INTO ACTION Spring is all about nature coming to life baby animals, blooming flower fields and lots of sunny days, perfect for going out and about. It’s only fitting that you put away your cuddly winter blanket, shed all unnecessary clothing layers, and step outside to explore. Make the most of the magical Bluebell Season and see the woodlands covered in spectacular blue flower fields. Good news is that this year you may not need to wait until May; the season is expected to start in April.

Head out to Beechenhurst Lodge where your family adventure in the Forest of Dean begins. Feel free to wander around and discover the picturesque scenery in blue, but also take this as an opportunity to explore the widely popular Sculpture Trail under the majestic oak and pine trees at the most beautiful time of the year. Surrounded by unspoilt nature and blue flowers as far as the eye can see, Beechenhurst is also the perfect location to have a picnic with a view to die for!

At the end of spring, the ancient woodlands surrounding Speke Hall turn into an endless sea of blue flowers. Guided walks, trails and different art classes will be taking place to celebrate bluebell season. Special blueberry scones will be on sale, to go with the theme.
Dinefwr is one of the top places to see bluebells in Wales. Just follow the Cattle Trail and it will lead you to the stunning Bluebell display on Rookery Ridge. Usually, bluebells are most beautiful in May, but this year they’re expected to start blooming in April.

There’s nothing more magical than a stroll through the blossoming Bluebell Wood at Clumber Park in spring. Make sure you bring your camera - these will be some of the most magnificent family photos you’ll ever take!
Explore four miles of stunning bluebell carpets on the family-friendly walk through the Great Woods at Blickling Estate in Norfolk. It’s pushchair-friendly, so tiny feet won’t be aching at the end of the day!

Fancy a trip to the sea? Well, there’s no better way to soak up the sun (and the stunning views!) than a scenic coastal walk. Below we’ve listed a few paths suitable even for the tiniest kids, so you can all explore together as a family.

Starting from the Stackpole Estate, this is a stunning coastal walk with dramatic views of limestones and crystal clear blue waters. Bring your camera along and try to spot choughs and Welsh mountain ponies!
Starting from Knoll beach, this 30-minute trail will lead you through the sand dunes of Studland Bay. Simply follow the yellow stones and you’ll find your way. Oh, and make sure you tell your kids the legend of the Old Harry rock!
Penzance to Marazion Seafront Walk West Cornwall | FREE | 2.7 miles (4.3 km) The Penzance to Marazion Seafront Walk is the perfect coastal adventure for your whole family. It covers an easily-accessible, pushchair-friendly, 2-mile stretch along the seafront, with plenty of dogfriendly pubs along the way, so no one has to be left at home. The breath-taking views across Mounts Bay to St Michael’s Mount, the Lizard and Mousehole are worth the trip on their own!

Make sure you read up on the fascinating lore surrounding St Michael’s Mount before you go. Armed with stories about giants, pilgrims and magical stones, you’re sure to have your kids’ attention the whole time.

EVENTS When spring comes, we all know it’s time to get eggcited about Easter and everything that comes with it - egg hunts, trails, baby chicks, the Easter Bunny, plus lots & LOTS of chocolate. Here we’ve got some of the best Easter events across the country, all wrapped up in a handy little list for you to explore. Have a look and find the Easter events near you that your kids won’t want to miss!
HOPPY EASTER at Paultons Park 5th - 23rd April | Hampshire | ££££ | All Ages You’ll feel the spirit of Easter the moment you enter Paultons Park! Bobtail Bunny & his friends will meet your little ones at the main entrance plaza. From there, you’ll see giant Easter Eggs and Bunnies wherever you turn. Don’t get too distracted though, the mischievous Fenton Fox will be lurking around... Take your kids to the Spring Activities Workshop where they’ll make a Daffodil Windmill, a pop-up bunny, a rabbit magnet or an Easter card. A small donation to Marie Curie will be required to take part, so you’ll be helping out a good cause, as well.
EASTER AT CHATSWORTH at Chatsworth House & Farmyard 30th March - 28th April | Derbyshire | ££££ | All Ages From the garden, to the playground, to the farmyard, there will be Easter activities taking place all over the Chatsworth estate. Get in the spirit of Easter with seasonal crafts at the farmyard and hop on the Easterthemed tractor trailer tour over Easter weekend. The hugely popular Easter Egg Trail is set to make a come-back in 2019, as well. This year there will be lots of wicker animals hiding around the estate. It’s up to you and your little detectives to find them all.

I’m seeing this movie with my teenage nephew the moment it hits the cinemas, that’s for certain! I could say it’s just to make him happy, but let’s be honest, Avengers: Endgame is THE movie of 2019 for any Marvel fan, myself included.
Having kids ranging from nursery age through to teenager, there are very few films that appeal to all three at the same time! The Secret Life of Pets was a family crowd pleaser for all of us, so we’re already looking forward to a family trip to see the sequel.
We know many of our favourites who fell victim to “the snap” in Infinity War will come back, but we also know that it will come at a cost. Appropriately named, Endgame will be the last stand of the original Avengers and may very well be the last time we see Cap, Tony or Thor. I predict tears falling in the cinema… It’s going to be absolutely EPIC!

Hitting cinemas shortly after half-term, and before the Easter break, Captain Marvel isn’t a school holiday filler movie! An epic, with sci-fi action, violence, and some strong language, Captain Marvel is going to appeal to the slightly older kids (it’s a 12A), mine included, as well as us adult Marvel fans.
My daughter is a BIG fan of Dumbo, so there was never any questions about going to see the new remake. We’ve watched the original version of this movie so many times and when you love a story is always great fun to see the different ways they are brought to life at the cinema.
As the first female-led superhero movie in the Marvel universe, following DC’s Wonder Woman last year, this is a great one to inspire our daughters to build on those leadership, action, and battle skills. 20
My daughter, 9, loves anything featuring animals and my 4-year-old son finds the fact that they talk hilarious, so that’s already two very big ticks for us. Plus, if the first film is anything to go by, it’s sure to be full of witty humour for adults and it may even get a little laugh out of my teenage
The previous Disney live action remakes have all lived up to expectations, so we’re hoping this one does too. We can’t wait!
