in Part of the planning process, requires knowing what their area. Will have a larger travel requirement than is actually supposed to be happening. In the Area Governors who's clubs are closer together. And willing to act and implement the actions needed to make this a reality. -DGAll Area Governors will be given a District officer

DECM - News The District Executive Council Meeting (DECM )in Krakow was very eventful this year. There was a number of motions put before the council. The inclusion of Ukraine into the District was an agenda item. A motion was floored, and seconded to postpone any Ukraine business until the regional issue, is more stable in that part of the world. Another item on the agenda, was the inclusion of the 3 Baltic countries, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. This was a passionate debate, and resulted in the proposal for these countries to be postponed until they have 4 chartered clubs. This item was put onto the agenda for review next time, at the next District officer council meeting in Germany in September. “BUDGETS” District 95 has chosen to revamp the division budgets, based on

local requirements and development needs. This is a good innovation from the district. As it allows Division governors, working closely with their team of Area Governors to work out a financial plan specific for the local geography, and economic situation. The aim is to promote club and membership growth, and club health. To enable this initiative. Area Governors will be required to submit a 'coming year' budget proposal. Items to include in the budget proposal are 2x officer training costs, and materials. 2x speech contest expenses, and promotional items, awards etc. A budget template to help plan the coming years financial needs, will be distributed to Area Governors shortly. “EXPENSE CLAIMS DEADLINE; 15th JUNE” The financial figures for the

District were presented. The conclusion being the District is in good healthy financial standing. “WE NEED MEMBERS NOT MONEY” João de Mendonça, the current serving District Governor. Said the great phrase, “We need members not money”. This highlighted the issue that, Area Governors, and Division Governors should spend the money that has already been allocated for their use. All expense claims must be submitted prior to 15h June. This is extremely important so the financial books can be closed. The next DECM will take place in Bremen Germany, on 13th-14th September. This is the date of the next District officer training session. All Area Governors and Division Governors are expected to attend. -DG-

To Do Right now I would need each Area Governor to create a years budget plan for their own areas expenses. Deadline : July 1st. The Division budget application proposal, needs these budget figures as part of the budget proposal from the District. The sooner, we have all the information. The sooner we have funds available in the division. Planning: Club officer training preparations need to be already underway. This will enable the new club officers to know, and understand their own roles before they have the first club meeting. Trainings need to happen before clubs start meetings in August.. Club humorous, and Table Topics speech contest. The date in August needs to be planned, and announced to club members. Area Speech contest preparations, and committee involvement for finding a suitable location, and creating an interesting agenda needs to be ready for September. Area Governors need to set the precise date ASAP.
