FROM DAVLER MEDIA
May 10, 2022
Dear Friends, Many outstanding women contribute to the success of NYC’s tourism industry. We are proud to host the first of its kind NYC Women In Tourism Awards to honor their enormous accomplishments, which have a huge impact on our success and set the bar for the next generation of young women. We want to thank American Airlines, our presenting sponsor who immediately saw the importance of these awards. The distinguished panel of judges had the tough job of selecting the Honorees from 200 submissions. The biggest congratulations go to the 2022 Honorees from 17 tourism categories. Your participation in Women In Tourism includes several philanthropic components that support young women (and some men) in their career advancement. A scholarship is being established at NAF’s (National Academy Foundation) Academy of Hospitality and Tourism which serves nearly 1,000 hospitality and tourism students in NYC. Additionally, we are hosting tourism and hospitality students from NYU and St. John’s University. Our emcee Brittney Johnson, star of Wicked, supports Saving Our Daughters (SOD) as an influential Celebrity Godparent Mentor within the Saving Our Cinderella Program and is bringing some of the girls to the luncheon as our guests. The tourism industry is a collegial and dynamic one. Women In Tourism Awards is a product of the collaboration of many great people. It’s been a long 2 years and now is the time to look forward to the future. We thank you for joining us because when women share in each other’s successes, we help pave the way for future generations to become tomorrow’s leaders. Sincerely,
David L. Miller CEO
FROM THE MAYOR’S OFFICE
THE CITY OF NEW YORK OFFICE OF THE MAYOR NEW YORK, NY 10007
May 10, 2022 Dear Friends: It gives me great pleasure to welcome everyone to NYC Women in Tourism Awards, hosted by Davler Media City Guide and American Airlines. From the unforgettable view atop the Empire State Building to the beautiful and vibrant paths of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, or the adventures that await at the Bronx Zoo, New York City is overflowing with magical experiences, and we are grateful for our city’s tourism industry, which ensures that we can share these wonders with the world. American Airlines and Davler Media have long been crucial leaders in this sector, enabling visitors to travel to our city and providing them with the information they need to discover our greatest sites. Today’s event places a spotlight on the incredible women in tourism who have helped New York remain a prime travel destination, and who will play a pivotal role in crafting its future. By highlighting women’s many tremendous achievements, this event ensures that their contributions are not only seen but are deeply appreciated and valued. Through these awards, these companies are building an affirming, positive environment that encourages other women to join this important industry and help revitalize our city and nation. As we work together to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, which disproportionately impacted our tourism sector, I am proud to commend Davler Media, American Airlines, and every woman who has helped support our city throughout these difficult times, for their commitment, drive, and leadership. On behalf of the City of New York, please accept my best wishes for an inspirational and rousing event. Sincerely,
Eric Adams Mayor
