Existing Conditions

The Black Bear Trailhead will serve both the FFST and Overmountain Victory National Historic and State Trail (OVNHT) and is proposed in the Black Bear Access Area Improvements plan (see Exhibit 17: Black Bear Access Area Improvement, page 63). This concept was recommended in the OVNHT: Spruce Pine to Lake James Trail Master Plan (2017).
