JESUS IS SUPR David Hathaway
Hebrews 1 NIV I want to share with you my years of experience, based not just on study of the Bible and prayer, but also on my practical experience – which has given me a different understanding of Scripture. The Book of Hebrews is not like the other letters in the New Testament, it’s not to the Church in general, but specifically to the Jewish people who had become followers of Christ. The Jewish people had so much tradition going back to Moses and the prophets – and they knew their Scriptures very well. But although the teachings, rituals and traditions pointed to Jesus – and they were looking for His Coming – when He came, only a small number recognised Him, believed in Him and followed Him. And of these, many later were tempted to fall away from Him, back into the old traditional ways. After all, who was this Jesus they had begun to follow? It’s to these people that Paul is writing, trying to reveal to them who Jesus really is. It’s quite intriguing: Who is He? Hebrews 1:1-2 (NIV) says, ‘In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days He has spoken to us BY HIS SON.’ God speaks to us! I’m always conscious, God speaks! He speaks to me very clearly, in different ways. He speaks to me through Scripture, He speaks when I’m in prayer. There is no question: God speaks! Some years ago, one of my brothers said to me in front of my staff, (referring to the Scripture, ‘You will hear a Voice behind you saying, this is the way, walk in it’), “I’ve never heard that Voice...” But my reply was, I’ve always heard that Voice. Someone called me on the phone recently to say how, 30 years ago, it changed his life when he saw how I spoke, how I acted, what I did, “Clearly”, he said, “under the instruction of the Lord Himself”. I believe I have lived my life under His instruction, direction and guidance. God does speak to us – BY HIS SON. But in the Old Testament, God revealed Himself to the Jews mainly through the prophets who spoke to the people by prophetic inspiration. NOW, Pauls says, we have come to a totally different dispensation. NOW, in
2
these last days (v2), God has spoken to us BY HIS SON! This is in complete contrast to the Old Dispensation, the Old Testament, where God spoke more indirectly, through prophets, through leaders. Now, in the New Testament era, the age in which we live, God is speaking to us THROUGH HIS SON. He speaks to us more directly, more strongly through His Son than ever He could in the old days through the prophets! God has spoken to us through His Son – and this is intriguing – whom He appointed Heir of all things and THROUGH WHOM HE MADE THE UNIVERSE! Just stop here. Unlike prophets and, as we will also see, angels, God has a Son who is the HEIR OF EVERYTHING. He did not first appear 2000 years ago – He was present at Creation; the Universe was made THROUGH HIM! Genesis 1 reveals that God was not alone when He created, because in the Hebrew, the word ‘God’ is in the plural, Elohim, “Let US make…” Jesus was present at Creation, and even before – since He is the Lamb of God slain BEFORE the foundation of the world! Before the creation of man, before sin and disobedience came, God had made the way of escape for us! Let’s look at this: The Son (v3), is the Radiance of God’s Glory and the exact Representation of His Being. Jesus, as the Son, is in the SAME Image as God. Right back in Creation when God is speaking, He says, “Let US make man in Our Image!” That’s you and me. But intriguingly, it says here of Jesus, He is not just the Son, the exact Image of God and Co-Creator – it is He who SUSTAINS ALL THINGS BY HIS POWERFUL WORD! We see something very significant: the Power behind Jesus is the Power of His Word. He is – GOD SPEAKING! But coming back to the question of sin, AFTER He, Jesus, had provided purification for our sin (v3), He sat down at the Right Hand of the Majesty in Heaven! So whatever His position was in Creation, AFTER He came to live on this earth, AFTER He revealed God Himself to us, (“Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father”), AFTER He had provided a way of salvation for us, we see Him seated at the Right Hand
of God in Heaven, next to Him, our Intercessor, interceding with the Father on our behalf! He’s become our Mediator. And, because He came to pay the price for our sin, He’s now been given a NEW position in Heaven, a higher place, as much superior to angels (other heavenly beings) as the Name He has now inherited is superior to theirs (v4). What is that Name? “You are MY SON; today I have become Your Father!” (v5). Paul is quoting Psalm 2:7. And again, “I will be His Father and He will be MY SON.” 2 Sam 7:14; 1 Chron 17:13. When God brought His Firstborn into the world, when He allowed HIS SON to be born on earth as a man, He says, “Let all God’s angels worship Him.” When Jesus became the visible, tangible Image of God on earth, the angels are instructed to worship Him! God, speaking of the angels, says He makes His angels winds, His servants flames of fire. This indicates the angels have a place, a power and a position in Heaven (v7); but (v8), speaking of the Son of Man, He says, “Your Throne, O God, will last for ever and ever, and Righteousness will be the Sceptre of Your Kingdom. You have loved righteousness, hated wickedness; therefore God, Your God has set You above Your companions.” There are clear relationships and ranks in Heaven, and because Jesus was obedient and willing to come and suffer and die as a man, willing to become the propitiation of our sin, God elevated Him above all powers and authorities, giving Him a Name above all other names, that at His Name, every knee shall bow – all nations, all peoples! Because He was obedient and willing to be born exactly like us, live like us – yet was totally
REME!
without sin, so that He could become the sinless sacrifice for our sins – because of this obedience, God honours Him with the highest position. The Bible says all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God. But God did not create sinners! God created Adam and Eve, not to die, but to live! Why did they die? Because of disobedience. The first sin was simply that they listened to the temptation of the devil who, speaking to Eve, questioned, has God said? The whole essence of our relationship with God, His Power and His Authority, is that we obey Him implicitly. And yet today, even the Church is questioning God’s Word, questioning His Authority – but questioning God and His Word was the first, the original sin! Disobedience! He had forbidden Adam and Eve to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil; of all the other trees they could eat... The real problem in the Church today is that people are again questioning, has God said? In the Beginning, God created man and woman and made them different – for a purpose. Yet even in the Church it’s being said by some, you can change gender just by saying so. You can’t! God created man and woman in His Image for a purpose! Verse 10 says, ‘In the Beginning, O Lord, You laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your Hands.’ It was God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit – in the beginning – who laid the foundation of the earth and the whole universe! God spoke – this is the part Jesus played in Creation! We’re living in a time of space exploration and the new, fantastic James
Webb Space Telescope that can ‘look back’ millions of years in time and ‘see’ what the universe looked like around a quarter of a billion years after the ‘Big Bang’, when the first stars and galaxies started to form... Since light takes time to travel, if we observe an object that is ‘13 billion light years away’, it means that light has been travelling towards us for 13 billion years! We’re ‘seeing’ an object as it appeared 13 billion years ago, we’re looking back in time! But whatever you may think about all this, scripturally, from beginning to end, the Bible says God created EVERYTHING! Everything that exists, wherever it is, suns, stars, moons, planets – and the earth – God created EVERYTHING in the Beginning, whenever that was and however far back it might be! And Jesus was part of that work of Creation! But verse 11 says, ALL of these things ‘will perish’! Recently I read in the newspaper about the massive explosion of a star – the biggest explosion, the biggest ‘supernova’ yet recorded, the collapse and death of a star! All of the evidence we have from science and astronomy points to an aging, degenerating universe… Scientists even calculate when the earth will be eventually swallowed up by the sun… The heavens and heavenly bodies do not get younger, they’re getting older! Verses 11-12 say, ‘They will perish, but YOU – Jesus – will remain; they will all wear out like a garment, YOU will roll them up like a cloth, like a garment they will be changed, but YOU (Jesus), remain the same, and YOUR years will never end.’
have break down and get scrapped… Everything perishes in the end. But this is the miracle: God says of Jesus, YOUR years will never end! ‘To which of the angels did God ever say, “Sit at My Right Hand until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your Feet”’?! We imagine angels have great power; but from the moment when Jesus obeyed the Father and came down from Heaven and was born as a man and lived and suffered and died – His life and death and the miracle of His resurrection gave Him a position above every other being, above angels and all Creation, superior to all things, at the Right Hand of the Father! I need to emphasise this to you as Christians, that the most Supreme Being next to God the Father is Jesus! Jesus, the Son of the Living God! Jesus, who came and was born and lived here, physically on earth, as a man – but as the visible Image of God! By His actions, by His obedience, He demonstrated God, demonstrated His Power, His Love. I cannot emphasise enough the importance Jesus has in Creation, in Scripture, in our lives and our redemption from sin. Jesus is the epicentre of all the Power and Glory God has; He’s superior to angels, He’s the Radiance of God’s Glory, the exact Representation of His Being, He sustains all things by the Power of His Word. That’s Jesus! There’s nobody else, no other ‘god’, no other power, no other angel like Him – Jesus is supreme, and He is our Mediator, because He sits at the Right Hand of God! Father, help us understand more about the Person of Jesus! Amen.
When we look at everything around us – we get sick and we get old, the things we have wear out, the cars we

ARE YOU TURBO-CHARGED?
David Hathaway
Many Christians ask, “What can God do for me?” While this is important, you should be asking, “What can I do for God?” I’m a citizen of the Kingdom of God. I’m an Ambassador of the Kingdom of God. The power and authority I have is not my own, the Power and Authority I have is from the Kingdom I represent! What I do in my life should represent the Power which God has. My strength is not my own strength, but His. This is what drives me to greater efforts to glorify Him. I want to challenge you, what are you going to do with your Christian life to reveal God’s Power on earth? I want to share something with you of what is driving me. I love sport. Aged 91, I’ve just sold my sailboat, and I’ve just bought a power boat! I love cars, I love adventure! My favourite car is 15 years old; but I love that car because the engine has a turbo-charger. When I’m driving this car, I know the exact moment when the turbo kicks in! I start driving, and it’s slow. But I know the exact point when – whoosh – it’s away! I love that power! That should be the Church! What happened at Pentecost? The Church was slow. Pentecost came, the Fire and the Power of the Holy Spirit fell – and the Turbo kicked in! Acts 1:8 – that’s the Turbo! – You will receive Turbo-Charging when the Holy Spirit is come! Church – when the Holy Spirit comes, the Turbo kicks in! And the Power of God is released! WOW! Power! I love this Book! I love the Bible. You may think that aged 91, I’m old. But the ‘Me’ inside is young! Pentecost was a revolution in the Church. It brought change, it brought Power to a weak frightened group of believers! When we celebrate Pentecost, it’s the second greatest miracle in history after the Resurrection! Pentecost is Fire from Heaven – ON YOU! What have you done since you believed – what have you done with the gift you received when Pentecost came on you?! Where is the demonstration? Our God is POWER, GLORY! When His Power comes into our lives, we become Turbo-
Charged! All my life I’m searching for more Power, I’m never satisfied… I want to see bigger miracles, more of God’s blessing – I want God to be glorified! It says in Daniel 11:32, ‘Those who know their God will be STRONG and DO EXPLOITS!’ Exploits – that’s doing the impossible, like climbing Everest, going to the Moon… How many of us really KNOW God, how many of us actually do exploits? But God is amazing, He created everything, seen and unseen! There’s nothing God can’t do. With God all things are possible! You’ve got to come to that moment in your life when the Turbo kicks in! When I’m driving my car, I love it when the turbo kicks in; there’s a line of cars in front of me and I’m counting them off – one by one I’m going to get them! I won’t stay at the back, I refuse! When I put my foot down and get the revs to that point – whoosh – my car will do anything! But that’s what you’ve got to do in your Christian life. You’ve got to know where the Power of God is, you’ve got to know that moment when you ‘put your foot down’ and God’s Power is going to take over! You’ve got to come to that place in your spiritual experience when you KNOW the Power of God will take over! From that moment it’s no longer you – it’s God! Jesus said in Acts 1:8, when you receive the Holy Spirit, something is going to happen to you that will transform you and change you! When I was seeking for the Holy Spirit as a boy, I spent 3 months in prayer. Why? Because God was saying, “How much Holy Spirit do you want?” I wanted 99% Holy Spirit, only 1% me. Aged 15 I had to empty everything out of my life – all my hopes, my fears, my ambitions, so that God could fill me, and I could burn with Fire. And still today, I want to be ON FIRE for God! I want you to wake up and live a TurboCharged life! How? Paul says in Romans 12:1, ‘Present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to the
Lord.’ But, he says, that is only ‘reasonable service’. It’s expected of you. If you’re a servant, an employee, that’s what you do for your wage. If you want the Fire of God to burn in you, present your whole body, your whole life, as a reasonable sacrifice. Look at Leviticus 6 where God commanded the priests to put the sacrifice on the altar; He said, when you light the fire, that fire must NEVER go out! That’s the challenge in my life, even at my age: I must NOT let that Fire go out! That Fire has to burn more and more strongly! But HOW? If you want the Fire to burn, it’s not more wood – it’s more sacrifice! More sacrifice! It’s only then that the Fire will never go out. But that’s the price we have to pay! You don’t become a Christian for an easy life. My life has not been easy. God didn’t protect me from cancer, or from people who stole my business from me, He didn’t stop people who hated me from trying to kill me, He didn’t stop them putting me in a communist prison. But God delivered me through every storm, through the cancer, through the prison. That’s God! I wouldn’t have a testimony today without the storms in my life. But God demonstrates His Power in the storm! Be like Peter, get out of that boat. When the storm hit the lake and the disciples saw Jesus coming towards them, Peter was the only one who said, “If it’s You, call me!” And Peter, in the storm, got out of the boat. If you KNOW Jesus, get out of YOUR safety, get out of YOUR security. He’s calling you now! What did Daniel say? Those that KNOW God will do exploits! It was safe and secret in that Upper Room. But what a transformation when the Fire came down! Get out of your boat, come out of your place of safety! Acts 1:8 – that’s the Turbo! You will receive Turbo-Charging when the Holy Spirit comes! Church – when the Holy Spirit comes, the Turbo kicks in! And the Power is released! WOW! But YOU – YOU – must take the responsibility, you must go out and do EXPLOITS in Jesus’ Name!

Hebrews 2 KJV In Hebrews Chapter 1 we saw Jesus the Son, exalted to the highest place by God His Father. Paul is writing to the Jews, trying to reveal who this Jesus – who lived among them in bodily form on earth – really is! Going back to the previous chapter, v13ff, Paul writes, ‘To which of the angels did God say at any time, “Sit at My Right Hand until I make Your enemies Your footstool”’? Angels – who are they? ‘Are they not all ministering spirits, sent to minister to those who will be the heirs of salvation?’ Salvation is a heritage, our inheritance; we inherit it through the death of Jesus! You only inherit when someone dies. Jesus died – and we live! Chapter 2:1 continues, ‘Therefore’ – because of this amazing truth – ‘we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we’ve heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.’ Pauls says quite expressively in Romans 10:17, ‘Faith comes by hearing.’ Faith – the greatest gift, the gift that I ask for, the gift that I’ve lived by all my life – comes by HEARING! Paul is writing to Jews who have HEARD but are now in danger of letting those things they heard – slip! We need to take heed to the things we have heard, lest we forget… v2ff. ‘For,’ Paul writes, ‘if the word spoken by angels was steadfast’ – immovable, unchangeable – ‘and every disobedience and transgression received a just recompense, how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation?’ A salvation which was first spoken by the Lord Himself and ‘confirmed to us by them that HEARD Him!’ Our salvation comes FROM THE LIPS OF JESUS! The Old Testament looks forward to the death of Christ. As a boy I used to argue with my father, “How did people get saved under the Old Testament?” He would always reply, “In the Old
6
Testament, people were looking forward to the Cross; today we look back to the Cross.” Jesus is the centre. In the Old Testament, God spoke through angels, yes – even concerning what angels say – there is punishment for disobedience and reward for obedience... But how shall we escape if we neglect the word of salvation spoken by Jesus Himself?! And confirmed by the witnesses who heard Him?! The early Church didn’t yet have the New Testament. They only had the Jewish Scriptures, which we now know as the Old Testament, which foretold Christ. Paul is saying, the evidence of salvation comes through the words spoken by Jesus – heard and repeated first by the apostles, and today, by all of us who have experienced this salvation. Salvation comes through HEARING! Through hearing the Word! How can we escape death and judgement if we don’t pay attention to what we hear, which is from Christ Himself? It’s so important to preach the Gospel and to witness, because God also bears witness to the Word with signs and wonders, v4! When Jesus was on earth, God Himself witnessed as to who He was – the Son of God – by the miracles He did through Him – and which everyone saw, Acts 2:22: ‘Jesus, a man approved of God by miracles and wonders and signs’! The miracles are the confirmation, Jesus is the Son of God! That’s why we still need the miracles as the witness and evidence today! Travelling as an evangelist in all the former Soviet countries as I still do, God Himself confirms what I say by the biggest miracles – they are the evidence that the Gospel I preach is true! It is God who works the miracles and backs up His Word! Our preaching, our witnessing NEEDS to be with tangible signs, just as it had to be with Jesus when He ministered on earth. Let me ask you: would anyone have followed Jesus and recognised Him as the Son of God if He just lived an ordinary life like us?! I doubt it. But those
early Jews saw the evidence, a man appointed and chosen by God who confirmed His Word with signs and wonders, with divers miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit! But, God made JESUS LOWER than the angels in that He became a man – angels are higher than we are – and because of His obedience and what He, as a man, did for us, Paul writes in v5ff, ‘You, O God, crowned Him and set Him over the work of Your Hands and put the WORLD TO COME into subjection under Him’! WOW! Because of His obedience as a man, Jesus was put in Authority over all the work of God – PRESENT AND TO COME! Verse 8ff, ‘You put all things in subjection under His Feet. For in that God put all in subjection under Him, He left nothing that is not under Him’! God put all Power and all Authority in the Name of Jesus, so that EVERYTHING is subject to Him! ALL Powers, ALL Authorities, ALL ‘gods’ and religions, EVERYTHING. Yes, Paul adds, ‘We do not yet see everything under subjection to Him.’ We see a lot of opposition, not everyone is following Jesus! But, v9, ‘We see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels because He had to suffer death’ – angels can’t die, Jesus HAD to die – ‘but in dying He was crowned with Glory and Honour because He tasted death for every one of us.’ Scripture is clear, our greatest enemy is not sickness and all our other problems, but death. We can deal with many things, but we can’t overcome death. There’s no medicine, there’s no doctor, I don’t care if you live to 120 – we can’t avoid death. They say, only two things are certain in this world: death and taxes! The Son of God HAD to taste death for us – as a man. If Jesus is to be the Leader and the Head – Head of the Body, Head of the Church – He had to ‘lead from the front’ – to suffer and die like us, but to rise from the dead – to prove that through death, He, Jesus, has broken the curse of the devil, death. Verses 10ff, ‘It BEHOVE Him, for whom all things are, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons into
if He lived like us and suffered like us could He be our Intercessor! Glory, to make the Captain of our salvation perfect through sufferings. For both He that sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all one.’ Because He became one with us, flesh and blood, we become one with Him! Jesus was ‘not ashamed to call us brothers’ – wow, what a relationship, sons and daughters of God – brothers of Jesus! He is not ashamed of us, but v12 says, “I will declare Your Name to My brethren, in the midst of the congregation, in the midst of the Church, I will sing praises to You! Behold I and the children God has given Me!” Though we are flesh and blood, v14, we’re the children of God, the people of God! Jesus became flesh and blood like us, that through death, He might destroy ‘him’ that had the power of death – that is, the devil, v14. Jesus died so that we could be adopted into God’s family! That’s the whole purpose of the new birth! By faith we’re born again into the Kingdom of God as children, sons and daughters of God! It was not God who brought death to the human race, but the devil himself, that fallen rebellious angel! But through His death, Jesus destroyed him – Satan – who had the power of death over us! Death is Satan’s final ‘gift’ to us. When he tempted Adam and Eve to disobey God, he brought death on us all. But what Jesus has done is, He’s defeated death!!! By His resurrection, He’s proved that the power of the devil has been broken and death has no more hold on us! Five hundred were witnesses to His resurrection! We have eternal life! The Bible says so! We have it NOW! Come on! My body might die, but aged 91, this is just an old temple. The ‘real me’ can never die! Jesus has delivered me! It’s so important to realise, from the moment you’re born, you’re born to die! That beautiful little baby, just a few days old, a few weeks old – is born to die! But, here in v15, it says we who are subject to bondage to death – are delivered! Humanly speaking, we can only live for a certain number of years – but anyway we get sickness and weakness and, at the end of it, we die. We’re in bondage to death, prisoners, captive to the fact we’re going to die. You might have all the money in the
world, but it can’t stop you dying in the end. You can be a king, a president, a dictator, you can have all the power that Stalin had, that Putin once had, that anybody has – you can have all the power in the world – but you can’t stop death. We are born subject to the fear of death. How could we be delivered from this bondage? We think of angels as powerful, ‘other-worldly’ beings. We think of them as good, “Be an angel and do this for me…” Parents who’ve lost a child through an accident or sickness often say, “She’s a star, an angel in heaven…” But no. Jesus didn’t come as an other-worldly angel, He took on Himself the ‘seed of Abraham’, that is, He took on flesh and blood like us, became a man like us. It was, v17 says, necessary, essential, for Him to be ‘made like His brothers’ – like you and me. Can you understand the mercy, the goodness, the Love, and the Power of God? Can you understand that in order to make a way of escape, to break the curse and the power of the devil, Jesus HAD to be made subject to the power of the devil and all the things that plague us?! He had many enemies. There were several attempts to kill Him. When He was a baby, Herod ordered all the baby boys in and around Bethlehem to be slaughtered; an angel warned Joseph to take Him to Egypt to escape this assassination attempt... In Nazareth, they tried to throw Him off a cliff. In the Garden of Gethsemane, the burden of our sin was so strong on Him, He sweat blood… Medically, if the blood vessels in your face burst, it’s a sign you are near to death. The stress, the tension, the weight of our sin – can you imagine?! Your sin, your disobedience that you inherit, that you live with and commit – in God’s sight is so severe, it put such a burden on Jesus, that when He thought about you, how to deliver you, He was under such pressure, He almost died in the Garden of Gethsemane before He went to the Cross… Do you understand? He HAD to be made like us, v17, that in being like us, He might be our merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, making reconciliation for our sins. ONLY
We don’t pray to a Holy God who has never experienced what we experience. When we pray, we call on the Name of Jesus, because He lived like you and me! He went through suffering to the point of death, so that He would be ‘fit’ to be our Intercessor and plead on our behalf. When God the Father looks at His Son, sitting at His Right Hand – He doesn’t see His Son, He sees you! He sees me! Because, v17, ‘in everything, He ABSOLUTELY HAD TO BE MADE LIKE US, His brothers, His flesh and blood, that He might be merciful…’ Merciful, because He lived among us, He understands and knows our temptations, our weakness… Yet He lived WITHOUT SIN. That’s how He became a ‘High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for our sins’. V18 explains, ‘For that He Himself has been tempted, He is able to succour, to help, those who are tempted.’ Although Jesus was the Son of God and worked great miracles, He faced the same temptations to sin that we do – but He didn’t give in to sin. And because He has faced the same temptations that we do, and overcame them, He is the ONLY One in a position to plead with His Father: “Father, I’ve felt like them, I’ve lived like them, I was one of them – forgive them for My Sake!” Oh, what a wonderful Saviour we have! We’re not saved by angels. We are saved by God Himself who took the form of a man, and lived and died as we do, in order to break the curse of death, the power of the devil, the curse of death, to set us free – and because He faced temptation Himself without sin – to stand at your side and mine! In your darkest hour, in your blackest moment, Jesus is standing at your side to strengthen YOU, that YOU will finally enter the Kingdom and share the Glory of God with Him! O Father, just help us to understand who this Jesus really is! O Lord, grant that we don’t reject Your Son, but that we accept Him and return His Love. Amen.

HOLY GOD
– TOUCH CENTRAL ASIA! Dear Friends and Supporters in Evangelism Thank you for your support in prayer and finance, especially during my latest evangelism in Central Asia: 12 days’ ministry in Kazakhstan and one week in Kyrgyzstan. What I am seeing here, what God is about to do in these Moslem nations, HAS to be Joel’s 2nd outpouring without limit – the latter rain greater than the moderate rain on the first Day of Pentecost! Historically home to nomads, Russia controlled the vast territories of Central Asia from the 1800s until the USSR broke up in 1991. Russian is still the common ‘international’ language. To these remote, inaccessible lands Russia deported Russian and Ukrainian dissidents, Tatars from Crimea, Poles, Finns, ethnic Germans and other undesirables… Today Central Asia is a diverse multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-religious group of nations, the 5 ‘Stans’: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. After 70 years of enforced atheism under the Soviet Union, the hunger for the Gospel in the 1990s drove a great revival – pioneered by the youth, some even teenagers. In 2003 I was invited to evangelise with them in Kazakhstan; my preaching was accompanied by some of the biggest miracles I have ever seen. I am amazed after 20 years how many people remembered, even personally experienced, these great healings that happened back then. But also in the 1990s, because the majority population of Central Asia is historically and culturally Islamic, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Qatar, UAE and other Moslem countries invested huge sums into schools and universities, buying influence over the minds of government and people. A great persecution broke out against the churches so that it became impossible to hold public evangelism. Even now, for a foreigner simply to speak in a church building, you must have a missionary permit from the government. My recent visits have been a testing ground! This Summer in Astana, the capital city of Kazakhstan, the official permit for me to speak was granted only one week before our meetings began. But, for the first time in 20 years, they got permission to put a banner in the street to advertise the meetings. The church doubled their seating capacity, every meeting was virtually full, and after years of provocations and persecutions, we had absolute peace! There were wonderful miracle healings, including one pre-teen Kazakh girl, born crippled with cerebral palsy; her uncontrollable salivation dried up instantly,
8
and she began to place her twisted feet flat on the floor and walked! From there I flew with my team to Almaty, the commercial capital. Two different churches, three days of powerful teaching and evangelism, two meetings every day. People came from all over Kazakhstan, by car, by train, some even flew in, so great is their hunger for God... One church had a government permit for me, the other did not. But no police presence, no phone calls, no provocations! Advertising was on Instagram on sites connected with those searching for medication... Miracles were great. Four working days in my UK office, then back to Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan for a week-long Youth Forum: 2000 from every Central Asian country – 250 organisers, and youth leaders working in dynamic evangelism and church planting across all Central Asia! My friends and co-workers from every Stan country were there! For the first time since the persecution began, the churches took a public venue by faith to declare Jesus! Yes, the KGB monitored every step and detail of the event, refusing some speakers permission to minister, and the secular director of the stadium said, “They will hang me when you’re gone…” But God gave me a gift of preaching so powerful, some said they expected Elijah’s chariot of fire to appear – and even the Director of the KGB thanked me for my preaching afterwards! We all sensed we are standing on the edge of – even in the centre of – a new revival. I’m living in an experiment – because, with God, nothing is impossible! Science tells us the Universe is expanding outwards without limit. I want to push the boundaries further and further, until all can see how powerful our God really is! HE will demonstrate with miracles the difference between the person of Mohammed and Jesus Christ! And so, though I am 91, I refuse to stop until God brings this great revival! There HAS to be Joel’s 2nd outpouring – without limit – greater than on the Day of Pentecost!

FIX YOUR THOUGH David Hathaway
Hebrews 3 NIV Remember, Paul himself was born an observant Jew, ‘a Hebrew of the Hebrews and a Pharisee’, and in writing to the Hebrews, he is specifically addressing Jewish followers of Christ. He begins here in Hebrews 3:1, ‘Holy brothers who share the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus’! What a wonderful way to start! I would challenge you – FIX YOUR THOUGHTS ON JESUS! He is the Beginning, the Ending – He’s Everything! To us as Christians, it’s not religious observance, it’s Jesus, the Son of God! It’s Him we relate to! Jesus, ‘the Apostle and High Priest whom we confess’! An Apostle – the Chief of all Apostles – because He was sent by God to accomplish an important mission on God’s behalf. That’s the meaning behind the Greek word, ‘apostle’, one who is sent to accomplish an important task. High Priest because, in the Jewish tradition, the High Priest represented the people to God. At the very moment Jesus died on the cross, the Temple Curtain – which separated the people from the Holy of Holies where only the High Priest could enter – was torn in two from top to bottom; God tore it from the top, not man from the bottom, and Jesus became our High Priest who has entered Heaven for us. He has replaced the High Priest of Jewish tradition. And in v2, it says, Jesus ‘was faithful to the One who appointed Him’. Jesus came as one appointed by God to be His Apostle or Ambassador and to be High Priest on behalf of the people; and, like Moses, He was faithful ‘in all God’s House’. Paul likens the faithfulness of Jesus to Moses (whom the Jews revered, along with Elijah, as the greatest of prophets ever sent by God). Moses had a very unusual life, I like to say he had three lives: rescued from the bullrushes by Pharaoh’s daughter, he spent his first 40 years in the King’s Palace; then, because he had an argument with one of the Egyptians and killed him, he fled to the wilderness and for 40 years he kept his father-in-law’s sheep, that’s his second life; and when he was 80 years old, he met God, at the burning bush – where God spoke to him. And he spent the next 40 years, leading the people of
10
Israel out of captivity in Egypt – through the desert – to the Promised Land. I see something very similar here between Moses and Jesus. Like Moses, Jesus was called by God to take us, out of ‘Egypt’, out of this world of sin, and bring us, through the years, to the Coming Kingdom. For 40 years Moses led the people of Israel through the wilderness, but in the end, was not allowed to enter the Land. The ministry of Jesus, as Apostle and High Priest is to bring us from the moment of our first salvation out of sin, to the moment when we enter the Kingdom. Moses was faithful and did his job – it wasn’t easy because the people soon began to grumble and complain, and the weight of this hindered him from entering into the Promise. We need to be careful that we don’t grumble and complain – Jesus is faithful to do His job, as Moses was his! But Paul now puts it this way: just as the builder of the house has greater honour than the house, and every house is built by someone, God is the builder of everything! Sixty years ago I built my own house – and I still live there! Paul is saying that the Kingdom of God is like a house. Moses was faithful as a servant in his responsibility in God’s House – he did his job. But God is the builder of everything. He created everything... I don’t know why some Christians question Creation… Scripture says, our God is the Lord God who created heaven and earth. In v5 we see Moses was ‘faithful as a servant’ in all God’s House, testifying as to what would be said in the future…’ Paul is saying that the life Moses lived was a testimony, a witness. Not just something he said or talked about, but what he lived! People talk, talk, talk but often they don’t do anything! I’m not interested in the talk, I’m interested in the action! The most important thing to me is not what I say, but what I do! Paul is saying Moses was a faithful witness in that he did what God commanded him. He led the children of Israel through the Red Sea, right through to the Promised Land. But Christ, Paul says in v6, is faithful in a different way, faithful as a Son
over the whole of God’s House – and WE are His House if we hold on to our courage and the Hope of which we boast! It seems some of those early Jewish followers of Christ were being tempted to let go of their faith, to grumble and complain! But we are God’s House – IF we hold on! Just as for 40 years Moses was responsible for the salvation of the children of Israel out of Egypt, Jesus is responsible for our salvation until we enter Heaven! God has appointed Jesus, as His Son, to be responsible for God’s House – that’s us! Responsible for our complete salvation! Just as Moses had to be faithful – and was – how much more so is Jesus going to be faithful to look after us until we enter into the Kingdom! What a beautiful picture of our salvation! We are the House Jesus rules over – IF we hold on! There’s a warning here, in v7ff, ‘As the Holy Spirit says, today if you hear His Voice, don’t harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion’! Paul is speaking to the Jewish followers of Christ, reminding them how their ancestors rebelled against Moses in the desert. When Moses was on Mount Sinai receiving the Ten Commandments, the people down below were rebelling against God, saying ‘we don’t know where Moses is’ – and they made a golden calf to lead them! Exodus 32:1. They made an image of an Egyptian god and turned away from the God of Moses to worship the gods of Egypt…! Oh, oh… You only have to read the Old Testament to find out all the grumblings and complainings of the Hebrews after they had left Egypt! The 40 years the Hebrews spent in the wilderness are called in Scripture ‘the time of testing’. This means for us that, from the time you receive Christ until the time you physically enter His Kingdom, is a time of testing of your faith and the life that you live! When the Hebrews first reached the borders of the Promised Land, Moses sent out 12 spies: the report of ten of them was, “Oh, it’s a wonderful land flowing with milk and honey,” and they brought back the grapes, but, they said, “the trouble is, it’s full of evil people, we’re afraid; we can’t go in because they
HTS ON JESUS!
will stop us!” Only two of the 12 spies actually said, “If God is with us, who can be against us? Come on, boys, we go in – in faith! We can certainly do it!” When it came to the vote, the Hebrew people sided with the ten and not the two. As a result, the people of Israel had to spend 40 years wandering round in the desert because they had heard the Promise of God and had hardened their hearts! Paul is quoting Scripture here, ‘for 40 years your fathers tested and tried Me, and for 40 years they saw what I did – that’s why I was angry with that generation, and I said, “Their hearts are always going astray and they have not known My Ways, so I declared on oath in My anger, they shall never enter My Rest.”’ So, all those who doubted God’s faithfulness to keep His Promise – died in the desert! That whole generation did not enter the Promised Land. This is a serious issue, v12, ‘See to it that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the Living God.’ Paul is saying to us, see to it that none of you is full of unbelief – which is sin – but ‘encourage one another daily, as long as it’s called Today, so that none of you be hardened by sins deceitfulness’! Oh boy! Scripture says the devil is like a roaring lion – going round eating people! The danger is that weak Christians can be deceived, taken in by the devil. If you’re not following the Lord closely, the devil can deceive you – and that’s sin. To share
in Christ, we have to hold fast to our faith in Him! And in v15, Paul repeats what he says in v7-8, ‘Today, if you hear His Voice, don’t harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion.’ It’s critical we pay attention! I deal with unbelievers who are coming to Christ, that’s my job; but what distresses me is the Christians who don’t actually believe the whole Word of God! I believe, as Paul also wrote, that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, given for our instruction. When I was a boy at school, I was learning from my father enough to confront my unbelieving teacher in our Religious Education lessons, saying that the Bible is clear, all Scripture is given by inspiration of God! In the end my teacher gave his life to Christ. Christian, you can’t take bits of the Bible. Too many in the Church like this and don’t like that, understand this and reject that… I’m sorry, you must take it – or leave it! You can’t take part. You must take all or nothing! I’m challenging the Church, I’m challenging you! All – or nothing! Today, if you hear His Voice, don’t harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion. If you refuse to accept the Truth of God’s Word, this is rebellion against God. To refuse to accept the Truth of God’s Word is rebellion. All Scripture is given by the inspiration of God. Paul continues in v16, ‘Who were they who heard and then rebelled?’ Who were they, who having heard and seen, who had crossed the Red Sea
and come out of Egypt, who were they who rebelled? ‘Were they not all those whom Moses led out of Egypt?’! The whole of the nation rebelled against God! Paul goes on, v17, ‘With whom was he angry for 40 years? Wasn’t it those who sinned and whose bodies fell in the desert?’ That’s so blunt. Who was God angry with? He was angry with that unbelieving generation who died, whose bodies fell in the desert, to whom, because they disobeyed, God swore they would never enter His Rest. You understand the need for faithfulness?! You can see, there was a reason why that generation could not enter the Promised Land: it was their lack of faith, their unbelief. Verse 19, ‘We see they were not able to enter because of their unbelief.’ This is a challenge to you and me: we are due to enter God’s Kingdom, whether we are alive when He comes back, or whether we are dead. It doesn’t make any difference, because the dead will rise, and we will be together. But the only ones of us who can enter that Kingdom are those of us who live – and die – in faith in God’s Word. Do you understand?! Only those who will live and die in faith, accepting the Power of God, His Leadership, can enter the Kingdom. Do you understand now why Jesus told the parable of the five wise and five foolish virgins? It shows a divided Church. Those who had no oil in their lamps were those who had once known the Truth – but failed the test in the wilderness.

WILL YOU ENTER David Hathaway
Hebrews 4 KJV Remember, this series of articles in this magazine is based on Paul’s Letter to the Hebrews, to the Jewish converts in the period following the death, resurrection, and ascension of Christ, but the lessons contained here are important for every Christian, even today. Chapter 4 reverts to the theme of Chapter 3, the Promise of entering a Coming Rest. Paul writes, v1, ‘Let us fear therefore lest, a promise being left us of entering into His Rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.’ In v4, you see that Paul is linking this Rest to the Seventh Day of Creation. For six days God created – and on the seventh day, He rested from His Work. This is a picture of the 1000-year Rest, the Millennial reign of Christ on earth which is still to come! Paul warns us, we should be afraid, lest we fail to enter into this promise! For, v2, ‘unto us was the Gospel preached, as well as unto them’ – Paul means, the Jewish forefathers heard the promise, but failed to enter the Promised Land because of their unbelief. Paul says, ‘The Word which was preached to them did not profit them, because it was not received with faith by those that heard it. But we, who have believed, can enter this Rest.’ But it’s a question, v3&5, ‘IF they shall enter into My Rest…’ It’s conditional. To enter, you must have faith that God’s Works were made complete from the very foundation of the world, v4. God is working to a Plan. That Plan was made and revealed right from the beginning; from Genesis to Revelation there is no change in God’s plans, directions and purposes. What we are seeing is how it manifests in history,
12
how it takes place, and our part in it. The Rest that Paul is writing about here, the Millennium reign of Christ, was prepared and made perfect from the very foundation of the world! Scripture tells us, Jesus was the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world; this demonstrates that before sin came, salvation came! Before men appeared on the earth, the preparation was made for the Coming Kingdom, the Millennium! This is a constant. It doesn’t change. In God’s calendar, v4, there are six ‘working days’ and the seventh is a day of rest. But v5 makes it clear, for us it’s conditional: ‘IF they shall enter…’ Not all will enter God’s Rest! Scripture tells us, the children of Israel who did not believe, never did see the fulfilment of God’s promise to enter the earthly Promised Land… We, in the Church, haven’t yet seen the fulfilment of God’s Promise – the Seventh Day Rest, the Millennial reign of Christ; our salvation is still only in part, it’s not actually complete. My father used to teach me that, in effect, there’s more than one salvation! Yes, we are delivered from sin, praise God. But we are not yet delivered from the presence of sin. By the Power of the Blood of the Lamb, by the Power of the death and resurrection of Jesus, we are delivered from the power of the devil. But we haven’t yet been delivered from the
presence of sin, we’re surrounded by it! We’re living in a sinful world – BUT THERE IS A DAY COMING WHEN WE SHALL BE DELIVERED EVEN FROM THIS! This is what Paul is referring to when he writes, God rested on the Seventh Day. We are looking forward to the Millennial reign of Christ! But there is a question… ‘IF’… There’s an uncertainty. In v6 Paul goes on, ‘Seeing therefore it remains that some must enter, and those to whom it was first preached DID NOT enter because of unbelief…’ This promise of the Millenium, this Rest, was preached from the beginning, but at the time Paul was writing, the Jewish people, as a whole, had not found that fulfilment, they didn’t find it because of unbelief. This was typified by the 40 years the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness, even though they reached the border of the Promised Land. At the border, Moses sent 12 men in to spy out the land. You know the story – they all saw the plenty and the fruitfulness, just as God had promised. But ten said, “The land is full of armies, evil people. How can we go in?” Only two said, “Yes, we see the difficulties, but by faith we can overcome!” And because the people of Israel listened to the ten, a whole generation died in the desert…
GOD’S REST?! It can happen to us, as we saw in v2 where Paul writes, ‘Unto us was the Gospel preached, as well as unto them.’ The word that was preached to ‘them’, the children of Israel, by Moses, wasn’t accepted by faith. They were offered the Promised Land, but didn’t have the faith to go in and possess it! It was too hard. There is a danger for us in the Church, that we hear and know the Promise, but don’t have the faith to leave behind the old! It’s not easy being a Christian. My life has been hard. Twice I’ve had cancers, I’ve had other sicknesses and ailments – but God healed me every time. I’ve been in a communist prison – but God delivered me. I was a sinner – God saved me. I’m going into God’s Kingdom – the hard way! Only a remnant of Israel finally entered the Promised Land. But, v6ff, ‘Seeing therefore that it remains that SOME must enter, and those to whom it was first preached didn’t go in because of unbelief… again God set a certain day, saying to David, “Today after so long a time… today if you will hear His Voice, do not harden your hearts!”’ V8, ‘For if Jesus had given them rest, He would not afterwards have spoken of another day’! Jesus came offering us a way of escape, a way of salvation, a way of deliverance, but, just as Israel had long ago stood on the borders of the Promised Land and because of unbelief didn’t go in, when He came, Israel as a nation again rejected. They rejected Christ and crucified Him; Paul was also among them! But, Paul writes, in the days of David, God was saying, “Today, if you don’t harden your hearts, you can receive...” In those 40 days after Jesus had risen from the dead, before He ascended to Heaven, He spoke many things about the Coming Kingdom… So that when He instructed His Disciples to wait in Jerusalem ‘for the Promise of the Father which you have heard from Me’ – He was speaking about the Baptism of the Holy Spirit – the immediate reaction of the Disciples was, “Will You at this time restore the Kingdom to Israel?” In other words, “When the Holy Spirit is come, is that the moment when we enter into the Millennium Rest?” No. We’re still waiting for that! IF, v9, Jesus HAD given them that Rest, IF He had fulfilled that Promise 2000 years ago, there would be no future fulfilment… IF He had done it, He would not have said, there is yet a day coming. It’s no use saying Jesus has come and has already ushered in the Kingdom… We have NOT
YET entered! It’s in the future. It’s STILL TO COME – I hope it’s not going to be too long! We are now almost 6000 years since the Creation of this generation: 2000 years from Genesis 1 to the Flood, 2000 from the Flood to the time of Jesus, 2000 years from His Resurrection to the present day… So, v9, there still remains a Promise to be fulfilled! My father taught me very strongly that our salvation is not yet complete, though it was FINISHED at the Cross. Don’t think that what we’ve got down here is the full answer, it’s not. It’s only part. The thing we are still waiting for is the Kingdom! When I study the Gospels, as I do as an evangelist, I find Jesus speaks MORE about the Coming Kingdom, the Millennial reign, the 1000 years, than He did about ‘salvation’ as we, today, commonly understand it. Verse 10ff says, ‘He that has entered into His Rest, has also ceased from his own work, as God did from His. Let us therefore labour, let us work to enter into that Rest, lest any man fall…’ This is a big warning: it is possible that we can fail, fall short of the Glory of God… This is a very challenging chapter in that it is conceding that not everyone, even amongst the believers in the Church, not everyone will finally enter the Kingdom! Jesus taught a parable about that: the five wise and the five foolish virgins – out of the ten virgins, only five went into the wedding feast! ‘Let us labour to enter, lest we fall because of unbelief.’ We cannot get away from the question of belief and unbelief. Verse 12ff, ‘For the Word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.’ So even if we are ‘part of the Church’, this does not mean that we will enter into full salvation. We all will come under God’s Judgement; He discerns the real thoughts and motives of our hearts! Nobody, no creature is unseen by God. ‘All things are naked and open to the Eyes of Him with whom we have to deal.’ We have to deal with God, with God’s Judgement! There’s the Judgement of the ungodly, but also the Judgement of the Righteous, on which is based our reward. God knows our thoughts and the motives of our lives. Jesus told the parable of the talents: those given five, ten talents, who used them and multiplied them, received more in the Judgement; the man with the one talent who buried it in the ground and
did nothing with it – everything he had was taken away! In our spiritual life, the talents are the gifts God has given us. The Judgement will be how we use what God has given us. Five talents, ten talents – if you use and multiply them you will get your reward – rulers over cities! But if you don’t use your talent, you will lose it – it will be taken away and given to the one who had the ten talents. Paul moves on in v14ff, ‘Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities – He was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.’ Because our High Priest, Jesus, HAD to come and live here for 33 years and face the same problems, temptations and weaknesses as we do – He is sympathetic to us, touched by our weaknesses! Therefore, v16, ‘Let us come boldly to the Throne of Grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.’ God is aware of our frailties, our weaknesses, our difficulties. In the Jewish religion, the people had a high priest who could enter the earthly Holy of Holies on their behalf once a year only – but the real High Priest is Jesus, who constantly lives in the Presence of God. He is God. But He is not aloof; He lived with us, He faced and understands the same problems and temptations we face. We’re not perfect, I’m not perfect. There are sins of commission – things that you do – and sins of omission, what you fail to do. As Paul wrote in Rms 7, “The things I should do, I don’t do, and the things I should not do, I do! Who can help me, wretched man that I am? I thank God, Jesus!” Jesus knows everything we go through. He is able to be our High Priest and intercede with the Father on our behalf – because He understands us! If we don’t accept this by faith, we will be condemned like Israel to wander in the wilderness. Only by accepting the Promise and Truth of God by faith can we enter the Coming Kingdom. Ask God for the faith to believe ALL His Promises! God bless you!
13
If you have received the Holy Spirit, there must be some evidence of the Power of God in your life! After the Holy Spirit came on you, did you receive extra Power?! What do you have the faith to ask God for?! Ask for something BIG! I do. Something BURNS in me. God has prepared me and brought me to all the lands of the former Soviet Union, and I am believing for something BIG! Look at the atom. What is it? It’s mostly NOTHING! Just some infinitesimally small protons and neutrons, somehow held together within a nucleus, with electrons bouncing around – but mostly NOTHING! But look at the tremendous power that is released if you split the atom! It’s difficult to do, but something must trigger that reaction, that explosion of power… How? You bombard it with other atoms, look at the Hadron Collider… But God wants YOU to be the ‘atoms’ that release His Power!!! That Power is hidden, inactive, you don’t see it. Bombard God – pray, work, don’t stop until that Power is released – through YOU – upon the earth!
Thank you for supporting our
MINISTRY OF MERCY in Ukraine Since Russia invaded on February 24th, 2022, we have engaged tirelessly in social and relief work to support the Ukrainian people. As Russian troops surrounded Kyiv and occupied Kyiv region, we sprang into action, evacuating people and providing basic assistance. Despite the risks involved, we trusted the Lord and successfully rescued many out of the occupied territories. After the liberation of Kyiv region – and before it was rendered safe for civilians – we were allowed immediate access and, braving unexploded shells scattered everywhere, we brought relief to the survivors in Gostomel, Irpin, Bucha, Borodyanka and other devastated cities and villages. Just as critical, we brought spiritual support and distributed Bibles. The destruction was heartrending, the need for support overwhelming.
14
DO WHAT GOD SAYS! Obedience – that’s been the biggest lesson in my life! One Saturday night aged 15, I fought my first great spiritual battle. In the end I promised to give God EVERYTHING, my whole life, my future, EVERYTHING. I had grandiose visions that Sunday of serving God, of being chosen, aged 15, to be the preacher that day… I was excited, what would God do? I leapt out of bed! Ran downstairs – and saw a row of dirty shoes… The Holy Spirit said, “Clean those shoes!” I hate cleaning shoes, But I did what He said. If I had refused that first simple test He gave me, “Clean those shoes” – Jesus wouldn’t have trusted me, and I wouldn’t be where I am in ministry today. Always I hear a Voice behind me, telling me what to do. I’ve learnt, if you say you are going to do something, DO IT! Whatever it costs! We talk about putting our faith in God, trusting Him – BUT DOES HE TRUST YOU?! Do you do what He says? God is always talking to you. If you can’t hear Him – UNBLOCK YOUR EARS – THEN DO WHAT HE SAYS! There’s a law of physics, the law of inertia. Imagine your car has broken down with a dead battery. It requires tremendous effort to overcome its inertia and begin to move it. But once it’s moving, it becomes easier. Overcome your spiritual inertia! Once you start moving, praying, working for God – He will take control. But you must DO WHAT HE SAYS!
In the East, without weapons but with a fortitude equal to that of Ukraine’s defenders, we have conducted missions to frontline cities, where ruined houses and people taking refuge in basements were a common sight. The distances are considerable, the roads severely damaged, but we have delivered a wide range of relief supplies, and given spiritual support, love, and care to those who have witnessed unimaginable horrors. With other Christian groups, in Kyiv and Western Ukraine we assist internally displaced persons, orphans, and children from vulnerable families. Through prayer and action, we are steadfast that the victims of this illegal invasion shall receive the much-needed support they deserve. Since 2014 when Russia first invaded our country, our greatest privilege has been to foster unity within the nation through the organisation and coordination of the National Days of Prayer for Ukraine. This has had a profound impact, uniting millions from every Christian confession. In the midst of war, the Days of Prayer have continued. On June 10th this year we held the 8th Interconfessional National Day of Prayer in BUCHA, site of enemy atrocities and war crimes. Thousands united to pour out powerful prayers from one big Ukrainian heart. Thank you for standing with us, for your faithfulness in prayer and finance. It is critical that we defend and retain the peaceful democratic values that define us. Our journey is far from over. The road to recovery and rebuilding is long, the need for help is great. May our joint efforts bring healing, restoration and a brighter future for the people of Ukraine. Your Ukraine Team

OVER 70 YEARS OF MINISTRY SINCE 1950
The most important read in this current world crisis – the biography of
DAVID HATHAWAY Available on Kindle and in Paperback War in Ukraine – confused, afraid? – This book traces over 70 years of David’s unique ministry in the former Soviet Union which began under the persecution of communism. In his own words: “God has given me a vision of Russia, Europe and Israel so clear, it’s like looking down on a map of the devil’s strategy, but I also see God’s strategy, what He wants us to do. This puts an awesome responsibility on us to act.” David is known as a living legend and a hero of faith in all the former communist countries. This book reveals God’s heart, which has driven David from his earliest days – and still drives him today. We trust it will give you some clarity on prophecy as it unfolds before your eyes – and that it will inspire you to follow Jesus in the same spirit – for it is the Gospel which is the Power of God to save all who will believe.
