I’m an evangelist. What drives me is what Jesus taught – the Kingdom of God! Jesus is coming back – to set up a Kingdom on earth! In our world! Last September I was holding the biggest meeting for

I believe in Heaven and hell. We may feel this life is important, but we only live here for 70 or 80 years. But there is an afterlife – and the decision is made here! It is so important to receive Christ because only through Jesus Christ can we enter into the Kingdom of God. Without Christ we are outside the Kingdom! The Allah of Islam is not our God. Governments and Christians are deceived: they say Jew, Christian and Moslem all worship the same God. Many years ago when we produced the documentary, The Stones Cry Out, my TV crew filmed inside the Dome of the Rock on the Temple Area where it is written in Arabic from the Koran, ‘God has no need of a Son’! But the Bible says there is only One Name under Heaven by which we can be saved – Jesus! There is no other name. Our God so loved the world that He sent His Son, and the death of Christ is the only way into Heaven, the only salvation. But churches – in Britain, worldwide – worship together with Moslems. At the annual Presidential Prayer Breakfast, President Obama invited a Moslem Imam to pray blessing over America in the name of Allah! In the town where I live we have one of the largest mosques in Britain and indeed in Europe – and the most militant. They trained the London suicide bombers. But Moslems will all tell you, “We believe in Jesus.” ‘Isa’ in Arabic. They believe ‘he’ will ‘come back’, and when ‘he’ does, ‘he’ will convert the world to Islam. It’s such a deception! The Moslem ‘Jesus’ is NOT the Son of God – and that’s what they themselves

say! So their Jesus is not ours, they say ‘he’ was brought down from the cross alive, that another died in His place!!! Jesus Christ IS the Son of God, salvation is ONLY in His Name! He died on the cross and is alive! And He’s coming back to establish His Kingdom! Our Jesus is not the ‘Jesus’ of the Koran. But today the Church is silent. Asleep. Jesus told the parable of the Wedding Feast, ten virgins waiting for the Bridegroom – all asleep. Matt 25:1-13. Their lamps went out. Midnight. Jesus said they had to go to the shops to buy some more oil! By the time they got back, the door was shut! Half those waiting for the Wedding Feast were shut out of the Kingdom of God – because the fire had gone out! Another story Jesus told of that future Wedding Feast, was that all the invited guests made excuses and would not come, so the Master sent out his servants to bring the poor from the streets to fill the house! Why is the Bible so clear that not everyone will enter the Kingdom of God?! This is why I am an evangelist! I MUST preach the message of the Kingdom of God! I believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Coming King! I preach the same Gospel Jesus preached – the Kingdom of God! It’s the most important message we have today! Christ’s Kingdom WILL come on earth, very soon! I’ve been visiting Israel for over 55 years, and when I look at all the changes, to me everything about Israel is preparing for the Coming of Christ! Roads, rail, air – for when Messiah comes! Also the preparations the Orthodox Jews are making for the new Temple... Ezekiel 12:21-23 says, ‘The Word of the Lord came to the prophet, ‘What is that proverb you have in Israel saying, the days go by and every vision fails? Tell them, ‘Thus says the Lord God, I will make this proverb cease and they will

no more use it in Israel.’ Say to them, ‘The days are at hand and the fulfilment of every vision.’ And v26 says, ‘Again the Word of the Lord came to me saying, ‘Son of man, they of the house of Israel say, the vision that he sees is for many days to come and he prophesies of the days that are far off. Therefore say unto them, ‘There shall none of My Words be delayed any longer, but the Word which I have spoken shall be done!’ My father was a great man of God, a student and teacher of Bible prophecy about the Lord’s Return. A generation ago there was so much teaching about this. I grew up with it. But today, so many are saying, “It’s for the distant future.” To them it’s meaningless. Even some who support me don’t understand why I talk about the Coming of the Lord. Eighteen months ago in Israel I challenged the Catholic Church in the Patriarchate in Jerusalem – they were talking about hundreds of years in the future! Yes, thousands of years ago, the Old Testament prophets talked about the Coming of the Lord – always in the future! But God is saying this will change! God has spoken these verses from Ezekiel to me strongly. It has affected my ministry. The prophecies concerning the Coming of the Lord are going to be fulfilled now. Many of the prophecies concerning the last days before His Return are already taking place – but many don’t recognise this! I fly so often that I can recognise when the plane makes its last manoeuvres before lining up with its final flightpath. It corrects its course, it may circle in a holding position, but from the moment when the pilot gets the signal and he knows it’s his time to come in, he makes the final changes, then, when the wheels come down, that plane will not go to the left or the right, no time for change, it’s on the final flight path! The Lord reminded me of this when I

was flying into Kiev last year, He said, “Right now we’re on the final flightpath and the wheels have come down!” It’s as close as that to the end of the age, Jesus IS coming! My life has been very difficult. But looking back now, I can now see that everything that happened down through those past years had been God’s advance planning. If I had not pioneered that overland trip through the Iron Curtain countries to Israel 55 years ago, I would not have gone to the Soviet Union, I would not have smuggled Bibles and I would not have ended in a communist prison – and the Holocaust Survivors from the Soviet Union in Israel today would not have listened to me – I would not have had today’s ministry! At the time when all those things happened I did not know God’s future plan. Going the hard way to Israel 55 years ago, I did not know that today I would be holding the biggest evangelistic meetings in history in Israel... but now I can see God had planned it so precisely in advance!! It is not easy for us to see in our lives, what God will do in the future. My ministry today is to demonstrate God’s plan, His purposes. What I’m doing in Israel today is part of the fulfilment of things prophesied 2000 years ago when Jesus fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah 53 – (a passage of Scripture which, since its fulfilment, is never read publicly in the synagogues) – the Suffering Servant who bore our sin, our sickness, our punishment, and died to bring us peace. HE is the only Messiah. In September the former Chief Rabbi in Israel, Yona Metzger, came from Tel Aviv specially to meet me when I was in the Knesset. ‘Proselytising’ in Israel is against the law, so I was wondering what his reaction towards me was going to be, but… he threw his arms around me and thanked me for the event in Caesarea two days before! Only 15 minutes had been allocated for this meeting, but we spoke for an hour... He insisted, “We must meet again. In London, Moscow, Israel – wherever suits you, but we must talk again. You Christians and we Jews are both expecting Messiah. Let us get along together until He comes, and let us pray that, when He comes, we will

both recognise the TRUE Messiah!” Two years ago when I was speaking in a big meeting in Tel Aviv, the taxi driver who came to take me to the airport began to say as soon as I got in his car, “Did we kill Him? Messiah? The whole of Israel is asking this question! He was a good man, He healed the sick...” He could hardly find the way to the airport because his whole conversation was about the Coming of Messiah! This is Israel today! We are living in the days when prophecy is being fulfilled! Why did Judas betray Jesus? Yes, he was a thief, stealing the money raised for the ministry. But, being in charge of the purse strings, and believing so strongly Jesus would be King over Israel in his lifetime, he thought he would become Minister of Finance! When Jesus told the disciples that He must first die on the cross, that He was not yet going to set up the Kingdom, Judas was so disappointed, he didn’t just quit, he sold Him to the Chief Priests for 30 pieces of silver! And not only Judas believed in the Kingdom ‘now’! After the resurrection, when Jesus appeared to the disciples in Acts 1:4-8, saying, “Wait in Jerusalem until you receive the Holy Spirit and power – and become My witnesses all over the world!” Their first reaction, v6, was, “Will You at this time restore the Kingdom to Israel?” Not excitement over the powerful ministry they were being given! They totally misunderstood the purpose of the coming of the Holy Spirit, believing that it would straightaway bring the Kingdom of God on earth! But that shows the strength of Jesus’ teaching on the Gospel of the Kingdom!!! TOO MANY TODAY MAKE THE SAME MISTAKES AS THE DISCIPLES – MANY ARE MORE INTERESTED IN THE MONEY THAN THE KINGDOM, AND SO MANY DON’T UNDERSTAND THAT THE PURPOSE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IS TO PREPARE FOR THE COMING KINGDOM OF GOD. Prophecy WILL be fulfilled! But today, 2000 years later, the Church is saying exactly the same as was being said in Israel in the days of Ezekiel, “The prophets have prophesied so many times, but it doesn’t happen...” Israel didn’t believe. Today the Church doesn’t believe that prophecy will be fulfilled!

So many are not believing and preparing for the Return of Christ and the Coming of His Kingdom on earth! 1 Corinthians 4:20 says, ‘The Kingdom of God is not in word but in power!’ We’re living in dangerous times – Christians HAVE to be STRONG, it’s a fight! All my life I’ve seen incredible miracles more than any other living man I know. Miracles of every kind. But I’ve never had an easy life, every single thing that I have done, I’ve had to fight for! Except when I married my wife, the ‘beauty queen’! – I won her heart, the rest – history! The day Jesus wins your heart, the rest will be history! The day when I no longer sacrifice to repay the debt I owe Jesus, I will lose my power. The command to the priests in Leviticus 6 is that when you light the fire on the altar of sacrifice, that fire must never go out! If God has put His fire in you, that fire must never go out! How do you keep the fire burning? Not with wood – with sacrifice! YOUR life – on the altar! Did Jesus really win your heart? If so, no sacrifice will be great enough! Tribulation is coming, Islam is going to rape Europe: see my film, The Rape of Europe. Migrants are fleeing war in the Middle East in their thousands. The Koran teaches that if, when they migrate, they win converts to Islam (by peaceful means or by terror and war), they will receive double blessing in the afterlife! They will sacrifice their lives – and yours! But Christian, if you would put your life on the altar, if you would evangelise, you will win a Crown of Glory! Thousands of Moslems from Britain, from Europe, are fighting on the rebel side in Syria. They will come back. There will be a battle, tribulation before Jesus comes. And when He comes, He will come as a thief in the night – unexpectedly, no warning!!! There will be no last opportunity for salvation What must we do? Salvation is NOW. God needs YOU NOW, to rise up to demonstrate His power – to the unbelieving church, as well as the world!

I love that old song, ‘I surrender all, all to Jesus I surrender, I surrender ALL...’ I haven’t heard that sung for more than 40 years. We sang it so often when I was young, it was very important to us. Surrender ALL... Give everything to Jesus! That’s the key! Yet somehow the Church seems to have lost the message of that song. When I was just 15, God asked me to give Him everything. It was a battle, but I surrendered not just my life, but everything to Him – 70 years ago. I live this! I’m not preaching it, it’s my life! When I was still a pastor in 1964, God said to me, “Stop preaching, go out and do all the things you tell others to do – and only come back and tell them when you’ve done it!” So I did! I gave up everything and went out to prove the power of God! And the older I get, the more I still see of the power of God! Paul wrote to the Corinthians, ‘Some are puffed up... But I will come to you shortly if the Lord wills, and will know, not the speech of those that are puffed up, but the power. For the Kingdom of God is not in word, but in power!’ – 1 Corinthians 4:18-20. The key is to give God everything. The day I stop sacrificing, I will lose my power! Jesus is not coming back to preach the Gospel, but in Judgment – He has sent YOU to spread the Gospel! If you don’t tell your family, your neighbour, nobody will! Yes, Jesus is coming to set up His Kingdom! But before that there will be a massive persecution. It has already begun, we’re so close to the end… In 2003 when the British and American troops crossed the Euphrates, I saw it on television. And immediately God turned me to Revelation 9:14-16, where the command is given to loose the four demons held in the River Euphrates, which were prepared for an hour, a day, a month and a year – to slay the third part of mankind! I said, “Oh God, the British troops have just crossed the Euphrates, now those four demons are released!” We even published this in our magazine in 2003. The British Government has just published the results of their enquiry into the Iraq war. It recognises that the whole of the trouble

today in the Middle East began in Iraq. Under Saddam Hussein, even though he may have been a wicked dictator, all the Islamic sects, Sunni and Shia, and the Christians, lived in relative peace. There were tens of thousands of Christians living in peace in Iraq. But when we destroyed the power of the tyrant, we unleashed a flood tide of evil that cannot be stopped. We compounded it in Afghanistan, in Libya, in Syria... so often politicians are blind and deaf – why don’t they read the Bible?!! We should never have interfered! Five years ago, President Assad said on British television, “If I lose control in Syria, the whole of the Middle East will explode in flames.” But our goal is to destroy Assad! And if we do – look at Iraq – there will be no stable government, because we have no plan and no way to control what happens. Moslem extremists will flood the whole of that region – paving the way for a world revolution! It’s coming because those four demons were released from the Euphrates to kill a third of mankind, leading to the army that will attack Jerusalem. We’re on the countdown now… I know what President Putin of Russia is doing. He’s determined to destroy all American influence in the whole Middle East. But when he succeeds in settling the question in Syria and gains influence over the whole of that region, the Arab nations will turn to him saying, “You solved the problem in Syria, now solve the real problem – Israel!” The whole world is against Israel. Read what will happen in Ezekiel 38 and 39!

churches to wake up, go out and do the job! NOW! There is no tomorrow! At night when I shut down my computer, it automatically installs updates... Last week I had a problem placing an order on my computer. I rang the company, they could see my problem – and so they asked permission to take control of my computer. Suddenly I could see someone moving the cursor on my screen, filling the order form without me! When the cashless society comes, and some people say it can come within months, you will not be able to buy or sell without a chip. It is already in use in some places. But when the chip is in your hand, you will be under outside control! If you’re ordered to kill, you kill; ordered to steal, you steal; ordered to fight you do it. Without ability to resist! The technology exists already. Church – what will we do?! We’ve got to surrender to Christ! Surrender the control of your life, not to some remote computer, but to Christ and let Christ work in you! This was what I did aged 15. Before computer technology, the Holy Spirit took control of my life! When I look back, I can see every step of the way was pre-planned and controlled by Him! The evolutionist says everything came together by chance – but only an idiot can believe in evolution without a Creator God! And why did God create us? For His Glory! To bring Glory to Him! To fulfil His divine purpose! Surrender your life to His control today!

When I was a young man, people said the prophetic clock was 5 minutes to midnight. But if I were to declare a prophetic clock now, I would say that we are within 5 seconds of the midnight hour. We have a timeline, it’s the countdown to the end. But not only the Middle East – Europe is about to be raped by Moslem fanatics as I predicted 16 years ago in my film, The Rape of Europe. But what is my reaction? Not fear, but to go out and preach the Gospel! That’s why I’m spending my time travelling, preaching, stirring up the

When I evangelise, my job is to explain who the real Jesus is. This generation doesn’t know who the real Jesus, or even God, is! I want them to receive my Jesus, a God of power and love. In church we sing ‘How Great is Our God’... My experience in a communist prison was extremely hard, but I learnt more about God there than I have ever learnt sitting in a church! There, I was sitting in the blackest hell-hole – yet I had an experience of the Glory of God greater there, than any I have had in a church! That morning, alone in my cell, I jumped up off my nail-embedded wooden stool, I was only skin and bone, and began singing, ‘Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to Thee, how great Thou art!’ It was as if even the Angels joined with me! We don’t see the greatness of God in the normal course of events, we see His greatness in the extremities.

Golan Heights by the Syrians. I was actually in Jerusalem on the day the 1967 Six Day War broke out! The Jordanian tanks were rolling in as I hastily left with my buses! When I made the film, The Stones Cry Out, in 1999 with the support of the Israeli government, we filmed some of the artefacts that had been prepared for the new Temple and I interviewed a senior Rabbi from the Temple Institute. He was happy to take my money, thousands of dollars. He boasted how much money the Temple Institute gets from evangelical Christians! He invited me to his home during the Feast of Tabernacles. But when he found out that I was an evangelist, he cursed me, saying, “It’s better for a Jew to die in the Holocaust than to accept your Messiah.” And yet today, it’s the Russian-speaking Holocaust survivors and their descendants in Israel who welcome me.

I prayed my way out of that prison. It’s a fight. We have a price to pay. Sacrifice. Our lives on the altar.

But do you understand the passion I have to preach the Gospel? And how hard, how difficult it is? For every single freedom I have behind the Iron Curtain in the communist countries, I’ve had to pay a price. Four times they have threatened to kill me. In Ukraine they know the price I’ve paid. That Day of Prayer in Ukraine in last June, when I called ministers and leaders from every denomination to come together to call on God to deliver the nation, they came together as one, only because they know, I didn’t just come to them when the freedom came; I was there in the hard days, I visited them in prison, when they were in persecution.

Sacrifice is the very centre of Judaism. Today in Judaism, if you are a Jew, there is no remission of sin because there is no sacrifice. It was taken away 2000 years ago when the Temple was destroyed – because Jesus, Messiah, He is the sacrifice! In Israel they are attempting to reinstate the sacrifice, they have appointed a High Priest, Rabbi Baruch Kahane – in August he made a Barley Offering in the streets of the Old City in Jerusalem – but he cannot yet make the sin offering. In Judaism they don’t yet understand – Israel has no salvation outside of Christ! I first visited Israel in 1961 when, as a new nation, it was only 13 years old. When I brought my tourists into Jerusalem we were shot at from the Jordanian side, and in Galilee from the

In 1992 I was the first to take the Dynamo Stadium in Kiev for evangelism. During World War II, the occupying Nazis forced the defeated Ukrainians to a football match, saying, “If you defeat us, you will die!” And those Ukrainians, demoralised as they were,

fought that game there on the football field and defeated the Nazis – and paid the shocking price. They had to! How could they be defeated?! Look, Christians, how can we be defeated?! This is the challenge – Christ fought and gave His life to win the victory! Christians, we’ve got to fight, we’ve got to give our lives to win the victory! Our God of the Bible has never been defeated in history – we must never allow Him to be defeated in us!! The second time I took the Dynamo Stadium, in 1993, we’d paid for it, we had the contract. We were outside the gates in our thousands, but the police and the military wouldn’t let us in! They were there with guns to stop us! We were praying and praying and there was no answer. I turned to the people and said, “The police will not let us in the stadium! We have every right to be there, but the government is refusing, we’re not allowed to preach the Gospel. So instead, we will march through the centre of Kiev and we’re going to shout and proclaim the glory of Jesus in the streets!” And a miracle happened. Suddenly the Minister of Religious Affairs himself appeared at my side as if he had dropped out of the sky, and he was holding onto my arm. He said, “Hathaway, we will not let you proclaim your Jesus through the whole of Kiev. Better you go in the stadium than that!” And they threw the gates open! But you see, if you don’t stand firm, and if you don’t pray firmly...!!! You must pray and proclaim WITH AUTHORITY!!! I’ve heard how people pray!!! No! We’ve got to LEARN how to pray! Spend a year in a communist prison, pray your way out – then you’ll know how to pray!!! This is how I had to pray last September to get the stadium in Caesarea! This is how we HAVE to live,

now! When the devil says ‘No!’, we HAVE to fight – and with God, we’ll ALWAYS win! Everything I’ve done in my ministry, I’ve had to fight for it. God has NEVER been defeated! Isaiah 58:4&6 rebukes the people, ‘Behold you fast for strife and debate and smite with the fist of wickedness... You shall NOT fast as you do this day to make your voice to be heard on high... Is not this the fast I have chosen, to lose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free, and that you might break every yoke?!’ Come on! We’re not to fast just for our own desires and strivings. This is what God wants – to set the people free! The Russian-speaking people in the former Soviet Union, in Israel, know the price I’ve had to pay for the privilege of speaking to them; they come to my meetings because they know I’ve suffered with them, that I’m there to set them free! That’s why Jesus came! To break the chains! Without Christ, you would be in sin, without Him, you go to hell! I preach Heaven – and hell! I preach against hell, because if hell is half as bad as my communist prison – God help the sinner! But hell is a thousand times worse. I’ve had a taste of hell, I’ve lived in hell for a year, hell on earth. That’s why I love the sinner and why I’m determined to set the captives free. I’m determined to show the people that there is another way, a new life, a new hope. We are the ONLY ambassadors of that hope. Who else is there? We are the ONLY messengers God has got! When Jesus died, who was there left to carry the message? He fed 5000, 7000, He preached to tens of thousands... But when He was on the cross they ALL forsook Him and fled. He left only eleven! What would have happened if those eleven had given up? His death would have been in vain! Without YOU, without YOUR voice, His death is in vain! He didn’t just die for you, He died for the world. But who is going to tell the world if you don’t?! Isaiah 58:7-8 says, ‘Is not your fasting to give your bread to the hungry and bring the poor that are cast out into your house? When you see the naked, cover him, and when you see your own flesh, do not hide yourself from him... Then shall your light break forth as the morning and your health shall spring forth speedily, and your righteousness shall go before you, and the Glory of the Lord shall be behind you!’ Wow! This is the fruit of the ministry! The Glory of God is behind us, it’s our defence! God is our rearguard! When you go FORWARD, God is your REARGUARD! When you’re going backwards, even when you’re standing still, you don’t need a rearguard!! You

need the rearguard only when you go forward to face the enemy!! And when the enemy comes in like a flood, then the Spirit of the Lord will raise up a standard against him! We have a God of war, a God of victory! Isaiah 59:1 says, ‘Behold the Lord’s hand is not shortened that it cannot save, neither His ear heavy that He cannot hear.’ His hand – that’s His sword arm, His fighting arm! What I hear in some churches, if I stayed there too long, I’d sit back, go to sleep, stop evangelising... So many are teaching, ‘be calm, think about yourself, don’t worry...’ But I want to hear fighting talk!! Because we’re in warfare, and we going to go through tribulation. Some say God is such a God of love, He won’t let us go through tribulation... But what about the Christians in Syria and Iraq and the whole of the Middle East?! What about the Christians in China? Or in Eastern Europe under communism?! You can’t tell them you don’t go through tribulation! I was in a meeting in the British Parliament two years ago when Members of the Government were recognising the persecution of Christians in the Middle East, that the whole Church in the Biblical lands is being wiped out – now! Islam is determined to destroy the Church! Moslems will tell you they believe in your Jesus, but they say He is NOT the Son of God. Yes, they say Jesus is coming back, but when He does, they believe He will convert the whole world to Islam! But while the Bibles says that the gates of hell will not prevail against the Church, it also says that ‘many will be deceived’ and that the ‘whole world will worship the Beast.’ – Matt 24:4; Rev 12:9&13:8. You have got to stand up and declare Jesus, Son of God, Lord over all! We have ALREADY entered into the tribulation, we’re in spiritual warfare! I’ve faced tribulation much of my life. When Jesus comes – it will be unexpectedly – as a thief in the night! Half the Church won’t be ready! They won’t even get into Heaven, the door will be shut against them and Jesus will say, “I don’t know you!” This is a sharp lesson for the Church today: I believe we’re living in the age of the Laodicean Church. Jesus says in Revelation to the Church in Laodicea, “Because you are neither hot nor cold, I’ll spew you out of My mouth!” I’ve been to Laodicea and know what went wrong: a spa city built by the Romans, the water from the hot springs was brought by aqueduct so far, that by the time it reached town, it had cooled down; the ice-cold water from the mountains came across the desert; so when the hot and cold water arrived at

the central distribution point, you couldn’t tell the difference – hot and cold water were both lukewarm! And Jesus says, “Because you are neither hot nor cold, I don’t even want you!” Jesus said, “I would rather that you were cold!” God does not want a lukewarm Church. The Laodicean Church was rich and increased in goods and thought it had need of nothing! But Jesus would rather deal with the out-and-out sinner than with a lukewarm Church. God help the Church! But God’s hand is not shortened that it cannot save! Do we believe that?! In Caesarea, we had to fight to get the victory! We’d been working on the project for 2 years, spent 1.5 million British pounds in preparation and humanitarian aid. In the very last days before it was to take place, they tried to take an injunction against me to break the contract we had with the stadium; and they actually succeeded in breaking the contract with the buses that were bringing the people; and, at the final moment, the devil sent a wind so strong, that the whole stage structure was swaying wildly, so dangerous, the security wouldn’t let us in! What do you do?! Do you roll over and give up?! With four thousand people waiting to come in to hear about my Jesus...?!! It was a spiritual fight! And I knew, if I lost this one, I would lose the next!! I had to stand up and fight!!! If I had given in, Caesarea would never have happened. The Acts of the Apostles is not yet finished – and you and I are writing the last part TODAY! My greatest moment in Heaven will be when I meet Peter who first preached to the Gentiles in Caesarea, and Paul who sailed from there to prison in Rome – I’ll tell them how I preached the Risen Christ to 4000 Jews – in that same CAESAREA stadium!!!

David Hathaway – Evangelism, Dneprodzerzhinsk, Ukraine 2016 “Jesus only lived 33 years, He was rejected by His own people - but the last 3 years of His life were so powerful, that no man has ever changed the world like Jesus has! Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Castro – they only changed a small portion of the world, but they did it by force. Their only power – the gun. But Jesus Christ is the only man who has changed the whole world for two thousand years – by love! Nobody else. No dictator, no president – whether in America, in Russia, in Europe – not one has exercised power through love. The Bible says of Jesus and His Father – God IS love! Love IS God. This is the biggest problem with Islam, love is not part of the Koran, nor the character of Mohammed. “How do we express love? We try in our relationships – husband and wife, parents and children. We try. Not with gun or sword, but with loving care. If you have no love in your family, you have family breakdown because there is no love. Yes, there may be emotion and physical attraction, but this is not real love, that’s why so many relationships don’t last. One of the hardest things is to express real love in your life. But God IS love. And any love there is in us – comes from God! “The Bible says, ‘No man can have greater love than this, that he lay down his life for his friend.’ John 15:13. The greatest human love – is when someone will sacrifice

his own life to save someone else. In your nation, in the world, in Russia, in Ukraine, in Europe, in America, there is no greater expression of love than if you are willing to give your life for your friend. This is why we have war memorials, to remember those who paid for our peace with their lives.

from Jesus Christ, you will never die! You will live for eternity, because the promise of God to those who receive His love through Jesus is so simple yet so profound that it seems we often do not recognise it – it’s eternal life!!! The Kingdom of God is only made up with those – who have this new life!!!

“But God sent His Son to show a level of love so much greater than this, far greater than anything we can understand. Jesus died, not for His ‘friends’, but for those who persecuted Him, who hated Him, who rejected Him. He loved YOU, not because you were beautiful and perfect, but He loved you in your sin! He loves the sinner! I am a sinner. The whole world and everyone in it is born in sin. Our lives are a constant fight against that desire to sin, but no one can live a sinless life without God. Tragically, our governments legalise sin. They legalise murder – and call it abortion. They legalise homosexuality – which the Bible forbids, it’s not natural and it’s not God’s way.

My young days were lived under the constant threat of German bombs in London and fear of invasion. Then came the nuclear cold war between Russia and the West. But we do not have peace even today. Fighting in Syria, Iraq, the Middle East. Everywhere – hatred. Killing on our streets. In America – in the streets, in the schools and colleges. In the UK, in the town where I live, a man brutally murdered a beautiful young member of Parliament – shot and stabbed multiple times in the street, 2 km from my office. We desperately need God – in my town, in your town – in my nation, in your nation. There is no hope for the world without Jesus! We don’t have real life without Him! Give Him your heart, give Him your life! Be born again! God WANTS to forgive our sin! He WANTS to give us a new life that will NEVER die! Jesus said, “Unless a man be born again he cannot see the Kingdom of God!” John 3:3. To have eternal life, we MUST be born again!”

Prague, Czech Republic, November 2016 In November David spent 2 days in Prague, Czech Republic, as the guest of historian Dr Raska, to speak, first informally in the Anglo American University, and then in Charles University to students studying Human Rights as part of their course in the Faculty of Social Sciences. Dr Raska has published his research from the British and Czech archives concerning

Young woman: “What did God do for us in those years under communism?! In 1956 in Hungary, in 1968 in Czechoslovakia?! [Russia invaded both countries with the might of their Red Army to crush with bloodshed popular protests and uprisings for reform of the soviet system.] He left us for tens of years under the communist regime, under this oppression! What did God do for us?!” David: “The problem was you didn’t have anyone who really believed the Bible and preached the Gospel – we’ve got to turn to God, listen to God, ask God to deliver! I’m sorry to say, Czechoslovakia was mainly an atheistic country.” Young woman: “So you have better Christians in the West?!”

David’s arrest and imprisonment for Bible Smuggling at the height of the Cold War, and his dramatic release by Harold Wilson (covering the period 1972-73). His concern is that the suppression of religion under communism is hardly known and barely studied to this day. David’s address to the students and his fearless stand for the Gospel was received with attentive interest

David: “No! When Lenin was sent into Russia – by the West – to bring a revolution, his whole purpose – in order to subdue the people – was to destroy Christianity. I am sorry to say, today Britain is not a godly country, the EU is not godly, in fact, it is not much better than communism. Christian leaders in Ukraine tell me that they are under military pressure from Russia in the East, but from the West they are under pressure from the EU to conform to ‘European values’ – which they don’t want and which are destroying Christian values and principles. The Churches of course have to repent of some of the things they have done, but there is a movement for change.

those who have persecuted you. Many of you have lost family, and sitting next to you, here in this stadium, may be members of the secret police who have imprisoned, even killed, your father, your husband, your sons...” My young interpreter absolutely couldn’t translate this, “How can I say this to these people?!” But the pastor of the church I was working with took over, and gave that message of forgiveness. If you could have seen the tears and the change that came over those people when they began to forgive... Bitterness and hatred will destroy you – forgiveness is so important. I don’t hold anything against Czechoslovakia for what you did to me, for that year in prison. I learnt so much more in that prison than I have ever learnt in the comfortable West. It was your people, the men I was in prison with, who said, “David, don’t forget us! Do something!” It’s because of your country that, after my release, I continued to come back to the East. When I walked out of that prison, it was to forgive my tormentors and my persecutors. I am here in Prague today to thank you as a people for what you did to me; it is only because of what you did that my whole life changed and I have the ministry I have today. That is what I mean by forgiveness.”

“We have to get back to the simplicity of the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to what He taught and did. “Ukraine today with all its problems is no different to Israel in the time of Jesus. Ukraine suffered under Nazi occupation, then under communism. And has its own internal corruption... Israel suffered under Greek occupation, then under the Romans. And had its own corruption... “When Jesus came, the people were asking Him, “Have You come as Messiah? Will you free us from the Romans?” – Because He was preaching the Kingdom of God on earth... But peace in this world will only be when Jesus comes back as World Ruler (Messiah)! The world is so full of hatred; since the end of World War II there has been no real peace, only wars and killing; but go back through history, even to the beginning of the Bible, and you still find one man, Cain, killing his brother, Abel. People are surprised when I say that when I was in the communist prison, my best friend was a murderer – but he helped me! For one year I lived with every kind of criminal. I

learned to love those men. I realised that there was something more to them than the crime they had committed... “It was the same with Jesus. When we didn’t know God, couldn’t find Him, God so wanted to love you, to know you, He sent His own Son – and only through Jesus can we fully understand the love of God! He lived among people like you and me, like those men in my prison... In fact, the religious people accused Jesus of being a friend of sinners! To them this was wrong. The Son of God, a friend of sinners? He used to eat with tax collectors and sinners, in their homes! – He came in order to get to know us, to understand us! The Gospel says, God so loved the world that He sent His Only Son! He didn’t love us in ignorance, He loved us despite recognising, and in fact because of, our sin! “ONLY God can forgive sin. Sin is disobedience to God. Your sin is not just against someone you know nor against people out there in the street, it’s against God’s

law! But the miracle is, God does NOT want to punish us, He WANTS to break the curse of sin and set us free! God changes things! When I was in the prison, I prayed and God worked a miracle, He got me out after only ten months! Can you imagine the emotion I felt when I was set free?!! I want to show the power God has to change things on earth, in our lives, when we pray! God will even change your nation! But first He must change you! And this only begins when you give Him your heart! Only then will you love Him! “When in the Bible, they brought a paralysed man to Jesus, Jesus challenged them, “Which is the easiest? To forgive sin, or to say to this paralysed man, get up and walk?!” – Jesus answered for them: He healed the man so that we can know He has power to forgive sin!!! Every time I see a miracle of healing, it’s the proof Jesus forgives sin!!! And Jesus is coming back HERE, because He loves you! Respond by giving Him your life!”

But in East Europe and RussianDavid writes: “From the freedom in Russia in 1991/92 until now, I have concentrated my biggest efforts on Russia, Siberia, Ukraine, East Europe and other former Soviet Satellite States. God has always confirmed His Word with miracles, signs and wonders! In a single five-year period between 1994 and 1999, in Belarussia, Ukraine, Siberia and in Russia itself, I personally held over two hundred evangelistic crusades, saw multitudes come to Christ, and recorded over fifteen thousand healing miracles – so many, we stopped even trying to count. In any one crusade meeting today up to one third of the people present claim to have been healed by the power of God. But my greatest joy is the men and women who have come into fulltime ministry as a result of my telling them about Jesus.” Despite having been in a communist prison 1972-73, David evangelised openly in Hungary and Bulgaria – in the largest meetings ever held in the history of those nations – BEFORE Communism fell!!! In Glasgow in the 1920’s, he met with Evangelist George Jeffreys who invited my father to become Superintendent of the new Elim Churches in London. Impressed by the large scale evangelism with signs and wonders (George Jeffreys was one of the greatest healing evangelist Britain has ever seen), my father accepted. Like my father, Jeffreys was converted in the Welsh Revival. Never having married, he wanted to adopt me – so as a baby I was dedicated to the Lord by him. I often wonder what he prayed over me, and if it was this that precipitated the calling of God on my life.”

communism finally collapsed in the Soviet Union itself, by a miracle, David was holding a crusade in Rovno, West Ukraine. This crusade was utterly amazing, as it was both advertised and actually broadcast to the whole city over their own communist propaganda loudspeaker system! Every street, every apartment heard the news about Jesus! In a country where the people had been taught ‘God is dead’, David was the first-ever in history, in 1992 and 93, to evangelise in the famous Dynamo Stadium and the National Sports Palace in Kiev, the capital city of Ukraine! With signs and wonders! They told us that before these crusades, miracles were hard and rare – but after the crusades something changed in the spiritual atmosphere over the whole nation and miracles happened easily – on the streets, in the hospitals, everywhere. In 1992 just one small Spiritfilled independent church in Kiev – about 100 people – dared to stand with David by faith, that God would do the impossible! After the evangelism there was an explosion of church

growth in Kiev and in all Ukraine, until today the largest churches in all Europe and the largest Messianic congregation in the whole world are in Kiev – led by David’s ‘boys’ from 1992 – young men who had helped him!

In 1961 as a young man, David Hathaway pioneered the first-ever overland crossing from Britain into the newly established nation of Israel, through Europe and the Iron Curtain countries – and the hostile Middle East countries. This adventurous route became so popular that David had to form a tour company, taking groups to Israel up to 8 times a year in his blue and white buses. David writes: “Travelling through the Communist countries opened my eyes. Christians were suffering, even dying for their faith. I looked for ways to help. Using my tour buses I began Biblesmuggling. After bringing over one hundred and fifty thousand Bibles and New Testaments (two tonnes every time), I was arrested at the Czechoslovak border in 1972 with five thousand Bibles for Russia. I was interrogated, tortured and sentenced for ‘sedition against the state’. How I prayed in that prison! I had a dream two nights after being found guilty, in which I saw myself out of prison and speaking in the largest auditorium in London at Easter! My birthday was four days before Easter that year, so I asked God to release me on my birthday! After almost a year, exactly as I had prayed, I was released – on my birthday. Harold Wilson flew from London into Czechoslovakia to bring me out! And just as I had seen in the dream, I was invited to speak in the Royal Albert Hall at Easter four days later!”

David writes: “All my life, the whole purpose of my evangelism and all my efforts is leading to the Kingdom of God here on earth, to declare with power and authority the Coming of the Lord. Jesus opened Scripture and read: The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me

David did not forget his fellow sufferers in Eastern Europe and in 1976, only a few years later, based on the recently signed Helsinki Accords, he led the largest-ever Christian demonstration in London to secure the release from prison of Georgi Vins, a renowned Baptist pastor in Kiev… David continues to work in the former Communist countries until this day; also in Israel, with Russian-speaking Holocaust survivors and their descendants. In September this year he was presented with a medal by the United Nations for his lifetime’s missionary and social work in the protection of Human Rights.

If you have reached the end of this magazine and are in some deep disagreement, I can understand you! As a child I was taught very strongly: “Jesus has done all the ‘coming’ He’s going to do! He’s NOT coming again!” ... ... My father was a good man, a devout High Church Anglican minister, a man of prayer who read the Scriptures daily and who taught theology at the University of Exeter from the time I was 7 years old. As an adult I continued to believe as I had been taught. But in Spring 1979, after 5 years of searching the Bible to find answers to help me live my life, the Lord appeared to me one night, and all night He said only one thing, “Come!” In the morning the world seemed new to me, the Scriptures were alive, and I was born again! By December that year I knew from Scripture that God is actively fulfilling prophecy, that it is He who caused the nation of Israel to be re-established, that it is He who is bringing the Jews back to live in the Land – just as the prophets foretold! And I remember the very moment and the exact place where I was standing when I KNEW – JESUS IS COMING BACK! I was just newly pregnant with my third child. I wondered how I felt about bringing up a child who might never grow up to have the normal life we all expect – career, marriage, kids... But it was as if a voice inside me said, “The only thing that matters – in anyone’s life – is to know the Lord.” With that I was at peace. I must confess that all through the years I spoke of my belief that Jesus is

coming back – often! Too often from the point of view of my children, who felt that their future, the aspirations and hopes which they longed for, all was being cut off by my words… I deeply regret my lack of wisdom. That’s a fact. But it doesn’t alter the Truth of God’s Word! One day in my garden whilst the children were at school and I was reading my Bible, one verse shot out of the pages, straight into my heart: ‘Unless you believe Moses (and the prophets), you cannot believe in Me. They spoke of Me!’ Read John 5:46-47 for the actual words on the page – I have written the words as I received them in my heart even to this day. Over the many years following I have continued to search the Scriptures, and in my heart and mind, the picture grows stronger and clearer day by day. Some people say, they cannot accept the Bible as literally true, that it wasn’t like this and it wasn’t like that... But I think, if you doubt the Truth of the Bible, why then do you call yourself a Christian?! In what way do you believe in Jesus, if for you it isn’t really true?! And if you believe the Scripture, if you believe Scripture IS the Word of God, but still you can’t quite understand that Jesus IS coming again – then I challenge you, as God challenged

me in my garden, search the Scripture for yourself! For others this is all too weird, too impossible, how can Christ come again?! What will it be like?! But nothing is impossible for God, from the infinitely large, to the infinitely small… The scientists now estimate there are 100 billion galaxies in the observable universe. As technologies improve they think they will find 200 billion, and more! And the little things... Our finance manager shared a totally amazing formula he found for a single molecule of Haemoglobin, it’s this: C2954H516N780S12Fe4 – that means – 2,954 atoms of Carbon combined with 516 atoms of Hydrogen and 780 of Nitrogen and 12 of Sulphur and 4 of Iron – in one single molecule!!! How’s that for minute detail?!! Jeremy commented, “This was from one source – I notice that other sources give different formulae (equally complex), although this may be expected since there are, of course, different blood groups.”

I wish I could find words to express the detail and magnitude of God’s plans and purposes… We cannot counsel God, we are very weak and uncertain of ALL things – but the Holy Spirit WILL reveal God’s counsel to us when we open up our hearts to hear… 1 Corinthians 2:2-5, 9-16 – Read it!
