What facilities are provided ?

Are either: Ensuite: a bath or shower with access from within the bedroom Private: bath or shower room exclusively for the use of one bedroom but located nearby on the landing Shared: used by other guests if any are staying Many, but not all, B&Bs have sitting rooms exclusively for guests to use. There will be a TV available in all B&Bs (except where reception is impossible). They are generally in the bedrooms but may also be in the sitting room. Evening meals If a B&Boffers evening meals it will be stated in the text. Meals vary from traditional to sumptuous, and a very few may be licensed for the sale of alcohol.

Parking The majority of B&Bs will have ample provision for parking unless they are in town centres, where it may be street parking only.

Children

Dogs Most B&Bs welcome children but there may be age restrictions. Minimum age is printed on the entries. Some B&Bs have family rooms and other facilities for children.

What time can be spent in the B&B?

Arrivals - most B&Bs are private homes so the owners might not be there all day. The general arrival time is between 17.00 and 19.00 hours. Your host will probably ask you about this. Please contact them if you are delayed.

CHESHIRE BOUTIQUE BARNS

Departures - guests are expected to leave after breakfaston the day of departure, usually by 11.00am. The majority of B&Bs allow access during the day for guests staying more than one night. Please check with the owner as you are staying in a home and not an hotel. Are any of the B&Bs of special or historical interest?

Some of the B&Bs are very old, many with an interesting history. Those described as “listed” or “Grade II listed” or “Grade I listed” the buildings are registered as having features of historical interest. Planning restrictions to preserve their character can restrict the alterations to the structure. Am I allowed to smoke? Smoking is banned in all public indoor places in the UK. It is not allowed in any of the B&Bs featured in the brochure. Please ask hosts about ‘smoking areas’.
