CLK ARCHITECTS ENORME STUDIO AMM STUDIO AS MEMBER OF CV 01. 03. 06. 08. CONTENTS/

As Local Architects, one of our most important tasks was coordinating all the teams.

To achieve this, we held daily meetings with Project Leaders of each discipline (Design, STR, MEP, Landscapers,...).

After the meetings, we organized the working methodology and produced documents to share information between the Design Team and the Client.

The innovative façade emerges as a fundamental part of the sustainability of the project in order to reach a net-zero energy balance.

Composed of modules with different geometries and dimensions, the façade assures the necessary sun protection while creating new spaces in the interior of the offices.

In order to simplify the understanding of the façade for the production, I was personally in charge of developing plans for the positioning of each module on the composition of the envelope while finding a simple solution for installing these modules (manufactured in a workshop) on site.

ENORME STUDiO

Ephemeral Architecture + Reformation

During the time I worked for Enorme Studio I was able to participate in the whole process: from generating the idea to materializing it. The projects we developped during that year were mostly ephemeral architecture and a couple renovation projects.

As part of a young and small team, being involved in all projects was essential. Each member of the team had to give their best in a process of constant evolution and learning, and had to be ready to multitask.

Some of my dutties were: conception of the idea, design, production of plans and renders, meetings with clients, searching for suppliers and presence on workshop/site.

Amparo Lavapiés, a building in which BEYOME is used, a system of spatial organization, in which using furniture and mobile dividing systems the spaces are transformed, and give the possibility of having in a reduced dwelling, the number of situations that we could find in a larger one.

We propose the creation of various mobile systems, within each home, in which by moving these volumes, which in turn can house different interior openings with built-in folding furniture, a multitude of situations can be created in a very small space. Each client chooses what situations or dedicated spaces they want to have, how, and where.

The Mandala Lab is an interactive installation by the Rubin Museum of Art that invites curiosity.invites curiosity about our emotions. Consider how complex feelings show up in your everyday life and imagine how you might have the power to transform them.

Inspired by powerful Buddhist principles, the Mandala Lab features 5 thought provoking, playful experiences—including videos accompanied by scents, a sculpture that invites collective breathing, and curated percussion instruments dipped in waters—that guide you along an inner journey focused on self-awareness and awareness of others.

A flat that has its own chapter in Netflix's Amazing Inside series and has been featured as a flexibility reference in magazines around the world.

Again, BEYOME is used, a system of spatial organization, in which using furniture and mobile dividing systems the spaces are transformed, and give the possibility of having in a reduced dwelling, situations that we could find in a larger one.

To demonstrate the possibilities of the new material, the colored boards of timber have been layered together to form objects that represent the locations in which ‘otherworldly’ objects have fallen.

Contests + Renovation

During this time I worked hand in hand with the studio owner, and we developed numerous contests and a small house renovation. This pushed me to combine my theoretical knowledge of architecture, to make strong contest proposals, with the most practical part, needed during our interventions in site.

Every day was a new challenge in which we had to keep our minds open to new ideas and oportunities.

From the development of plans and renderings for contests, to the production of construction drawings in order to carry out the renovation, my tasks would change constantly, pushing me to always give my best.

CONTEST

Our proposal’s founding principle is the understanding of the location as a place of transition between an urbanised and built-up area, and an agricultural and fruit-growing space of the landscape.

It is a mediator between these two urban realities, with the intention of diluting the natural barriers..

CONTEST

Social sustainability is the main objective of the project, which finds in well-managed public rented housing its strongest point.

The building, understood from the competition rules as a theoretical exercise, offered the public housing management company a wide range of possibilities.

RENOVATION

The need to create a new living space in the home led to the creation of this project, in which comfort and high-quality materials are key elements.

Through the development of simple but careful small interventions, the result is an unified space in which we achived the desired objective while maintaining a tight budget.

SupraKampus is a theoretical proposal looking to revive the city of Zagreb, Croatia: specifically, the university campus, which is the oldest in the world.

Due to the constant deterioration of the city throughout the 20th century, it is now a multicultural city but with a huge problem: the decaying infrastructure and lack of maintenance. SupraKampus will try to maintain and reuse the existing conditions, while proposing a new series of spaces.

As the main character of the intervention, we have the container, whose dimensions are determined by the needs of Zagreb's student population. It wants to resolve the permeability of the space in which it is located, as serving the purpose of renovating one of the most complex areas of the city: the train tracks.

Inside, the programme compresses all the existing elements of the University City of Zagreb and adds those that are missing. Compiled through surveys of young people themselves, SupraKampus becomes the place where education takes importance as a engine of change.

In this way, it solves a shortcoming of the city, gives the population a space where things are possible, and creates links between different social classes.

Master Final Project

Alterhão is the result of the natural evolution of a building for its survival in time. How to avoid the disappearance of the Bolhão Market, keep it as a landmark of the city and preserve its functionality. Transform a centennial building so that it makes sense today, but in a way so it does not cease to be what it is, not loose its essence.

To achieve this, a reorganization of the interior space is carried out which allows the market to continue being a market while becoming a Center for the Production and Research of New Foods. What is this, you may ask? Well, a space dedicated to developing forms of sustainable food and cutting-edge production techniques. A program capable of coexisting and completing the market, in which all the products generated in the Center end up being sold in the market.

This way, the cycle is closed. Alterhão shows what happens inside, discloses new production techniques and integrates new products that will gradually become normalized.

For all this to be possible, the adhesion of two new grafts that complement the existing one is necessary, providing it with the necessary infrastructure to develop both uses.

3ds Max + Vray

Having mastered 3D modelling tools such as Rhinoceros and rendering engines as Lumion and Enscape, I wanted to discover more complex programmes that would allow me to take my renders a step further.

With this in mind, I decided to enrol in the MA in Architectural Vizualization offered by Butic School.

The first part of the Masters focused on the use of 3ds Max and some of the most used plugins (Forest, Rail Clone,...). The main rendering engine we used was VRay.

During this part, we also rediscovered the importance of postproduction, for which we used Adobe Package.

During the second part of the Masters, we are learning how to work with Unreal Engine.

At the moment, while still attending the Masters, I use my free time to continue challenging the limits of these programmes and expressing myself through them.
