General Information Where are the B&Bs? You will find the B&Bs throughout the UK - England, Scotland and Wales. The brochure is divided into nine areas and you will find the page reference for each of them in the index on page 3. Each area has a description of the area’s highlights as to where to go and what to see and a map before the listing of the B&Bs in that area.
How do I book? Contact details of each B&B are provided with each entry along with their own website, if they have one. You can telephone or email the owner with your enquiry and by doing this direct with the host enables you to obtain the best price available. The owner does not have to pay commission to expensive booking channels. Please remember the majoirty of the B&Bs are private homes with a maximum of 3 bedrooms for guests. They may already be booked in advance at busy times. Early booking is strongly advised for festivals such as Edinburgh, Goodwood, the Cheltenham Gold Cup and many others. Some B&Bs will only accept two night bookings at peak periods and weekends – please check with individual B&Bs. The majority will be closed over Christmas and New Year as they are family homes. B&B Nationwide can provide a booking service. This is useful for visitors needing help with their reservations such as those from overseas or guests requesting guidance when staying at TY MAWR, CARMARTHEN more than one B&B. What will it cost? The prices advertised are per room per night, based on two people in a double or twin room or one person in a single room. Please ask for family room rates. Many B&Bs will let a double or twin room for single occupancy at a discounted room price, please enquire for rates. Most B&Bs will also offer reductions for children, please enquire. The payment will include all taxes, bedding, towels and full cooked breakfast except where “Continental breakfast only” is advertised. The price usually reflects the quality of furnishings and fittings, but the same welcome and standards of cleanliness should be found at ALL the B&Bs in this brochure. Sometimes there may be an additional supplement for stays PENGWERN COUNTRY HOUSE, SNOWDONIA during special events eg Silverstone car racing, Cheltenham Gold Cup Week, Goodwood events and Henley Regatta.
How do I pay? Hosts will accept cash, cheques or BACS payments. Some will also accept credit cards. If this is important, please check at the time of booking. Some hosts require a deposit at the time of booking. This varies with the individual host and they will tell you of their arrangements.
