GET INVOLVED PLAY IN INTRAMURALS How To Register

All intramural participants are required to create an account on IMLeagues. To create an IMLeagues account; 1. Go to www.imleagues.com/CSUMB/Registration or Go to www.imleagues.com and click “Create Account” 2. Enter your information, and use your School email if applicable (@csumb.edu) and submit. 3. You will be sent an activation email; click the link in the email to login and activate your IMLeagues account. 4. You should be automatically joined to your school (Search schools by clicking the “Schools” link).

How to sign up for an intramural sport

Log in to your IMLeagues account. 1. Click the “Create/Join Team” at the top right of your User Homepage or Click on the “California State University, Monterey Bay” link to go to the school’s homepage. 2. Make sure to log on with your CSUMB email and then click on the sport you wish to join. 3. Choose the league type you wish to play in. Note: You will have the option to select times you are unavailable 4. You can join the sport one of three ways: - Create a team (For team captains) - Join a team

GET INVOLVED WORK FOR INTRAMURALS Student Officials

Intramural Sports Officials are put through two and three day trainings. All officials must complete a Recreation Application from the Recreation Front Desk. Officials are energetic and dedicated employees to make up team intramrauls. VERY FLEXIBLE, FUN, AND NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. Officials start at $10.50/hour in their first year, and will be required to attend all trainings before officiating. If interested in becoming a student official, please email the Intramurals department at intramurals@csumb.edu.

Student Supervisors

Student Supervisors are responsible for the ongoing evaluation and supervision of student officials with the assistance of the Coordinator of Intramural Sports. 3-4 Student Supervisors are needed for intramural sports to remain operational throughout each semester. These positions are very limited. A full job description can be found on our website (csumb.edu/intramurals). Must have experience as a CSUMB Intramural Sports Official and superior organizational and customer service skills. Positions will be open on a vacancy only basis.

GET INVOLVED JOIN OLP Prerequisites

The Outdoor Leadership Program (OLP) is a comprehensive leadership training program designed to prepare students to take an active role in planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating high quality and intentional Outdoor Recreation activities. OLP is an extensive training program focused on preparing skilled outdoor leaders through intensive training and professional certification. OLP combines leadership development, outdoor skills training, wilderness medicine, environmental stewardship, critical thinking, mentoring and evaluation. The curriculum integrates educational skills with outdoor and human skills in a program of progressive leadership development.

CSUMB student in good standing with at least 3 semesters remaining:v • Maintain a minimum GPA – 2.3 • Some experience in Outdoor Recreation activities, but no experience is required • Great personality, attitude, and commitment to excellence • Participation in an Outdoor Recreation trip is highly encouraged

CHALLENGE COURSE

The CSUMB Challenge Course staff are committed to the development of human potential through experiential and adventure– based programming open to CSUMB and community groups. We custom design experiential programs for non–profits, businesses, and schools. Our programs encourage groups to challenge assumptions and reach beyond perceived limitations to achieve their potential. Participants explore intrapersonal and interpersonal relationships while engaged in experiential challenges through portable adventures and on our high and low ropes course.

We design programs to: • Improve teamwork, group cohesion and cooperation • Develop leadership, encourage problem solving and improve communication • Challenge groups to achieve their potential

Join us the first Thursday each month for a free Challenge Course adventure weather permitting. The Challenge Course experience is a unique adventure opportunity conveniently located on the CSUMB campus. The Challenge Course is a great chance to destress, get a workout, be in nature, hang out with friends, and to face your fears. We encourage all experience and ability levels to join us. Closed toed shoes recommended! We will be hosting the open Challenge Course 8/25, 9/7, 10/5, 11/2, and 12/7 from 1-4pm. You can meet us at 12:50pm at the Recreation Desk in Building 12, and we walk you to the Challenge Course. If you know where the Challenge Course is, feel free to meet us there. Here at Recreation our mission is to engage as many people in experiencing the outdoors as possible. Weekly Mountain Bike Rides

Friday & Saturday Noon Rides These rides focus on a fun communal atmosphere for all riding abilities. We facilitate a fun and friendly experience and want share our love of mountain biking with you. Long Rides Long rides allow riders to really explore the Fort Ord National Monument. We average about 23-30 miles on these rides. These rides are great if you are looking to spend all day on the bike. Long rides will be held at noon on: 9/15, 10/13, and 12/1. Spin Classes We convert our bikes into stationary trainers for this one hour spin class. A great cardio workout that allows you to pick the level of challenge that is right for you. We will be jamming out to some awesome music and melting that stress away so you can get a great night’s sleep. All Rides, Classes & Clinics meet at the Otter Cycle Center in the Student Center unless otherwise indicated. Each Ride includes the use of a bike and helmet. Please be sure to eat a good meal and bring a small snack and extra water bottles.

Bike Rentals

The Otter Cycle Center is your source for bike rentals. Bike Rentals are available for day, weekend, weekly, monthly, semester, or academic year. Each rental includes a lock and helmet. Monthly maintenance is included on semester and academic year rentals.

Bike Repair

The Otter Cycle Center provides a full–service repair shop at discounted rates for CSUMB students, staff, & faculty. In addition to our tune–up and repair services, the Otter Cycle Center provides bike fittings and has free services for your use, including: Quick Fix & Air, Trip Planning, and answers to mechanical, gear, and route questions.

SPORTS CLUB COUNCIL Sports Club Council

Sports Clubs 2017 - 2018

Sports Clubs provide CSUMB students an opportunity to enrich their university experience through participation in competitive, recreational, and instructional sports clubs. Sports Clubs provide students a variety of levels in which to engage including: inter-collegiate, instructional, and recreational. Sports Club members engage in inter-collegiate competitions, recreational skill development, organizational skill development, and improve leadership skills through the management of student-run sports clubs.

Is a student organization and subsidiary organization of the Associated Students responsible for the oversight and governance of Sports Clubs. The purpose of the Sports Club Council is to serve the specific organizational, financial, and risk management needs of Sports Clubs by reviewing and recommending resource appropriation; proposing, planning, and coordinating club activities; and establishing and enforcing policies for the safe and effective operations of club activities.

RECREATION FACILITIES Recreation Field

The Recreation Field will host Intramural outdoor soccer, flag football, ultimate frisbee, and sports clubs’ competitions. It is located North of North Quad at 4th Ave. and 2nd St.

Otter Sports Center The OSC hosts Intramural Sports indoor contests, such as basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer, and dodgeball competitions. The OSC is located on the corner of 2nd Ave. and InterGarrison Blvd. For more information, please contact: Otter Sports Center at (831) 582 - 3031

Athletic Fields The baseball and softball fields play host to intramural softball, and other events as needed. They are located off of Second Ave. between Light Fighter Dr. and Divarty St.
