22, 000 Green jobs off shored to India. India has good news in the field of Green Technology. According to Doug Brown , co author of the influential 2009 Green Outsourcing Report about 22,000 have been off shored from the US to India since January 1, 2009. India is becoming the most attractive destination as there are very few business destinations that offer the same quality and quantitative outcome as the Indian firms. The US and the UK outsourcing companies are benefiting to a large extent by off shoring the same. The sky rocketing energy costs and regulatory pressure have compelled the UK and the US to approach green technologies. The energy costs have become as high as 84% compared to 12% to 18% in the past few years. According to an annual study conducted by BrownWilson Group, found that green technology jobs are being created faster in India than in the US since Obama took office. The annual industry study by BrownWilson Group, which surveyed 4,000 global firms, was released last week. The report lists Patni, HCL, WNS, Wipro, Mastech and Tech Mahindra among important Indian green vendors who are benefiting from the offshoring wave.Among the nonIndian firms, Xerox, Accenture, IBM Global, CSC, Capgemini, Oracle, HP/ ED S, Aramark, SITEL and Perot lead the list. India is expected to create many jobs as many centers of the above mentioned companies are based in India along with cheap labor and quality output . In India, the green stimulus plan has created jobs for, strategic business management, data center management engineers, utilities and electric engineers and quality specialists , and support technicians for innovative environmental friendly solutions. Outsourcing suppliers who embrace green initiatives and efficiency are gaining the competitive advantage ahead of the forecasted carbon economy and mitigate clients' reputational risks associated with the energy excesses and pollution. "A bold group of high profile offshore outsourcers are changing the regard for environmental impact. Ecoaction in India is leading to more economical, endtoend clean technology solutions for US enterprise clients," concludes Wilson
Indian firms have been performing extremely well and Wipro was ranked 5th amongst green brands globally according to Greenpeace survey. In addition to this the Indian firms have initiated Green IT solutions such as consulting , virtualization , carbon management and paperless office, to help clients cut cost. India continues to reap the benefit from the off shoring strategy of the US which is on the move to directly stimulate the economy and bring more sustainable future in the face of coming climate change.
