GENERAL EDUCATION DIPLOMA

Details GED® credential is equivalent to a high school diploma and covers these four subject areas: • Mathematical Reasoning • Reasoning through Language

Arts • Science • Social Studies Both English and Spanish GED® tests are available.

For Denton County residents! The North Texas AEL program through Denton ISD hosts GED classes every semester with classes offered in the morning or evening free of charge. For registration and class information contact:

Denton: 940-369-0400 www.dentonisd.org Qualifications  Must be between the ages of 18 to 25 AND  Must have dropped out of a Texas public high school (proof required) OR  Must have signed out of a Texas public high school to be home schooled but did not receive diploma (proof required) OR  Completed 12th grade but did not receive diploma.

GED COMPREHENSIVE Comprehensive classes prepare students to take the GED® test in each of the four subject areas with special emphasis on testing and test taking strategies. (66 hrs.)

ADULT BASIC EDUCATION: ESL PROGRAM Spring 2022

Required Assessments You must take assessments prior to first class date. Below are the dates available for assessments. Please contact Brian Carnes at 940-498-6446 or Lori Dunn at 940-498-6433 for location information.

Session I: January 18th and 20th 6pm-8pm

Session II: March 1st and 3rd 6pm-8pm ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE

Adult and Continuing Education uses Burlington English curriculum to help students begin their English language journey. Burlington English focuses in areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing, with access online anywhere, anytime combined with face to face classroom activities. Students can effectively improve their pronunciation and comprehensibility giving confidence to communicate in any situation(24 hrs.) NOTE: Gainesville ESL classes will be face-to-face only using Challenger and Life Prints curriculum.
