INTERIOR DESIGN & PLANNING FOR LARGER PROJECTS To complement our established offering of replenishment items required in volume to refresh and maintain bedrooms, kitchens and other shared areas, we also offer a comprehensive turnkey design and planning service for more challenging and larger-scale projects such as shared lounges, communal and reception areas, cafés, dining rooms and restaurants. The expectations of residents have risen immensely and continue to do so. Our experienced design team work hand in hand with our in-house product team to develop a vision and design schemes for areas where a distinct site-specific response is required, creating a cohesive and sensitive scheme. We keep everything in-house – from developing a vision for the space with clients and housing representatives through to initial design concepts, design presentation, space planning, product selection and sourcing through to the final installation and dressing. We even provide lighting and finishing specifications to other contractors. We take care of project management throughout, allocating dedicated personnel to be responsible for planning, product supply, installation and client liaison – ensuring that everything goes smoothly.

ORDERING, DELIVERY & INSTALLATION AN AWARD-WINNING DELIVERY & INSTALLATION SERVICE THAT TAKES THE HASSLE OUT OF FURNISHING A PROPERTY Our dedicated and expert team carries out over 1,500 deliveries a week – assembling and installing professionally and efficiently in all types of property. Assembly and installation in the designated rooms is included in the price you pay, and delivery is free to around 50% of UK properties. We deliver to 95% of UK properties within 7 days, subject to stock availability. For orders placed before 4pm, we can often deliver the next working day in Greater London (within the M25 and selected locations just outside), Greater Manchester, Liverpool and selected locations in the north of England – again, subject to stock availability. Our expert delivery and installation teams will take away all packaging and rubbish, and can remove and dispose of old, unwanted items such as mattresses and appliances by prior arrangement, for a modest charge. Our custom upholstery range offers a choice of 7 fabric bands, including tweeds, patterns, plains and fully waterproof options, providing a huge choice of fabrics and colours to suit most furnishing schemes and budgets. The range is manufactured in the UK using FSC hardwoods, with glued, screwed and dowelled frames that are integral to the structure itself for added strength. Concealed staples, premium foams for extra comfort, and heavy duty zips on cushions are standard. Frames are stained and lacquered in a choice of ďŹ nishes using multiple coats applied to BS 6250 to provide excellent scratch resistance. Available in a huge choice of fabrics, all of our custom seating conforms to BS 7176 1995 medium hazard and/or BS 5852 1990 Sect. 4 ignition source 5 for ďŹ&#x201A;ammability.

BEDROOM FURNITURE

To celebrate ﬁfty years of supplying contract furnishings, David Phillips commissioned international furniture designer Nathalie de Leval to design a range of contemporary modular furniture suitable for both refurbishment and new-build schemes in all types of accommodation settings.

For Natalie, thinking about the residents and their experience was fundamental to the design. Even given the tight constraints of the materials - predominantly melamine faced chipboard and cost, she was determined to give the same level of care and consideration to the design to create furniture that feels warm and inviting, helping to create a home away from home. This has led to a design that sits comfortably in a residential setting.

“The biggest challenge was to bring a sense of warmth to the furniture. I was adamant that this should be sophisticated and homely, without flashy colours or novelty handles” The modular furniture is based on a system Nathalie de Leval With a brief to create something flexible, durable and beautiful, Nathalie developed a system of components that cleverly ‘fit’ together to make an almost unlimited number of configurations possible. Another key requirement of the brief was to make it very easy to install, reducing the amount of onsite fitting and eliminating cutting and scribing-in altogether.

Nathalie de Leval is an internationally renowned furniture designer and maker, whose work ranges from bespoke commissions and products, to design for production. She has worked with Sir Paul Smith, Chelsea award winning garden designer Luciano Giubbilei and Sir Terence Conranâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Benchmark Furniture. Originally a sculptor, she studied cabinet making to improve her making skills, and discovered a passion for furniture which led to an MA in furniture design at the Royal College of Art. Nathalie is passionate about the role good furniture can have on peopleâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s lives. She cares deeply about designing and making furniture that lasts. Her designs are driven by the importance of having a clear understanding of the needs and demands of her clients and the places where her furniture will live. Through extensive model making to reďŹ ne and develop ideas, and her skill as a cabinet maker understanding materials and craft, Nathalie strives for her furniture to transcend our throw away culture, and become pieces that are loved and cared for over many years.
