We then return to Suwon where we will visit the Hwaseong Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage site and built by King Jeongjo in the late 18th Century during the Joseon Dynasty as a defensive fortification against political rebels.

There are many wonderful wooden cultural artefacts, which had preserved the memories of the past, allowing you to appreciate the culture of Korean ancestors. People have lived in this area since ancient times and as a result, the richness of Korea’s magnificent folk culture has been integrated into Korean daily lives. We visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Hahoe Folk Village and along with Yangdong, are two of Korea’s most representative historic clan villages. You will also spend a night in a traditional “hanok”, a Korean traditional guesthouse to experience a warm and sincere Korean hospitality.

DAY 04 30th NOV (SUN) ANDONG / GYEONGJU Today, we continue south to Gyeongju – capital of the ancient Shilla Kingdom between 7th – 9th centuries. You will visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Bulguksa Temple, the Temple of the Land Buddha, is a testimony to both the skill of Silla architects and the depth of Buddhist faith at the time. Another UNESCO site nearby is the Seokguram Buddhist Grotto which displays world religious arts. We then continue to Cheomseongdae Observatory which is the oldest existing astronomical observatory in Asia. Our last stop is the Gyeongju National Museum which displays the cultural history of the district.

We visit the busy and bustling Jagalchi Market where you will see an astonishing variety of the freshest catch from the Sea of Japan. We recommend you try some uplifting sashimi perhaps. Thereafter, transfer to Pusan Gimhae Intl Airport for your flight to Jeju.

DAY 06 02nd DEC (TUE) JEJU Today, we have a full day excursion of Jeju. First, visit the Teddy Bear Museum to see a collection of teddy bears in different costumes. Continue along the scenic southern coast while admiring the towering Mount Hallasan. You will then arrive at the Seongsan Ilchubong (Sunrise Peak) rising 182m from the sea in a series of volcanic eruptions more than 100,000 years ago. Take a short hike to the peak and marvel at the astonishing scenery! Next, we visit the Jeju Haenyeo Museum to learn about the lives of the haenyeo women divers. As the nation progresses, the women divers also aged and soon the cultural assets will soon diminish as young females are no longer taking on this unique trade. We complete our tour with a short drive and visit to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Manjanggul Cave – one of the finest lava tunnels in the world and designated a natural monument. Step into the surreal and bizarre realm and admire the beautiful stalactites and stalagmites. As we return to your hotel, we enjoy a delightful dinner experience of Jeju’s famous black pork BBQ and other dishes!
