SATURN Saturn is the second (1)_________ planet and is a gas giant like Jupiter. Under clouds of methane, hydrogen, and helium, the sky slowly turns into a giant ocean of liquid chemicals. Saturn is the least dense planet in our (2) _________ system; it is made mostly of hydrogen and helium. Because it is so lightweight and spins so (3) _________, Saturn is not perfectly round like the (4) __________ planets. Saturn is surrounded by thousands of small rings made of rocks and ice. It also has 140 natural satellites, like moons and pieces of debris. V. Read the passage and do the tasks below. (2 pt) LEARNING ENGLISH It is not easy for adult students of English to improve their accent. Unlike children, who are flexible, adults often find it hard to change the way they speak. This is why even the top, or smartest adult students have difficulty with pronunciation. There are several things that an international student can do to improve his or her pronunciation. One method is to sign up for a pronunciation class. Studying pronunciation can help students to understand the rules of English, but in order to practice speaking, students often need to be exposed to English outside the classroom as well. This is why many students say that studying in an Englishspeaking country greatly affects their English. Living with native speakers can help students to learn new vocabulary as well as improve their accents. International students can also learn important cultural information. This can help to prevent misunderstandings that can occur when people from different cultures live together.

OF
It is not easy for adult students of English to improve their accent. Unlike children, who are flexible, adults often find it hard to change the way they speak. This is why even the top or smartest adult students have difficulty with pronunciation. There are several things that an international student can do to improve his or her pronunciation.
NH
ƠN
One method is to sign up for a pronunciation class. Studying pronunciation can help students to understand the rules of English, but in order to practice speaking, students often need to be exposed to English outside the classroom as well. This is why many students say that studying in an English-speaking country greatly affects their English. Living with native speakers can help students to learn new vocabulary as well as improve their accents. International students can also learn important cultural information. This can help to prevent misunderstandings that can occur when people from different cultures live together.
QU Y
1. Adult students of English cannot improve their accents because they are slow to change. 2. Most young students are able to change their pronunciation easily. 3. Attending a pronunciation class can be very helpful to adult learners who have problems with their pronunciation.

(1,25 pts) The price of holidays can fluctuate a great deal throughout the year, so you can save a lot if you are flexible with your travel dates and avoid peak holiday times. It can be also cheaper if you book well in advance. Before your departure, make sure you get as much information about your destination as you can. Find out if you require any special visas or permits to travel there. Think about spending money as well. Will you be able to access your own money easily enough or will you need to take cash with you? Think about eating larger lunches and smaller evening meals to help your money go further, as lunch is generally cheaper. Make sure that you keep sufficient identification with you at all times. It may also help to email a copy of your passport details to yourself, in case it is lost or stolen. Label your suitcases clearly so that they can be easily identified as yours. It can be useful to store a copy of your itinerary in a prominent place in your suitcase so that the airline will know where to find you if your luggage gets lost. Be sure to pack any medication or other essential items in your hand luggage. If your flight is delayed, or your luggage is lost, these can be difficult to obtain in an airport or foreign country. 1. Manners are taught, learnt, and passed from generation to generation. Even hundreds of years ago, children were taught to behave responsibly. They learnt to respect seniority. When they passed an object to another person, they had to use both hands. When they entered a room, they had to bow and greet the oldest person first. Boys learnt to work hard to support their families. Girls learnt to do housework, and to take care of others. Loyalty and honesty were highly appreciated. When they made a mistake, they would not let another person be punished for it. That would be cowardly and mean. They were taught that families were strong, and everybody should stick together in adversity. Fortunately, many of these values have been well preserved. From far out in space, Earth looks like a blue ball. Since water covers three-fourths of the Earth's surface, blue is the colour we see most. The continents look brown, like small islands floating in the huge, blue sea. White clouds wrap around the Earth like a light blanket. The Earth is shaped like a sphere, or a ball. It is 25,000 miles around! It would
NH ƠN
take more than a year to walk around the whole planet. A spaceship can fly around the widest part of the sphere in only 90 minutes.
Even though spaceships have traveled to the Moon, people cannot visit the Moon without special suits. The Moon has no air or water. Plants and animals can't live there either. Astronauts first landed on the Moon in 1969. After that,, there were six more trips to the Moon. They brought back Moon rocks, which scientists are still studying. There are
QU Y
holes, or craters, all over the Moon's surface. Scientists believe that meteorites smashed into the Moon millions of years ago and formed the craters.. The Sun is the closest star to Earth. A star is a hot ball of burning gas. The . Sun looks very big because it is so close. But the Sun is just a medium-sized star. Billions of far-

away stars are much bigger than our Sun. The burning gases from the Sun are so hot that they warm the Earth from 93 million miles away! Even though the Sun is always glowing,
KÈ
the night here on Earth is dark. That's because the Earth rotates, or turns around, every 24 hours. During the day, the Earth faces the Sun. Then we see light. During the night, the Earth turns away from the Sun. Then it faces the darkness of space.

PARTII : (3pts) I. Read the passage then choose the best answer: (1.5pts) Music influences people in different ways or the same person differently at different times. Music may seem to influence people differently. That is because people can react differently to the music. We are able to apply a choosing process to the music we hear. If someone hates jazz, then a jazz piece with a positive effect will probably not make him feel good. A happy song might appear to make an angry person angrier, yet it is not the music itself that is creating the anger; rather it is the positive effect of the music. The angry person does not want to accept the song's happy feeling: it points out his already existing anger, and makes that anger come to the surface. When a piece of music is played and we are listening to it, our body, mind, and feelings are being affected. The musicians of ancient cultures such as China, India, Turkey and Greece understood the effects of music. In fact, Pathagoras, in ancient Greece, introduced a whole science that concerned them. Because the musicians of these ancient cultures understood these effects, they created music that was positive, uplifting, and beneficial. Once the effects 5

Music influences people in different ways or the same person differently at different times. Once the effects of music are better understood, the next step is to gain a better understanding of the music around us, and what effect it is actually having. 1. The text is about_____. A. The science of music B. Understanding music C. The effects of music on human feelings D. Music and an angry person 2. Music_____. A. cannot be chosen B. affects everybody in the same way C. affects us in different ways D. never make us angry 3. According to the text,_____. A. Everybody likes jazz B. Jazz always makes us feel better C. No one likes jazz D. a very angry person sometimes do not accept music 4. A Chinese tourist on holiday in Egypt was shocked to see graffiti in Chinese on a 3,500year-old monument in Luxor. A photo of the graffiti was soon on his blog on the Internet.

People in China couldn’t believe it!
They were angry and there was a big hunt to find the person responsible. They could find him easily because the message wasn’t very imaginative or clever. It was basically ‘Ding

QU Y
Ding’s graffiti was a terrible idea. It is a serious crime to write on a historic monument in Egypt. You can go to prison for a year for doing it. But in the past, people could write on monuments and no one was angry about it. At Giza there is an example of graffiti on a temple wall from 1244 BC.
