CancerFree Kids hosts the 16th annual Butterfly Walk and 5K in-person this year on Saturday, May 21 at the beautiful Cottell Park in Deerfield Township. CancerFree Kids is a nonprofit organization dedicated to eradicating cancer as a life-threatening disease in children by funding promising research that might otherwise go unfunded. You and your family can help raise some of these funds. The event features a 5K race, an inspirational one-mile walk, Survivor Ceremony, food, games, activities and so much more. Pyramid Hill's Summer Series for Kids
Pyramid Hill has their Summer Series for Kids on the calendar! Beginning June 1 and continuing through July 27, kids ages 5 - 12 can participate in entertaining, interactive and educational workshops covering art and nature. The weekly sessions take place on Wednesdays from from 12 - 1 p.m. From crafts to critters, kids can experience hands-on learning while having fun in the beautiful park. Workshops are free to members or can be paid for through general park admission (children ages 6 - 12 $5; children 5 and younger are free). Most classes have a cap of 30 students, so be sure to call ahead for availability before heading out.

Bark Park Now Open
Florence has a brand-new doggy-friendly destination. The Bark Park & Patio will feature a tap room with lots of local brews for grown-ups to enjoy as well as a patio for pooches to explore! Prior to visiting, be sure to sign a liability waiver and choose a day, month or annual pass, then enjoy a day of fun. There will also be fun events offered regularly.

Here Comes the Book Bus!
Campbell County Public Library has added a new literary tool to help promote a lifelong love of reading. A brandnew book bus will be putting the pedal to the metal with the goal of attending public events and giving young readers free books, signing up folks for library cards, returning checked out library books and teaching the public all about library programs and services.

Fight For Air Climb At GABP
Get climbing and raise money for the Lung Association during the 17th annual Fight For Air Climb. The event is back at Great American Ballpark this year on May 22 with exciting new challenges including the “Power Hour Challenge” which allows participants to climb the stadium stairs as many times as possible in one hour. A virtual option is available for those who can’t make it to the physical event. Help end lung cancer and lung disease with this fun fitness event.

Velocity Esports Now Open
Gamers of all ages are going to love the brand-new Velocity Esports venue at Newport on the Levee. The former Gameworks location has undergone a $400,000 renovation and features an upgraded restaurant and bar area, a vast selection of arcade games and prizes, billiards, foosball, shuffleboard and more. The venue will also host live music and gaming tournaments.
